Luis Miguel's voice is so beautiful and I will associate all of his music with happy moments. Luis Miguel is a phenomenal singer.
I first found out about Luis Miguel while watching the movie Speechless in the early 90s and although I didn’t know Spanish I was amazed at his voice. Fast forward to today, I have 10+ albums of his, saw him in concert thrice, and my wife and I will be seeing him every time he comes back to Dallas now that we live here. Luis Miguel is without a doubt my favorite singer!! Thanks for the react vid and please do more of LuisMi!! Most of your subscribers have no idea that they just watched a legend who’s known as the Sun of Mexico. He’s a once in a generation talent and you need to check him out more. He’s been singing since he was 10 and his vocals are still amazingly strong. If you ever get a chance to see him in concert, don’t think, just go!
Thanks for the reaction Sabina! The author of the song is Ruben Fuentes who wrote the song in the sixties - don't remember the exact year. There are a lot of different stories about how and why Ruben Fuentes came up with the song but Fuentes himself later confirmed what inspired him to write 'La Bikina'. He was having a walk in the beach with his son, who was just a little kid, and they saw a few girls in the beach wearing bikinis. His son then told him that all women wearing bikinis should be called 'bikinas'...he then went and started writing the song inspired in those women they saw on the beach wearing bikinis and the made-up word his son had created to refer to them.

Yes, "Bikina" is a lady. The author of the song said that his kid used to call pretty women at the beach like that: Bikina, so he brought it to the song. He just invented the word for this song. It has no meaning otherwise.
Rumor has it that the composer wrote this music for a TV show intro back in the day. Its title was just «The beginning», but it was so acclaimed that he (kind of) translated it as «La bikina» just because of how the words sounded. Lyrics came later,
BTW it's not a choir, that is a Mariachi ensemble, from Mexico. Love Luis Miguel, he is hands down one of the best live performers from all over the world, not just Latin America.
