10 Teams Who Made the WRONG Trade and Regretted It

- We see the trades that happen in thr league and how they play out on the court. Then you hear about the trades that almost happened instead but didn't. And a lot of times it only leaves you to believe that one of those trades would've been so much better instead. It also makes it even worse to hear that the team that would've got the better deal was the one to pull out!

The Lakers could only get Demar through a sign and trade plus Demar says he would have taken a discount but he's making 26 million this season, how big of a discount was he really willing to take? Because the Lakers only could have offered the MLE or a vet minimum deal which he obviously wasn't going to accept.
Nigga why would he accept dat
He literally said he would’ve taken the Mid level exception lol
The warriors really almost traded steph and klay multiple times. Thank god that didn't happen.
They tried trading Steph on draft day 2009 to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire
@@mongoslade277 Funnily enough if I remember correctly, Steve Kerr was the GM of the Suns around that time and was trying to get Steph to Phoenix
@@matthewroberts198 Never realized that!! You're absolutely right ✅
Kobe and K.G. 👀👀
Man, that woulda been a magnificent duo
I believe better than kobe and Shaq!!
Boston Celtics for Allen Iverson but had already traded the pick
Can’t even imagine Iverson in Celtics green
As a celtics & Iverson fan this one hurts the most
@@gkumor70 me either but damn👀 Iverson, Garnett, Pierce & Ray Allen maybe rondo too
Just wanna make a quick note.
It wasn’t KCP and Kuzma, it was Kuzma and montrezz
2. They didn’t get derozen because it HAD to be a sign and trade and the spurs weren’t going to do that.
GSW could have acquired Kevin Garnett.
Problem 1 was that the owner Chris Cohen rejected the trade. Problem 2 was that GSW would have been too good for the 2009 Draft. Another team would have drafted Stephen Curry .
Teams that rejected/lost a trade but ended up winning afterwards is also a good idea
@@GarkKahn I hope this becomes a video 📹 😃
Timberwolves had 3 chances so maybe they got him in that case
@@GarkKahn You should make that a stand alone comment instead of a reply so that your idea gets seen by more people. (real shit).
They would still have had good options because the drafting at the top was so idiotic that players like DeRozen and Holiday were still available in the teens
7:07 This is why I can hardly hate the decision of great, deserving players requesting trades because teams indeed treat players as mere pieces. I'm pretty sure Warriors are more than enamored with Curry and Thompson now but lmao they were really willing to trade the two back then huh. Fk hindsight, the point of them being treated as mere compensation pieces still stands.
I mean it is a business. No different than any other boss/employee relationship. Welcome to the real world
@@ClaraInstalledAimbot exactly it’s business so why is it a problem when a player leaves in fa or demands a trade there called a snake but if they get traded it’s just a business decision. These men move there family to the city of that team start a life there the all of a sudden get a phone call saying they have to move across the country. Just saying it goes both ways.
@@joshuacervone3639 You're looking at these decisions with logic.....and sport fans don't usually have much of that. It's a valid point though.
So it's only great, deserving players or are you in favor of, or all players just demanding trades willy-nilly, thereby creating chaos and causing devastating social deconstruction, destruction and devastation.. 🙄 😏 😑?
another note about the derozan trade, the bulls gm flew to la to talk to derozan and convinced him to join as well
The 2010-11 Bulls could have had LeBron/Wade/Bosh in Chicago w/ MVP Rose & Noah but they never traded away Luol Deng(12mil) & Signed Carlos Boozer/Ronnie Brewer(23mil). They would have had 47Mil in cap space, LBJ/Wade/Bosh signed for a combined 45mil in Miami that 2010 off-season.
That was never going to happen they were just following a script. Wade was never going to give The Bulls the discount he gave Miami. Plus they had his Bird Rights which makes a major difference. In addition Florida's no state tax vs Illinois adds a few zeroes.
Bear in mind Stoudemire and Boozer had Miami as first option and they showed no interest because this deal was coming.
