    We are NOT professionals or genetic experts, just trying to share the little that we have learned through breeding/reading into video form.
    Videos will be by no means exhausted, I tried to make things only as technical as they need to be to gain a general understanding (and because mine doesn't go much further) of how genes are inherited. In other words I hope these videos can be a foundation for you to build upon if you so desire.

    Hi my male pigeons is white, and the female is black. What do you think?

    • @FlyingTipplers
      @FlyingTipplers  Před 9 lety

      Gabika Csata Only the Lord can answer that. As you learned in this video there is no such thing as a white pigeon, that is in and of it's self. The only thing anyone can say with certainty about your pair is that you will get blacks no matter what. It could even be 100% black offspring. Check out the rest of the videos and there are links in the descriptions to several peoples genetic sites which have far more info than these videos I did or have.

      You would end up with 100% blacks with some of the off springs with white flights, white under carriage or simply black pieds.

    Ok i want to see of u can answer this question: Meuleman racing homers r particularly Red and Blues with some white laces but where r the mix of the two such as Silver bars? I have seen coops that has half red and blues mix together, but there r no silvers or chocolare bars to be found. There is something genetically different in these birds in that they cannot produce silverbars or brown bars? How is this possible? Is it that Brown cannot mix with blue in one bird by genetic laws or is it just hard to produce it?

    I really am happy I found your videos. This is the first one I watched but will soon watch your series of videos. I have a pigeon that I am unsure of his back ground. My friend gave me him because he was found in a garbage bin during a snowstorm outside a barn of poultry. He was a new born squeaker not even with his eyes open. I am experienced in hand raising chicks but my own little pet white doves also fed this tiny yellow fuzzy baby even when he grew larger than he was. The baby is now 1.5 years and absolutely beautiful. His body is white and when the light hits him right you can see he has a blue ring around his pupil. He has very long legs and is a powerful and agile flyer. What do you think of his colouring? I don't even know what type of pigeon he is other than he is amazing and has great precision in flight, long legs, and blue eyes. He also is very intelligent, plays fetch and enjoys sleeping on my lap. He is a real cuddle-bug.❤️ What type of pigeon do you think he might be? I am just asking for fun and interest. I am not a breeder or fancier per se. I am just a person who raised a baby pigeon and curious what might be in my boy's family tree. Thank-you.❤️🐦❤️

    I have a brown or chocolate check hen and silver cock and i dont know there backgrounds, they bread a lighter red check cock and a black hen with some white flight, does this mean my birds carry blue split or black spread? The second batches were both blue with brown bars and dark gray tails which i called possible andalusions, currently i named it brown bars because they dont look like my other silver bars. What do u think is with these birds?

    Thank you for taking the time to go into the Genetic aspect of the sport. I've got a couple of questions for you.
    I've acquired two black tipplers with bars.
    Black Cock with Bar
    Black Hen with Bar
    My friend stated that the breed Solid Yellows and Solid Duns.
    Can you collaborate on this genetic makeup?
    Best Regards,
    George Cardona Jr

      @TheSanctuaryPR Před 8 lety

      Corbin,
      I will definitely take a look at your video.
      If their nest mates should I breed them?
      My goal is to line breed with this particular pair, but I'm not sure if I should breed these two black together since I'm assuming that they are nest mates.
      What would you do?

    • @FlyingTipplers
      @FlyingTipplers  Před 8 lety

      +George Cardona Jr Should be fine however there is no reason either not to put them on something else like blue bars. If you start getting weak babies you know it's time to call if quits.

    Sir is it true that solid yellow or dun colored pigeons have more weaker feathers (or wings) than The Blue Bars & Blue Checkerds? Thanks for informative video like this.

    • @FlyingTipplers
      @FlyingTipplers  Před 7 lety

      Some people say that: same with white feathers. I've never noticed any problems and if you look at people with competition birds like Homers and Tipplers it doesn't seem to be the case.

    I want to breed daughter to father and son's to mother to get the wanted colors but does that lead to chicks been born weak and die within a yr or so? any help would be helpful.

    • @FlyingTipplers
      @FlyingTipplers  Před 8 lety +1

      Probably not. Your mileage may vary. All breeds are inbreed for to out breed is to cross breed =] (I'm going to do a video on that later). I have no idea the background of your birds, how tight they've been bred etc. My advice is to do it without shame until you have problems. But only do it if you have to. My brothers got a mom to son pair now. They are having babies come out missing some feathers. I'd reckon it's safer to do with flying breeds than show. I don't have great experience on it but from what I've seen the babies usually have obvious problems at birth, never heard of them dieing a year in.
