I was talking to someone who started talking negative about themselves and about not changing and never being able to change. They also brought up something I had told them about my past and used it against me. I knew this was not the language of love and the devil was trying to get me to stay in that conversation and defend myself and argue back. I recognized what was happening because of the tremendous weight that I felt trying to be placed on me. It was the same weight I felt as a child…shame, blame, etc. This person was not taking responsibility for what had happened and was now trying to place it on me. By the grace of the Holy Spirit I recognized what was going on and just stopped talking and I prayed for that person. The weight lifted and I was able to walk away without carrying “their baggage”. What happened then was that person started to complain about back pain. I believe that person was also carrying weight they were not meant to carry, but they didn't want to listen. So I think sometimes the loving thing is to just keep my mouth shut and walk away. This daily dose is confirmation of what happened and I needed to hear about this! Good for you! I'm proud of you! Many times people are interested in the monologue not a dialogue for wellness and health! Great job discerning and recognizing what was going on and the emotional weight that comes whenever it is a fear-based conversation versus love

Every day after my rosary I pray lord increase my Holy discernment my Holy awareness my Holy wisdom my Holy clarity bind all forces of confusion. Many times the Lord asks me remain quiet and just speak through my actions. I have also like you said learned to wait on a response and tell people. I can see this is important to you let me respectfully give this time to pray on. Don’t cast your pearls before swine. Sometime no response is a response. Thanks Vicky very confirming message. Also I have several times brought this to the confessional apologizing for when I remained silent when I should have spoken and spoken when I should have remained silent. Confession has given the graces I needed for that increased clarity and discernment. Jesus I trust in you.

I struggle with processing negative verbal remarks.
I may come up with an appropriate response 24 hours after the fact. How about ???? ... " That saddens me you feel that way." ?
You know, this is why the Lord told me to move at the pace of peace.... He said when I commit to doing this (moving at the pace of Peace) I'm able to hear the response HE wants me give/or not give.... My focus is, being light, demonstrating love as a witness to the PEACE of HE who DWELLS within me...Amen?!