@@Wilcoranking you don’t know what your talkin bout foo, following a script? Bulls had a much better supporting cast for the big 3 & a better coach. The PLAN was to team up anywhere & it was supposed to be Melo not Bosh.
@@Wilcoranking I'm with you Norman. Wade wanted them to play in Miami. Period.
The intensity of Kobe and Garrett on the floor and in the locker room, OMG.
As a warriors fan I’m glad we didn’t trade curry for bogut or curry and Thompson for cp3
No shit
Klay Thompson for Kevin Love almost happened
@@ericf91 I don't remember the 2011 draft but that 2009 draft was silly. The T-Wolves took 2 point guards before Curry and 2 point guards after him. Jonny Flynn??
*Bandwagon fan
Bogut and Curry were teammates from 2012-16 (4 years). That's good Monta went to the bucks for Bogut.
If Toronto got Steve Nash , and Dirk as a hometown Canadian Steve's popularity would have exploded selling seats.
There's also the Tim Duncan to Orlando signing which fell through because the Magic wouldn't allow his wife to fly with the team, McGrady /Hill /Duncan would've been the original big 3
As a New Orleans sports fan, this is so painful.
Should’ve included the pacers trading kawhi for George hill
That was a steal for the Spurs, made a lucky move at that time.
@@rafaelvilla4002 sadly as a pacers fan I have to agree
The 2002 toronto-dallas trade made me wonder what was going on inside the minds of BOTH sides
The amount of times he said 2012 instead of 2002 made me stop watching
Okay. I am noticing either mistakes or outright lies extremely early in this video. The bucks wanted steph curry, but Jerry west refused to move him and jettisoned Montara Ellis
Totally agree Jerry West was not going to trade Curry unless he got a treasure trove of picks and players. Because of Jerry West the Warriors have got Thompson,Green, and, Curry.
Should be 2002 for Nash, Dirk for Carter
Regardless. As a raptors fan I wanna cry now😭😭😭😭
Ok cool I wasn’t the only one like not sure that’s correct
Be wrote that in the video.
To think it failed just because toronto rejected it
I can't believe dallas was going to trade his 2 most important pieces in the near future
Bruhh… imagine Giannis and Curry on the same team 😰😰😰😰💀💀💀🙂🙂🙂😤😤😤
Chill with the Emoji’s damn
@@savagecabbage7208 sorry, i apologize 😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😤😤😤😤😤😰😰😰😰😫😫😫🤓🤓🤓🙂🙂😈😈😈😈💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏🤝🤝🤝👑👑💪💪💪💪😀😀😀😀🥺🥺🥺😜😜😜
In 1983. Portland had a deal trading their no 2 pick for Clyde Drexler and the 2nd round pick for Ralph Sampson. Rockets could have had Hakeem, Jordan and Drexler
this list was really good, still stuck on them KG/Kobe and Giannis/Curry duos 🤦♂ Christ
aint no telling what Curry/Klay woulda been under a different coach/system, i honestly dont believe it woulda led to a dynasty, not even together in NO
There's absolutely no way that the bucks offered that and the Cavs took the Celtics deal instead.
4:48 the rare Ben Simmons making a three.
I'm a lifelong Mavs fan in Dallas. That Dirk/Carter deal is total bullshit. There's ZERO chance Don Nelson would've dealt Dirk. I remember the actual discussion for Carter in 2004 being centered on future all star Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels and picks.
Clippers could be on here multiple times with the Paul George for SGA trade too
Oh man to see Curry and Giannis play together
Imagine how this year's DeRozan would have been playing with LBJ.... With Buddy hield on the perimeter nonetheless. With James orchestrating things the way he does..... Come on man.. that's at least 10 more wins by default
Austin Sweatt "thr" is not a word.
7:50 2012 Nash was a first time all star. Think you made a mistake bro
Yeah he corrected it as he said it in the editing lol
As a sixers fan I always think of how terrible of a decision it was
Jimmy and JoJo and especially LeBron and Amare never happening is just so sad for me...
