It was kind of obvious though. The foreground objects (such as the writing) were in focus while the magician and background objects were very blurry.

That’s a bit silly you didn’t notice. You can clearly see that the camera is focused on the easel and table much sharply than him. He has a kind of grainy, smudged look to him.

So I only have to buy 52 decks of cards to have 52 fours to impress my friends
Well no you don't, you need 49 packs of cards and 49 4s. Come on man, pay attention ;)
yes I did he said "52 decks and I removed the 4 of clubs from each of them". So you come on man, pay attention ;)
no you need 49. the others are the "dummy cards" like queen etc
You need 49.... since there others are dummy cards that can be taken from the 49 decks you bought....
Or... you can just learn the ambitious card routine and move the selected card to the top by manipulation. :p
so that's why he was blurry the whole time

I prefer, "Pledge, Turn, Prestige" but yea, this is pretty cool too.
The Id good god that movie's awesome!
The pledge, the turn and the prestige are the acts to performing a magic trick. What this video presents is different ways the illusion is constructed. Different subjects.
Batman and Batman fighting Wolverine and David Bowie using magic. It's probably the greatest movie of all time but who am I to say.
Doc Pandaman directed by Christopher Nolan. yeah that's more OP than the Golden State Warriors

"Pick a card, any card."
"Show me the deck first."
"Hold on, I'll be right back."
And that is how you make this magician disappear.
😂😂
😂 😂 😂
You made my day. Thanks!
i bet they even have a backup deck or something
If you intend to allow your audience to hold the deck, typically you'd just force the card they choose instead of having a loaded deck. You throw it back in to the middle after they pick, do a pinky break, since they cant see it, utilize that to perform the shuffle, boom the card they picked is on top and the trick works.
He taught this trick to us like this, because it's MUCH easier to use a loaded deck than trying to teach sleight of hand tricks.

it was pretty obvious if you know what "focus" is.
I actually did notice there was something wrong with the board
Daniel Rieger nah don’t lie
Yeah I thought the writing looked like it had been written with a much smaller pen and then scaled up, I was pretty puzzled until the end. I am sure smarter people worked it out ha ha.
Zanzubaa1 I didn't bother working it out. I noticed three things though - he was always out of focus, the text looked unnatural on the board, and at 1:22 you can see the pack of cards bouncing up and down. Also the table edge was waay too black to be real. Tbh they were pretty shoddy illusory effects.

He broke the magician's code
The only break to the code would be to buy someone else's trick (yes magicians sell their tricks/effects) to learn how it is done and then reveal it to everyone. Tricks are revealed all the time. The best magicians can trip people up who know how the trick is done as they are masters of misdirection, sleight of hand, etc.
matthew hurley meh, he showed basic stuff, I liked the video and I'm a magician myself. I can still trick anyone who sees this vid so I don't think he comitted a crine

I'm a magician myself and I have formed my channel back in 2008 to host various magic illusions.
Unfortunatelly my best friend died back then so I only uploaded 1 video and forgot about growing my channel.
I'm happy to see people eager to both learn and pass the knowledge of illusion.
Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled.

More magicians should do this. I think it would lead to more people attempting magic if they believe it can actually be done by them
And not everyone should just become a magician
That's like saying more comedians should tell people jokes they haven't used so they can go tell the jokes to impress their friends. That would lead to an over saturation of bad comedians and bad jokes, just like if everyone was trying to be a magician there'd to be too many bad tricks.

About the second thing the card trick I don't have any friends what do I do
Flaiming Samurai get your teddy bear. If not, get your family, if not get your mirror, if not, imagine, if not, get a doctor.
Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"."
Amazing movie, the Prestige.
Amazing Movie 😍😍
Theatricality and deception... powerful agents to the uninitiated.
Winston Mcgee It's a quote from a famous movie, pal. No need to be an asshole about it

I thought there was major secrecy around magician's secrets.
I'm now kind of a little worried for his safety. 😄
Cause there hasn't been magic tricks revealed on youtube for some time now...
marpemit ever heard of a joke?
TheMovieMyLife magicians are allowed to reveal their secrets. They're not part of some cult that kill people when they reveal their secrets.
there are like million of magician books, i know what u mean, there are copyright laws if a magician comes up with a original idea and concept, other magicians arent allowed to share it otherwise court xd

the ending was awesome
That ending blew my mind.
You used 52 of the same card as opposed to simply manipulating the chosen card to the top of the deck? Come on man...
Andy Jones I said the exact same thing I think this is bs I don't want to spend money buying a lot of decks just to take the 4 of clubs
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm no magician, nor do I claim to be good at card tricks, but any fool can recognise the flaw in this "trick". Buying 52 decks when a simple manipulation move would prove just as, if not MORE effective is simply idiotic.
Winston Mcgee what if the spectator wants the deck to shuffle it or something after the trick?
Winston Mcgee The point is even a novice such as myself can easily learn a couple of extremely basic manipulation moves that allow the performer to move ANY chosen card to the top or bottom of the deck, and as Elionexis stated should the viewer want to study the cards beforehand your 'one way force deck' would be completely useless. I'm sure an experienced magician should be able to come up with something a little more elaborate don't you think?
Andy Jones Yeah I saw that I was like wtf. I'm an amateur at best and I can get a picked card to the top.
bro this is why we all have trust issues... last part got me trippin
WOW he made magic feel so intense
I knew something similar would happen lol. The way that the camera kept focused on the table gave it away that it was a lot closer.
1:30 when he throws the pack of cards why does it start to vibrate on the table?
did you watch the end...?
that was the most diverse like I give in CZcams .. woow last of the video is amazing😅

The ending... what a badass
You just broke the code
Minh Gusta true
Minh Gusta plot twist there was never a code
Penn and Teller show more than this, and it's STILL flawless. The code has to do with ruining other magicians. Ruining your own performance is one thing, but revealing the secrets of especially expensive tricks can RUIN the lives of other magicians. The code is to avoid giving up THOSE secrets, because the experience of the casual viewer is ruined when they know what to look for and how to avoid being tricked.
In terms of a stacked deck and broken spoon - those are party tricks that no one is making bread and butter off of. It's really no different than picking up a child's "how to do magic" book. It's not new, and it's not a direct invention of another person that they're making money off of teaching other magicians how to do it.
I've seen the "pick a card" trick done at least ten different ways, and this is the most expensive and in my mind, most likely to fail in terms of the stack being noticed. There's much more subtle ways of doing it, including ones that result in actually being able to draw the card from the ABSOLUTE MIDDLE of a COMPLETELY MIXED deck.
