Another possibility could also be:
If Steve sacrifise himself and saves Nancy, she will finally realize that she loves him. Since these words were all what he wanted to hear all this time. But it's going to be too late. He dies in her arms. Nancy and Jonathan break up and Nancy stays single.
Would really make sense tho bc if Steve doesn’t get with her I doubt they’ll make Nancy and Jonathan break up unless she is to get with someone else
maybe just maybe Steve harrington will die in the most heroic way by sacrificing his life for either Johnathan or Nancy but it will also be a sad death

Hmm i think i disagree, they showed a leak of jancy in a car but that doesn't mean endgame. They set up a stancy possibility strongly in 4. As well as like you say his death possibly hinted, but i don't think he'll die. They've missed their window, and they know fans are assuming he's going to die. But i do think steve is one of the safest imo.
He's baited so much, if it happened im not sure it could be as epic and impacful as it could of been:/
I feel it's 50/50 if he goes for good. I don't like to think of the most of the mains going forever though when I think what could be in store next season. I think season 2 Nancy and Steve moments when they were dating were cute moments. Like in the car when she was looking over his paper. He was insecure about if it was any good at all. It made him more human. They said I love you to each other. The hug in the library. It sounds like a shame a bit if they never date again. Unless Nancy is firm on not wanting to build a family like Steve really wants to. I feel like they need another conversation. I can see Steve putting himself in harms way to be a hero but I can also see Dustin, Robin, or Nancy trying to pull him back asking him not to. It just depends.

Or it could be that Jonathan sacrifices himself for Nancy or Will and then Nancy gets with Steve
- So i think if Steve is going to die, then he would sacrifise himself for Nancy.
- If he gets his "real happy ending" we all know what that means.
-If he won't end up with Nancy but is going to live, then he will stay single forever, because the duffer brothers revealed that there won't be any new characters in season 5. Means no new love interest for him.
So its either him single, with Nancy or dead.
I 100% agree with this Theory I think Steve is most likely gonna die as well in this final season hear me out but he is a fan favorite and you know what The Duffers did to fan favorites in the past kill them off Steve was originally supposed to die in Season 1 but The Duffers decided to keep him around and they loved Joe Kerry’s stunts on set as much as we love Steve I think he could most likely sacrifice himself to save Dustin and everyone else cause that what his role seems to be hinting towards and it makes a lot of sense and Steve was pretty close to death in the last season after being devoured by those Demobats but he survived however with this final season coming I hate to say it but I think Steve will actually bite the bullet this time around this last season is gonna be a tear jerker for sure that’s going to shattered a lot of our hearts but If Steve does die I think the best time to kill him off would be around episode 5 or 6 cause I can’t see him surviving and making it to the last two episodes or so Steve is 100% a goner and is story will most likely come to an end in a heroic way.

Steve dying on Dustin in S5 wouldn't be a suitable ending to either of the characters storylines, especially considering the ramifications on Dustin Eddies S4 finale death had, & is going to have on him during the opening episodes of S5!
While Nancy was first pencilled in to end up with Jonathan, i wouldn't be surprised if Steve's popularity has changed the Duffers early plans, & that Stancy wins at the end, with Jonathan being the one with the heroic death! They've been setting up Nancy & Jonathan breakup throughout S3 & S4 coupled with rekindling romance with Steve, & so any other way makes all thst build up rather pointless!

To me it wouldn't make sense if Steve sacrifises for Dustin. Sure they are best buddies, but from a writer point of view it won't complete each others storyarc. First of all Dustin already lost Eddie in season 4, so he won't lose Steve, too. Especially since he said to Steve: "If you die, i die"
A heroic death makes much more sense for Jonathan, since he was never portrayed as a hero before. It would fit his ending and storyarc perfectly i think. From a creep and stalker to a true hero, who is going to sacrifise himself for Will i think, because Will is going to play a huge role in the final season. The duffers confirmed it. If Steve would die it's like "A hero dies hero": that won't be special at all and it's very predictable.
So i strongly believe, Steve is save.
Also in terms of Nancy and Steve, i personally think, if they end up together it would complete their storyarcs also very well. Not only it is full circle and the meaning of "right person, wrong time" but also for their whole journey and development.
In terms of Nancy: she will finally realize that she loves Steve, after she couldn't say that to him back then. Kinda like Mike, who also couldn't say that to Eleven at first. This realization is going to be huge for Nancy just like the following acceptance:
If Nancy comes back to Steve, it also shows that she finally accepts barbs death for good, since it was probably the main reason why they broke up in the first place.
And for Steve: He finally will get a WELL deserved happy ending, not only because he suffered so much because of his Lovesickness, but also his whole development to become a better man will finally play out for him! He will finally get his personal reward. And that is winning Nancys heart. He wanted to be loved by her in the first place, not by a random girl.
Although Jancy was very likely the original plan of an endgame, i think that stancy is supposed to be endgame as soon as the duffers decided not killing off Steve. Even at the end of season 2, when Steve looked at Nancy at the prom, you can hear the song "twist of fate" in the background. This song is about a second chance. I think that was a big hint for them. That was also the reason why the duffers didn't give Steve a new love interest ( they let him act awkward for a reason when he met other girls. He was kinda lost in terms of dating. ) And i think that's why Nancys and Jonathans relationship also started to crumble in season 3. I think if you see all these little hints and signs and if you put everything together, piece by piece, it all makes good sense.
Also i always found it odd that Nancy and Jonathan never said "i love you" to each other. In season 4 there was a scene where Nancy explained towards Fred, why she loves Jonathan, when in fact she actually decribed Steve the best without even noticing. I think that was also a big hint and foreshadowing scene that she actually loves the type of man Steve became.