Jimmy and Jojo did happen, Harden and Jimmy didn’t however. Those two plus jojo would’ve been unstoppable and a championship caliber team.
2019 sixers lost to Toronto in the eastern conference semis not the ecf
As a raptors fan, the Vince carter one makes me mad
Same I feel you raptors would've won like 5 rings
The trade for Alonzo Mourning was awful. Not even talking about what they turned down but he never played a game for the Raptors. He made them buy him out
I think the deal was Kuz and Montrezl for Buddy.
Yeah
4:47 cant believe they put ben hitting a 3 in his highlights.
Watching and hearing this channels content is so stressful! Damn!!
This is what I found. .
former Raptors GM Glen Grunwald denied a Mavericks trade offer that would have sent Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki to the Toronto Raptors for Vince Carter and Antonio Davis.
I know you were lying bro!
The Cavs-Bucks trade is worse considering the Bucks supposedly offered Giannis.
Kyle Lowry was going to be sent to the Knicks for Metta World Peace, Iman Shumpert and a future first-round pick but James Dolan did not trust Masai Ujiri after a couple of shortchanged trades with him.
Haven't finished the whole video yet but I wish this was a video about the exact opposite. Trading DD for Kawaii to win our much deserved chip. Still to this day being doubted by Americans who simply didn't pay attention at the second place eastern conference team in the raps that dominated in the late 2010s with 2019 finally getting what they deserved;) 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦
I was like wait 2012...Vince Carter ain't no way
Now looking back at the warriors offer for cp3 now he’s on their team😂
The thing with something like this is that it's not guaranteed a player would end up they way they did now on a different team or with a different route. I mean which coach in their right minds at the time would allow curry shot with freedom like that. It's because they ended up the way they are we can witness them like this. Not saying the player wouldn't have had the same career but it's not guaranteed
As a Hornets/Pelicans fan I’m hurt 😢
Thank God KG didn't go to LA
The Milwaukee Bucks did not want Stephen Curry due to his history with past injures and instead took the more “healthier” Ellis. Side Note: Imagine if Curry became a role player and never revolutionized basketball?
That would’ve been amazing, Curry ruined the game
@@VLE-Grimace in my opinion Curry revolutionized the game we see today. It isn't his fault the rest of the league bought into the 3 point. However the 2000's were more pushing of the 2 pointer and you do see it often if they take away the option to shoot the three.
@@VLE-Grimace the game evolved, it’s become more dynamic and requires so much more athleticism to actually play now. It’s not just pass to big man in the post and iso iso iso iso lol.
That "no sneyk KD" rofl
No way you said 2012 3 times 😭😭
LeGM back at it again
Kevin Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics for an entire team plus a sixth man and another dude coming off the bench. Seven players if you include the two draft picks. If you don't include the draft picks he was still traded for five players which is an entire team. Not a very good team but a team nonetheless.
Rejecting Curry is the worst decision ever I think for NBA teams history .... Looking back at this I'm so glad that warriors have to trust and keep Curry, this is the best move ever for GSW team and fans....
0:06 this is 2018 season right? Why the hell it looks like from 08
I don't think Kobe and Garnett would've worked out because of their personalities
Cavs would’ve been crazy w middleton
Derozan was all the lakers needed now they sittin here with westbrick, Anthony glass Davis and LeOldHead James
I hate it when people spread misinformation about the Chris Paul Lakers trade
As a raps fan that could have been trade hurts
Giannis and Curry that would have been really nice
Lakers had chemistry yes but also a lot of missed games..
Bruh the warriors let a trio of Giannis klay and Steph not happen by letting Giannis go away like bruh imagine the league with three of Giannis curry klay and KD
pls fix the 30 fps thing. it makes it dificult to watch
The CP3 and Kobe mesh up didn't happen bcuz Paul actually is one of the people who is a part of the league union n he always give the higher up difficult time.. Think about the calls that would have gave Pheonix the win.. Paul also use to speak up about what goes on in the world, which led to James to start speaking up.. That became another thing that lead to them disliking him bcuz he speak his mind.. To me that is the real REASON HE DIDN'T GET TO PLAY WITH KOBE..
