  • SINGAPORE: The mother of a 17-month-old baby found floating in the sea near Bedok Jetty last month will be remanded another two weeks for further psychiatric assessment.
Forty-four-year-old Lim Ann Nee was charged with the murder of her son, Emilien Lacroix.
The crime was allegedly committed between 3pm and 6pm on November 25 in the sea off the East Coast Park.
Close to 20 family members and friends including Lim's husband were present for the short hearing in court on Tuesday.
Lim's lawyer, Mr Anand Nalachandran, also made two requests for him to have a few minutes to speak with his client, as well as for her husband and brother to speak to her in the lock-up.
Both requests were allowed by the district judge.
Lim's case will be mentioned again on January 7.
If convicted of murder, Lim faces the death penalty.
