As a beginner, you have no idea whether this video is helpful or not. In fact it can lead you in the wrong direction. Their were little to no details- it's like explaining to someone what a screw driver is - yet the end goal is to build a house. You might build a shoe box after this video but we need to learn how to build or at least fix a house. I guess in Mosh's defense it's too much to put into one vid... figured I'd put this out there even if it helps one person. Start looking up what you actually need to do on the job. Break down job requirements and research them individually. Things like javascript forms, crud apps, and mock-ups could be valuable. Granted crud is backend but Incase you want to go full stack

    Some Tips:
    1. Read the books Atomic Habits and Deep Work
    2. Understand WHY you want to learn programming and keep reinforcing this to yourself
    3. Show up EVERYDAY without fail. Commit to 60 minutes a day, make it a habit. This is the difference between success and failure. remember, most people quit when it gets tough!
    4. When you are learning, practice Deep work. This means no social media, no phone, you want to be 100% focused during your daily study session.
    5. Do this every day for 1 year. If you miss a day, do not miss a second day. Never miss twice!
You've got this, stop thinking about instant results, in 1 year from now you will change your life, permanently. Focus on the daily process of showing up and studying, not the results.

the 5th and the 3rd are THE most important tips here. learning can only be done with consistency, sure you might "learn" stuff if you study every now and then but that is just memorising a script for a show and shouldnt be considered "learning" as it requires a fundamental understanding of the nature of the language or anything else you are learning

From my learning experiences, after learning HTML, CSS, JS, React and totally struck how to build projects ?
If I take simple website to build, am totally struck.
Can you cover a video on how to build project on our own after learning technical details ?
e.g. I know it takes x, y, z to make cake but don't know how to make cake.
Most of the authors out there on youtube covers technical details very well, including yourself but I didn't find anyone explaining how to build projects after learning technical details as that's what will land you 1st job.
    Thanks in advance

I have spent over 6 years learning C# in unity3D, along side HTML, CSS, Javascript, Jquery, NodeJS, EJS, and sass. I have use a little mongoDB aswell. However its been about 3 years since i've touch any of it. I got so worked up that I felt I waisted the majority of my 20's (I am 29 now) learning programming, always feeling like I have no idea what I am doing, I don't feel I know anywhere near enough to get a job, and therefor I never will. So I gave up sadly, I am considering trying again I still remember the basics but yeah would need alot of google/stack overflow to get anything accomplished. I really... really... enjoying coding, debugging, and finishing a project even thoough I've only finished like 2 basic websites(I am very much a perfectionist.). Any advice?

    • @SmittyInparadis
      @SmittyInparadis Před 2 lety +5

Bro that’s more than enough to get a job. A lot of jobs you work in a team setting. As Much as people make it seem like they’re “one-man army’s” that’s just simply not the case. You literally only need to know HTML, JS, CSS to land a job. It will be a shit tier job but that’s just to get your foot in the door, see if you’re actually cut out to be a developer & if so then in 6-8months you leave for an increase in pay & knowledge.
Not everyone can work at google or all the top brands & truth be told. The work life balance at those places are usually shit, managers that power trip, etc
Work for a mom & pop spot, technology is booming & every business needs a developer literally

Learn what the script is, it is a program with inputs, and outputs, and by the way, know where your inputs are in the context of javascript, they where the events fire. A click or a press of a button is the begginning, how you react to these is the end. Once you know this it does not matter it is javascript, python or C, you will find your way around.
