- Buell Suspension / Brakes/ Charging System ALL FIXED and the bike is now ready to ride! This Buell Cyclone has taken a bunch of work to get right but as of now the crucial safety and reliability components have been addressed making the bike road worthy.
As of now the main focus will be on the exhaust, guages, and eventually the paint and tail but I am in no rush here. If you have any information on repairing these gauges please leave it below!

I'm sure Buell had their reasons, but it seems to me that putting that rear shock under the bike and exposing it to rocks and debris thrown by the front tire is counter productive. Glad you got it fixed, my man. Really enjoy your videos.
Low center of gravity, lower weight, I'm sure they found better handling too. If its on a Buell its definitely for good reason. It was a cool bike to have
Love your content. Confident speaker and interesting builds. I can see you in the 100s of thousands of subscribers!
I appreciate that Lars! I hope to get there someday and make this my only "job"
Great fix on that exhaust bolt!
Also, I found the shifting was improved slightly by cutting about an inch off of the long banana shift lever. Makes for a shorter moment arm.
Thank ya! I may try that one. Test riding the bike today.
Very enjoyable. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thanks Mev. I've actually sold this bike to a friend you see in another video with the S3T
Awesome job. Love seeing ya bring new life into the M2👏🤘🇺🇸
Thank you! This bike deserves it! It lives to fight another day!
Outstanding young Man. Cheap fun Love them old Tubers. Had a 2000 M2. Keeping a eye on the Buell market for a winter project, Get a AutoMeter Tach with the big face . and shift light. That would be kickass.
Thanks Dan! I'll get this thing sorted soon but we are miles ahead of where it started.
Great work on the old tuber! Can't wait to see how she rides.
Just finished a 140 plus mile ride today and it was fantastic! Some tweaks to make still but overall the bike is so much fun and very comfortable
Awesome content and awesome presentation, thank you. I'm watching from Adelaide, South Australia and loving it.
Thank ya much John! Glad you like it
Nice video, have 98' Buell cyclone needs some updates and fixes. All keep watching see if theirs something i can use. Same problems with brakes and speedometer. Thank you
Can't wait to see more of the Buell.
Definitely check out the latest video on it. Just going for a ride after sorting some fuel delivery issues!
This is motivation for my X1 build!
Looks great man.
I appreciate it! I can't wait to ACTUALLY make it look good lol
@@BrickHouseBuilds yea, that is always the struggle as a mech... Ive always had great running bikes with everything working like new, but i never get around to making them look like it!
Your a pretty talented young dude. Wish my repairs would be so easy!
Thanks Steve, not sure I'd go with easy though lol
Just picked up an 02 Cyclone m2 and so far the speedo quit working and needs tires! I’m in Colorado but seems like a fair price so I swooped it up! Thanks for the info
Id check that speedo sensor first. It fixed this bike and is apparently common. Should be fun for ya!
Love your channel!
Many thanks David!
I'll subscribe, but I'm waiting on the Buell riding clips!! I just bought a 2002 XB9R for $500 bucks. Missing a few parts, electricals dead as a doornail. I sorted the electricals! Gauges, lights work, no starter action. Bike has 25,954 miles on it. This is gonna be fun!
I appreciate it. The next videos show all the riding clips actually. I have sold the bike already but it was to a friend so it may pop into a future video
Just subbed to you dude
Love seeing these bikes being saved from turning into a mutant build
Well welcome aboard! I appreciate ya checking the videos out. Lots of projects and bikes getting a new lease on life
@@BrickHouseBuilds the speed sensor is likely your culprit btw
They commonly fail on these bikes
Ive never heard of a speedo fail
Luckly a speed sensor from a sporty of the same year works
That's what i used to fix mine
Awesome 👍
Thank ya thank ya
I just picked up an 02 M2 and am looking at possibilities for some parts when they need replaced, rear shock being one of them. Currently need an ignition coil and plugs and wires to get her ready
Should be a fun bike!
That’s my hope, needing to get it road worthy fast though… $5/gal is killing me in the jeep 😂
Have not heard the word "shockalocka" in a long time. Great video. How is the super glue on the fork stanchions holding up?
Holding up great. My buddy owns the bike now so this season we will get more testing
I love that bike.I have an XR.Theres a bit more than a sportster to the XR.It has the Buell crank and totally different oil cooled heads. It still weighs a ton(250Kg stock)It didnt sell so got fucked off.Instead of HD doing the right thing and putting the 90bhp engine into there sportsters the penny pinchers just carried on with the old motor.Anyway got loads of your back catalogue to get through👌
Just seeing this comment as it was flagged from the language. Ive never ridden an xr1200 but they look great and Ill probably have one some day to try out.
@@BrickHouseBuilds Have to watch my language BJ 😉
@@samjoentess9168 doesn't bother me its just the CZcams comment filter. All good!
Any chance you could do a video showing how to check/adjust the timing on this?
I've already sold the bike last year so I can't help ya there. Check out my sportster camshaft install as I believe I show timing in that

@@BrickHouseBuilds oh ok lol, I’ll definitely do that. Thanks man!
i have 1999 buell x1 and i need to fix my rear shock, Do you know how to disassemble the rear shock absorber? or do you have the diagram
I had mine rebuilt as explained.
I have a 99 Buill lightning X1 problem holding front brake pressure what could it be put a new part front master cylinder worked eight times and then failed ???? What could it be?
You would either have fluid bleeding out of somewhere or just not properly bled.
@@BrickHouseBuilds I tried bleeding this over and it's not bleeding or getting a stiff lever that's what happened to the old front brake master cylinder so I thought new one worked for only about 10 pumps then it lost pressure that would be very dangerous on the road I'm still baffled on this 99 Buell lightning brake problem back brake does not work very good either I watched one of your videos and there was a brake clip bent I haven't checked into that yet let me know if you have any other ideas for the front brake greatly appreciated my friend
@@mikeyamin4010 To me it just sounds like it isn't bled. It can take a while and if it works for say 10 pumps then loses its pressure its likely still working air up through the line
@@BrickHouseBuilds ty I will try that my friends
Hey man, do you mind sharing how much the rear shock rebuild costed you?
I want to say it was less than $300 which I thought was a great deal. The linked shop does great work and are super professional
What's the parts name for the charging system called ?
Hey Hector, that is linked in the description
How do u test a bad voltage regulator. My m2 cyclone drains the battery when the bike is off. It has a push button starter also. What should I check first. Possibly bad ground bleeding voltage from battery
You can do a diode test with a multimeter. There are a bunch of videos on the Harley reg/rec testing. These are closer to the sportsters in design
@@BrickHouseBuilds thank you. What do you think would be killing the battery when the bike is off ?
Hard to say without being there but something is obviously drawing current
