According to a new report from Europe, as per AutoCar magazine, battery electric versions of the Duke and Qashqai small SUVs, along with the X-Trail mid-size SUV, will hit European showrooms between 2025 and 2027.These new Nissan models will sit on electric skateboard platforms underneath the likes of the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric and Nissan Ariya electric vehicles, with the Duke reportedly slated for the initial launch.These three new SUVs are part of plans for hybrid and electric cars to comprise 50% of Nissan sales globally by 2030. However, in Europe, a target of 75% hybrid and electric sales has been set for 2026.A new generation lithium-ion battery pack, reportedly confirmed late last year, is expected to come to a production car within a couple of years, promising better energy density, efficiency, and lower costs.The X-Trail E-Power is currently on sale in Australia, while the Qashqai E-Power is set for release towards the end of this year.
