We’re a couple from Canada who loves to travel! We were traveling Asia in 2019, and were forced to go home because of the “C” word.
Now we’re back!
We are currently traveling in Sri Lanka. We started in Colombo, & are making our way down the south west coast.
We started in Hikkaduwa , & today we are headed south to Unawatuna.
We are on a budget- so here’s the low down on the transportation, & stay. And of course some scenery:)

well it certainly has changed since i was there in -88. i remember the beach to have a more gentle slope towards the sea, no parasols, no beach chairs or amenities, no eye-sore buildings. it was all pure and pristine back then. i think i wanna remember it that way.
There is Jungle beach near unawatuna other side of the bend walking distance or 5 min via tuk, worth watching since you are near

Take the train to Baticalow. You will love Arugam Bay, Kumana wildlife park in the east coast where you find the best beaches in the country
Nice bus journey. For every tourists these bus rides are crazy 🤣🤣🤣Nice vlog. Peace Pagoda was built with the Japanese help .they were practicing zen budhisum. Srilankan temples therawada budhisum practicing style is much different.

If you are still in Unawatuna our friend Chandani has a small boutique shop almost next to Taproban beach house, she sells cups of tea and all kinds of biscuits,coconuts etc.
We can Recommend Sampson sea food restaurants

Chandani lost her house in the Tsunami, we helped to rebuild.
We have known her since 1999.