As much as I indeed agree with the mistakes made by the lakers, Anthony Davis and Lebron James were out an awful lot this season, so in my eyes you can’t really blame Russel Westbrook fully.
Yeah butnitnwas a bad trade either way because they needed shooting and that's one of the things that westbrick is not good at
LETS GO RAPS!! DONT LET THESE AMERICANS SECOND DOUBT YOU
Vlade for Kobe 😂😂😂 or Tractor Traylor for Dirk.
Steph teaming with Giannis would murder the league
It’s not entirety Russ’s fault
Bogut was actually offered for curry by the bucks
Fire
Semis everybody keep forgetting sixers did not make the conference finals lol
People forget how dominant Bynam and Odam were for a brief minute...
That's so Kobe tho... Putting himself above the team. It's why Kobe would never come close to a top 10 player in my book.
The Cavs trade to Milwaukee wouldn’t make sense because Cavs play in the same division and wouldn’t wanna face Kyrie and Gianis
And Boston is the Eastern Conference...the Milwaukee trade made so much sense...
Calling KD a snake for what???
The Dirk and Nash stuff was definitely not in 2012 Dirk either had his ring or was near getting it by then I was born in 97 and haven't looked it up but almost positive you have to be talking about '02 do better buddy you have quite a bit of followers make sure you're giving them the right information you gonna have some casuals looking like some donkeys out here.
its lebrons fault about russ being a laker love how no one holds lebron accountable for his gm moves
I think people need to let go of the MVP BS. How many those mvp players won rings? Just like Nikola Jokić how many rings did he win? NONE and he won the mvp twice in a row. What about Steve Nash how many rings did he win? None. Let go of that MVP crap it really doesn't matter.
@Kevin Green LOL!
@Kevin Green LOL....bro...I am Steph Curry all the way...
Ain't fin'na care if anybody hates on this comment so bitch @ me if y'all wanna. Hearing KG and Kobe could've been a duo and that the former opted to bail for one reason or another which I could care less about pisses me off. 'Cause if them 2 would've legit gotten a 3-peat and Kobe got 6 chips instead of 5 I'd be more willing to accept Kobe as the GOAT over Bron than MJ.
Would’ve been Kobe kg and gasol thanks 5 titles
How does this guy slander kd in every video
I still disagree that the Lakers' offer for CP3 was better than the Clippers' offer. The Lakers offered basically mediocrity. Those players in New Orleans might have allowed the team to win just enough games to be out of the running for the top 3 picks while not being a playoff contender either. Meanwhile, the trade they actually got from the Clippers gave them 23-year old Eric Gordon, who did have some injury concerns, but was still coming off a season where he averaged 22 ppg. It also gave them the opportunity to tank, ultimately landing Anthony Davis. The way they handled things after that obviously wasted the talent they had, but it was still a situation that offered better potential than what the Lakers were offering. For a team that is rebuilding, youth, potential and a full reset that may result in picking high in the draft is always better than mediocrity.
2012?
2002, not 2012
the reason butler said that was bc it was common knowledge that simmons wanted harris back embiid wanted butler and they wanted simmons happy so they kept harris over butler
Bucks could have had giannis and curry?....
Man he was so good there was 2 of them lol
@@JohnnyRamirez86 lol.... Didn't realize... He was so good, I typed him twice
@@zoluhwa3508 Oh haha I see. Simple mistake 😁

Lol bucks didn’t say no to Steph you literally don’t know what you are talking about. Bucks couldnt take the trade because warriors medical staff proved Steph untradable because of his injuries and they HAD to accept Ellis. Just stop dude
yooooooooooooooooo
James harden trade
First

I don't know why you said Ben Simmons 'became a terrible player' he hasn't played for the nets yet and even after Jimmy went to Miami he didn't magical become worse he just didn't get better
