Maybe the reason Lucy is a vile beast (and I could see immediately that you weren't overstating the fact... but I digress) is that she wants your polk leaves, and doesn't like them cooked. Just sayin'. 🤣
Great video, Don. Informative, fun and unusual. Well done!

Carrie said her grandma used to cook Poke when she was a kid. She said the smell while it cooked was horrible.

Wow. I have had poke salad when I was hunting in Tuskegee Alabama. It is actually really good. I also like elderberry jelly.

I have never eaten elderberry. Maybe I'll put it on my list of things to try.

@@lambo_drives Nettles are almost nutritiously identical to spinach. I’ve eaten nettles prepared like spinach and they were very nice.

@@wearemany73 I just love anything that can fight back and potentially cause a histamine reaction like no other. Stinging Nettles growing way too well in my flower box right outside my door.

I have no idea “poke greens” were a thing, I’m wondering if there’s a domestic equivalent….(edit: As it turns out there’s no British equivalent that I know of) Interesting though, thx Don 😊

In flavor, spring greens would probably fit the bill, but you would miss out on the danger element.

Like the Japanese blowfish. It's just a fish, but the fact that it can kill you makes it taste better. :)

2 things.... get Fisheye to taste test, and two,... FAR too much work for something that the eggs could have enjoyed with bacon and the grease. ❤🤡.... I love your story telling!😂
