    Beautiful cup! Those rhinestones are gorgeous! I definitely need to try the honeycomb pattern because It takes me way longer to do the scatter method - probably because I pick through stones too much. Thanks for your videos. It’s nice to hear someone speak properly these days.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, the honeycomb pattern is so much easier than the scatter method for me. I started one using a scatter method and I am the same way. It's hard for me to just randomly pick up stones to put down:)

    So I am a beginner and let me start by saying that your video was super helpful! Saw from beginning to end. One question, I am wanting to add rhinestones to a cowbell (can you tell I am from Texas?) and I was curious how important it is to sand it first? Is that necessary or how would it affect the outcome? Thank you!

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před rokem

      When I sand my tumblers, I just barely sanding to add a tiny bit of roughness to the coating. I believe it helps keep the stones on a bit better. If the bell is for you and mainly as decor, you may be fine without it. But I don’t spend more than a minute simply roughing up the surface.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 7 měsíci

      I understand. I'm big on them too. You can measure from the top all the way around to see if spacing is the same. I now tend to turn my tumbler over and put it on the table to let the stones come down to the flat surface of the table.

    Does the liquid fusion come out your bottle easily? I have small bottles with fine tips and it's so hard to get the liquid fusion to come out.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 2 lety

      It becomes difficult to squeeze through the metal precision tips, which is why I remove them. So much easier then.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 2 lety

      @@juliemarlin3291 check out 19 minutes in and you can see how I keep it. Basically, I put a pin in the tip, then wrap it in plastic, then put a rubber band around the lid.

      Thank you. I cut the words out with a laser and then hot glued them to the thin panel behind them. I had painted the back panel white and I spray painted the wood that I cut in the laser before I cut the words. I masked it to keep the fronts clean.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn

      Yes. I am currently working on a zebra print tumbler using black rhinestones and crystal rhinestones. You can use any color you want to use, but the background color will make a difference in how it comes out.
