Thank you, Jon. This vegetable is so good. When I lived in Nakhon Phanom in the late 1970s I would order this delicious stir fried food. Sadly, it is banned as an invasive species in Florida. If you've never tried pad pak bung fai daeng (stir fried morning glory), you do not know what you're missing. Florida should lift the ban and control it by letting us eat it.

    • @legendneverdie294

I don't understand why it was banned as an invasive food in Florida ? It is a nutritious vegetable. And provide so much vitamin A, C for human health. Except people they grow it with chemical fertilizes, insecticides and polluted water.

6:28 The consciousness of the plant has understanding that it initially wants to grow upwards out of the soil towards the light. When it breaks through into the light it still has momentum from all that force of energy directed at going up into the light. Once it achieves the height of having a stem in the air and in the sunlight, it then decides it high enough and knows its place as being grounded and has a sense of its different parts and their environment and if you cut it leaving the stem exposed to the air and light it "feels" it's high enough and grows a vine sideways. If you cut it close to the ground the consciousness in that part of the plant wants to push it upwards still because either that part has only that consciusness to grow up, or the whole plant has feeling of individual parts and senses it wants to make
a tall stem again. This is awesome to me because I am amazed at it. Thanks for sharing!
it's so amazing how consciousness does this in the plant!

Also, the leaves are good fish "sinigang" especially milkfish sour soup with water spinach! The morning glories in America are toxic the ones that are planted for flowers, but these are different morning glories: water spinach, and also sweet potatoes are in the family of morning glories. In the USA, we only eat the tubers or roots of sweet potatoes but in the Philippines, that is the best vegetables to top any stews!

There other edible species in Europe. Once, I went walking with a group of plant experts in the hills in Italy near Como, 99% of what we consider weeds, resulted to be edible plants. In Germany, in the countryside near Stuttgart, a local woman showed me some nuts you can use to make vegetable oil. I used to collect nettles, yes they sting you, but they are so delicious, to avoid getting hurt, put them in boiling water for a couple of minutes and then cook them as you wish. In Italy, we make "risotto con le ortiche". Another excellent vegetable which grows everywhere in Europe is dandelion; a little bitter but so good for you. You can eat both the flower and the leaves. There are tons of books about edible plants in Europe but, if possible, find some elderly people that can show you in person, it's much easier. There are also wild asparagus, berries and mushrooms which grow widely in Europe. I live in Cambodia now so I can't show you 😔 but sure enough you will find someone!

@@miracleshappen4483 Oh if it is for that: I can show you many edible wild plants here or so-called weeds. I already use them. What interests me when it comes to "Morning Glory" it is the re-grow time it has. When you have small spaces all is about optimising how you use it. I collect plenty of food in the forest as well. Dandelion is growing in my garden as "food" btw. because it's enough if a small piece remains in the soil to regrow after harvesting the plant and the root. If you don't lik the bitterness, leave it in cold water for approx. an hour and almost nothing will be left. You can use the roots to roast them and use it as a coffee substitute and the flowers are used to make "false honey". Really I am interested to eventually have this plant in my garden due to it's fast re-grow rate.

@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy thanks for replying so quickly. We usually sprinkle salt on them or put them in salt water, either in the early mornings or in the evenings when they come out of hiding. It does kill them but (1) We have to use a lot of salt
      (2) The next day will be a lot of snails again.
Nobody knows what else to do because they multiply so fast.

The Asian countries know how to eat the weeds. I am thai but live in the PNW of the US. We have much morning glory but it looks same but different. I wonder if the morning glory that grows in my part of the world is edible. I cannot find any info on it. I love thai morning glory.
