No one, including me, has ever been banned for using game filters and changing the graphics settings in the game files. However, there is ALWAYS a chance that EAC changes their methodology for something in the future that may end up detecting this. In the event that this happens, you are the one responsible. ➤ What is sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality and sg.ReflectionQuality in my GameUserSettings.ini file?
These are likely due to DBD being updating to UE5. Reflection quality just affects reflections, so if you don't care about that, you could turn it to 0. Reflections eat up a TON of resources, so putting it on 0 will help fps. Global Illumination is basically how light bounces and interacts with its environment (i.e. light bouncing off a blue wall will turn the light slightly blue around that wall). This also uses quite a bit of resources, but with UE5 it probably doesn't use as much anymore. It will probably make your game look a lot better if you keep it at 3 or 4, but you'll gain fps if you put it to 0.
➤ Why does my skillcheck look blurry with Kyto's Reshade?
I've gotten this question a few times before, but I've never seen this issue on my end, so I'm not 100% sure what the fix is. I would recommend turning off each individual Reshade setting one-by-one to see which effect might be causing the issue and then adjusting the settings within that effect.

In his game he’s chill and all. Doesn’t take the game « too seriously », it’s quite the opposite actually. What he is serious about is the overall quality of life of the game
Just to note: BHVR will not ban for anything mentioned in this video. However, the only thing that could potentially get you banned is custom icons because EAC might pick it up and initiate a ban. Reshade is whitelisted in EAC so that will never be a problem
@viperpit-lr2rp are you talking about the fact of Reshade being whitelisted? cause if so then you can look it up, or if you're talking about the 1st half of the comment, its been publicly stated by BHVR that they won't manually ban people because of custom icons

Custom icons are no risk, been using custom icons for over 4 years now
& Even if you do get banned there is a high likelyhood of getting unbanned if you just explain what happened. They have measures to retroactively check what or how someone got banned.
@blackestmamba they aren't 0 risk, but they are low risk, it's like speeding by like 3 mph, realistically you won't get pulled over and given a ticket, but, there is still a chance.

I think its important to have shadows on to see the shadow of the killer (or survivors in some cases) when the killer mindgames while looping. It will depend on the map and which way the lightning comes from.

Ok so really funny story custom icons have a true 0% ban rate because when bhvr tried banning them people got mad at them for not banning actual cheaters so they backed down from banning custom icons real quick.

A higher frame cap than your refresh rate is still beneficial as it lowers your frame time.
You can then keep Vsync on to avoid screen tearing but that does hurt your frame time slightly.

Make sure you turn Anti-Aliasing off, because having it on makes the windows of houses like on haddonfield more blurry making it harder to track the killer

I disagree, don't put it to 3 or 4 if you hate the "bluriness", but with the new implementation of FSR just max out the sharpness value and you're good to go. Plus if you're using Reshade you should never have any trouble with AA, i tested each value (in the gameusersettings) and the artifacts that you can see when disabled i find them way more infuriating than the so-said bluriness. IMO. FSR is a gift from the old Gods, use it.
@@heysoupra This game has good rendering, it barely has any artifacts, I don't see what there is to be bothered by. A bit of edges may be aliased, but you said it yourself, slap on something less agressive like SMAA in reshade and problem solved.
It's a competitive advantage even, where as sharpening an already blurred image does nothing in that regard. There's a reason competetive games don't force AA. If anything, postfx sharpening makes the game look grainy which isn't looking too pretty either.
Of course if you can afford to run 150% resolution scale then the stock AA starts to be comparable. You do you, but this game absolutely does not need such an agressive AA method like the stock TAA is.
if only they added TAA or DLSS to the game.. but it took us 7+ years to get resolution options and v-sync in-game so I don't have hope.

This video is honestly unreal. I have a relatively expensive computer with a 3070 but have only been able to really run the game in low settings. This is life changing. SO simple, directly to the point, easy to understand and clear. I'm not a boomer but I DO NOT have the kind of knowledge to have just done all this without this video. THANKS KYOTO!
I have a 3060ti and I run the game at max settings and 120 FPS. You should check your PC to see if everything is fine, brother.

@@EddoPanamenyo DX12, animation quality (aka screen space reflections) shadow quality. Those are wild guesses of what could be happening, i tried every setting possible throughout my 3k hours of "experience" and seen MUCH difference when lowering animation quality (which gave me 40fps drops sometimes, on a 75hz monitor with V-Sync, for a comfortable 30 fps when a gen pops or a survivors gets downed (from my killer games), unplayable sometimes.
Could be anything tho, try and tweak a few things, you'll learn much from it !

You should not be getting low setting performance with a 3070, I have a 3070 ti at 1440p and I get 120 fps on high or ultra settings, you may need more RAM or a better CPU? I am running a 5800X with 32GB's of RAM, and the game stutters a lot on a normal HDD, putting it on an SSD def fixed all the stutters I used to get. Make sure you do not run -DX12 on launch parameters, Kyto does have a lot of helpful info but he seems to not know what a lot of settings do, and -DX12 will not make your game smoother in most cases, it will actually make it worse.

