- Hi Guys!
Tune in to hear about our experience in learning and teaching Classical Academic Press' Writing & Rhetoric Program! There are 12 books total in the program to span over 6 years.
So far, we have completed the first 4 books, which is one-third of the way through the program.
Book 1: Fable
Book 2: Narrative I
Book 3: Narrative II
Book 4: Chreia & Proverb {my favorite}
BLOOPER: I think I mentioned that we were a 4th way through, but I meant a 3rd! My apologies!

FYI: I plan to shoot a video later this summer to read a full narrative writing piece from my son after completing the Narrative Writing Books (Books 1-4).
Hopefully, you can hear the progression (and things that still need to perfected) from book-to-book. We're very pleased with his progress and we're moving on to the next set of books with Writing & Rhetoric!

LOVE your review! Thank you so much. You explained W&R very well. This was extremely helpful. I am going to check out more of your videos.
Thank you so much!
We're going to be starting this soon with my 10 year old. Thank you!
This review was very helpful.
mommylove0629 I’m so happy to hear it!
Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome! :-) ~Blessings, Alizah
Hi! I realize this is an older video but am wondering if you found the teacher’s guide/edition necessary? I think I first watched your review a couple of years ago. Now that my son is old enough, I’ve stumbled upon it again. I am so glad that I did. Thanks for sharing!🙂
Another to add to the list ;-) Thanks
Do you use the grammar that goes along with Classical Academic Press or do something like Fix it grammar?
I'm wondering about this too..and would i need to add a reading curriculum
Hi, a great review. How much help does the parent give the child when rewriting the fable, for example in lesson 1 fable? Is the child meant to do it completely on their own or can the parent offer guidance, ideas, help them explore other better words? Thank you xx
It is best if the parent is there for the instructional portion of the lesson. Then, the student can complete the exercises on their own (if you like). But for the Fables, I would sit hip-to-hip with my child.
@@professorjoyice5595 Hello and thank you for your video. Do you as a parent, continue to instruct throughout the Narrative books as well? And now that your son is into books 5 and 6, will you as a parent be needed to instruct your child, or can he now work through these books independently?
Thank you for such a thorough review. I wasn't sure if I was going with this or IEW for writing when I started the video, but am completely sold on this program now. It's exactly what I was looking to find.