I have to disagree with this theory. I don't think any of the characters chances of survival hinge on their romantic lives like that. I suspect the Duffers heard that bringing back the love triangle was not a favoured move for S4 and simply dropped it. Similar to how they dropped Kali and the lost sister storyline when that didn't go over well. Steve may not get a love interest in S5 or it may come in the form of a hint in an epilogue that he's met someone who isn't Nancy. I think the Stancy/Jancy love triangle was resolved in S4 when Nancy hugged Jonathan. I also don't think it's true that Nancy is the only woman for Steve-in S3, he admitted to Robin (whilst under the influence of a drug that forces the person to tell the truth) that he didn't love Nancy anymore. It was quite bizarre that they brought the love triangle back in S4 and felt forced, but Steve's easily led by others into thinking he should feel something when he doesn't-similar to how he thought he liked Robin because Dustin told him he should-when he just felt a friendship towards her. In S4, it was Dustin, Eddie and Robin pushing the love triangle-not Steve or Nancy.I think Steve will get beat up because he always does-but I think he'll make it out. The Duffers have made it clear that they're not about killing main characters and they're definitely not going to kill off a fan favourite like Steve and sacrifice any opportunity for a spin-off. If Joe Keery would agree to it...
There was a big hint in S3, that Steve didn't mean it, what he said. Notice how he said that, AFTER he puked everything out from the truth serum. So he was able to "lie" again. He was still effected by side effects, so he couldn't think clearly, like Robin literally pointed out. Nancy was a big topic in their conversation for a reason. As a hint that she isn't forgotten yet for steve. Robin said "I'm not Nancy Wheeler" on pupose, because she exactly knew that he was still not over her. At the end of S3 there was also a reason why Steve was the one, who saved Nancy in the first place ( also by putting robin in danger btw). Because Nancy was on the focuse, when Billy tried to kill her. Nancy was always Steves number 1 in his heart, but he tried to hide his feelings and tried to move on as good as possible, because Nancy couldn't love him back and chose Jonathan over him. It is very clear, if you analyse his character and read between the lines. He never risked so much for a woman, never was so protective towards a woman, never looked at a woman like that as he did all of that towards Nancy. Not to mention that Nancy was the only girl who was able to break his heart. Season 3 was about trying to focuse on your own life, because they were apart from each other. And now in season 4, when they had no other options other than fight together against vecna, it was very natural that during this circumstances, Steve and Nancy had close moments again, while they spent much more time together.
@@SnowDreamFlake I still have to disagree with this. In S3, with Billy's car, Steve wasn't just saving Nancy. If Billy had succeeded and hit the car-he would have killed Nancy, sure, but also took out Lucas, Max, Mike and Jonathan (and I think El). So, it wasn't just about saving Nancy. Robin and Steve were talking about past relationships-so it was natural for him to mention Nancy-his first serious relationship. I do think he has lingering feelings for Nancy-largely because they never fully resolved their issues. They break up and then Nancy gets with Jonathan and that is that. However, I don't think he truly loves her and she doesn't love him. Steve doesn't really know who Nancy is-just what he wants her to be. If he did, he wouldn't be imagining having a brood of six children with her, knowing she not about that life. The love triangle coming back in S4 was forced-and didn't need to happen. They should have, if they were smart, had Steve and Nancy talk out their issues (as they did) but then become friends-and leave it at that. Let Steve find someone better for him.

He also saved the others by crashing billys car, but he did that for Nancy in the first place, because she was on the focuse in this scene on pupose. As a hint that she was the main reason for his sacrifise. The duffer brothers do nothing without any point. There was nothing wrong about telling her about his dream he always had deep down. Thanks to Eddie he was brave enough to talk about his true feelings. It was a soft and innocent dream and he doesn't force her to do anything or to give up something. He wanted her to know what he always felt, that's it. In fact, SHE is the most important part in his dream like he pointed out, not the six little nuggets. So he could also imagine a future with her only, as long as she is there. Steve would be the first person, who would support her no matter what. He would never want that she gives up her own dream. He would do anything for her, like we saw multiple times.
But we all have our own opinions and point of view on this series and that's ok.
@@harmfulsweetz Actually when Steve and Robin rescued Nancy and the others in Season 3 at the end, it was only Jonathan, Lucas and WILL in the car. Mike, Max And Eleven were still trapped in the Starcourt mall. I'm not specifically saying you but lately I've noticed a lot of people ignoring Will's existence which is a bit upsetting to me because not only is he my # 1 favorite but he is a main core lead character since season 1 and Will is the reason season 1 exists by going missing along with Eleven.
I hope not coz 1 it is the mos predictable shit to come out of this show and second what would that accomplish further traumatized dustin? He lost eddie .. he will lose steve too? .. and be somehow okay after a month of losing steve back to back with eddie? Poor storytelling and wrapping up a characters arc
I hope Steve would survive and he would be happy with Nancy he really needs to get happy ending ❤ same for Hopper he needs happy ending too i would probably think either Steve,Nancy or Jonathan would die i hope Jonathan bcs in my opinion he's no longer important since season 3 and i really hope steve wouldn't die he almost died in every season please leave him alone please if someone from those 3 would die please be either Jonathan or possibly Nancy i love Nancy and Steve and i wish them happy ending with each other.