FSR on console is actually pretty good. I'm glad they added it. Also, these tips are great for any games. I didn't know half of this stuff. I typically had my PC running at high performance in game mode, which is why I always stuck to console because my CPU was probably screaming. Now, I can probably go back to PC gaming. Thanks!

hey so recently i updated my graphics driver and now my dbd will crash after every game or if im lucky like every third game right after i join back to lobby. Sometimes it rarley crashes on start , is there any fix to this and "-dx12" makes dbd not start at all
Some graphics settings like ambient-oclusion settings doesn't do anything for DBD and changing it on global setting can fuck some games (especially old ones) so I wouldn't recommend to change.
Low latency mode is kinda broken and can add more latency depending on your setup of vsync,gsync and other things that mess with frames.
You don't need insanely low latency for DBD anyways so off is fine imo.

I just wanna say, I'm playing this game on a hp laptop with 8g ram, and it went from a constant 13 fps to consistent 40-50 fps, thanks a million lol.

25:56 I feel that its important to mention that you should edit the balanced plan and put a 0 in the "Turn off hard disk after" option. Even if you don't have a Hard Drive, it's still a good idea.

Nvidia Filters are visable on OBS you just have to tick a box when you add the source of the game so that it records overlays.
There is option - capture third-party overlays in OBS game capture. When you check it, it will allow you to see applied Nvidia filters in your stream.

PS for the direct X 12 option
Even if you are on a low end pc try it if your gpu supports it. Im on a 7 years old laptop with 940mx(imagine it like gt 1030 for laptops) and because my videocard supports dx12 I decided to try it. The game runs much much better and when I tried the sm3 option, the dx12 ran better. I havent tried the other direcr x 10 option but because my game runs good I wont touch it
Also I recommend the smaller hud because I play on 720p and it makes the hud look like 1080p lol
6:28 This is just the graphics preset in the ingame settings. Low is 0, Ultra is 3. I doubt it does anything if you have set the scalability values manually and have it read only.
20:21 Nice that you said this, I often see people recommending "Prefer Maximum Performance" globally and it makes me cringe. That would just up your gpu clocks and therefore power draw in desktop applications for no benefit.

Last time i checked to download re-shade for The Sims 4 it had been taken down, so be aware of that anybody planning to use
*DO NOT ENABLE RESIZABLE BAR ON GLOBAL PROFILE AS SHOWN IN VIDEO*
It will decrease performance in many older games and some newer ones.
The Resizable bar section is just completely false. If it says YES in the System information, it means your GPU, CPU and Motherboard is compatible and is enabled in the bios. The driver will use this feature in SELECTED games (by nvidia) to get up to 10% better fps. However, nvidia doesnt really update the driver list of games that uses resizable bar, and thats where Nvidia Profile Inspector can be used to force enable Resizable bar on any game (note in many older games you will actually loose fps with this feature).
If the System information says that Resizeable bar is not enabled, it means your GPU, CPU or Motherboard is not compatible or the feature is disabled in the motherboard bios. Using nvidia profile inspector in this case wont do anything.
So guys; If your system supports Resizable bar, use nvidia profile inspector to enable the feature for Dead by Daylight (ONLY DBD! Or else this can decrease performance in other games). Compare the performance with an without Resizable bar to see if it helps performance or decreases it.

Hi Kyto do you have any tips on optimizing sound in this game? I’ve noticed that I can typically hear a lot more breathing pain and footsteps when I’m watching streamers and CZcams, even on my phone speaker, compared to when I’m playing the actual game. The chase music typically makes it so I can’t hear anything. Someone recommended the normalize loudness setting but I don’t have that setting on my computer

set your fps to 120, even on 60hz to reduce input lag.
this is great, the graphics are much clearer and look far better with no performance drops, however the character's hair looks crosshatched and i dont really like the look of it. is there a way to change that? what setting would be in control of that?
I was always a playstation player and now i bought dbd on pc so this should be useful
please help. i downloaded reshade & customs icons and some optimizations tweaks no problem but for some reason every time i launch dbd my character saved slots (like skins/perks/items) are from before i installed everything. for example i started playing a new character since installing these mods and i didnt play them before this so now every time i launch dbd i have to re-equip everything onto that character (skins/perks/items). its not a big issue but a bit annoying re-equiping everything on every launch. please help someone.
I dont know if that is how it should be but since I play DBD with Xbox Game Pass in the pc looks like I cant do certain things like putting shaders, but the configs are crazy ty

Using the scalabilities at 4 makes my game crash occasionally. Guess I'll try DirectX12 if that is more stable.
I haven't really noticed any difference in visuals though but for me, it would be nice to have it looking as good as possible.

Advanced system settings -> performance settings-> you said if you're on low end pc to click adjust for best performance then check a few boxes. when I check the boxes it changes to custom instead of adjust for best performance. which is better, do you think?

If you run the game at 4K (or higher), you won't need strong antialiasing. 0-1 should be good for settings.

I run window mode because i have a Samsung Odyssey G9. Native resolution is 5120 x 1440 and DBD doesn't really support it so i play one half of the screen with the game and the other half with my stream or whatever else i need up, such as discord. Thats a reason to run window mode.

Question - What does "aim assist" actually do? I was looking for a way to disable the aim dressing thing so that survivors turning corners during a lunge won't dodge a hit by lunge getting shortened and hitting the wall, since it happens so often. Does that setting affect that? And if so, is it worth keeping on regardless?
So for the resizable bar option I don't have it in the help settings period so until someone can clarify what to do in that instance I'm going to go off of the idea that it's unsupported and not there for that reason.
