This person has it backwards; you don't use life-altering, high-risk experimental medical procedures on children until it's proven the approach may be harmful; you prove the procedures are reasonably safe and helpful BEFORE you allow them to be done to children. Considering over 80% of kids will desist if nothing is done, there seems absolutely no reason to push kids towards a life of risky procedures and drugs.

I believe it should be blocked until the age that their brain reaches full development which is 22 for females and 25 for males I believe.
The community that will do everything to transition a child will also deny or rebuke and not support someone who wants to de-transition.
My boy is five and knows the difference between boys and girls. He would never even question his own sexuality because he’s just a child. All he wants to do is play with his toys, go to the park. Basically he just wants to be a kid .
The Cass report proves that if these children go through puberty that most of them will outgrow gender confusion. Most of the time it isn't gender dysphoria but trauma or other mental issues. I hate it when these men say that they wish they could have transitioned earlier just so they can pass easier.

I’m all for transitioning, but not for children. If they claim suicidal tendencies, they need counseling.
Puberty is difficult for everyone. Blocking puberty chemically is going to completely create new problems.
If, by the time they are 18/19/ or 21, they still desire to transition, at least they are considered adults.
Even 21 is still too young. In the UK, they just bumped the age up to 25 because that is closer to the age of 26 which is when the brain is fully developed. I've seen too many stories of people who transitioned in their early twenties and ended up regretting it. They also need to go back to having strict and clear rules around transitioning including mental health screening.
@@owenh.2265 that is even better. I watch a de-transitioner about a month ago who had given birth, and because she had a double mastectomy she was absolutely devastated about her prior decision as she could not breastfeed. Heartbreaking.

I'm a 72 year old man I can still remember when I went through puberty I grew up in a government reformatory for boys. The voice changer the nipples start to get lumps and ache and many other changes. Puberty like a baby teething is not meant to be easy.

We need better screening/diagnostic measures that doesn't rely on self reporting.
Let kids focus on how to read, write, and operate in society in a way that will line them up for success. Once they are 18, or what the legal age is where they are, then they can make those choices.

I was the biggest Tomboy took on the boys at school in fights I was tall and gangly climbed trees played all the games the boys did. But I grew up Became a Mother and love being female they should wait and let the kids work in out for themselves
Pediatricians should not be telling parents to let children experiment with gender by boys wearing dresses, or painting their nails.
This is no more appropriate than children experimenting with drugs, alcohol, driving a car at 10 y.o., or giving a child a loaded firearm because the child wants to experiment.
Comparing transgender videos and the comments today to even three years ago - the difference is remarkable! Very encouraging. People are catching on and speaking out. This nightmare will be ending soon. Not soon enough. But I'm sure the end is in sight.

I don't think so. That doctor went up there to argue that going to the specialists to get a better understanding of the child was a bad thing.
Kids aren't getting mastectomies or genital reassignment surgery, but he's trying to force the narrative that it is.
He also lied about why so many people stop the transition; It's because healthcare is expensive and they have to save up again or that they're happy once they reach a level of androgynous that they like

The brain's frontal lobe, especially the prefrontal cortex, isn't fully mature until around age 25. The development of the pre-frontal cortex of the frontal lobe allows us to process the pros and cons of a decision before it is made.

The MILESTONE
The transwoman is not addressing these key points: Why the rise in young women identifying in early adolescence as trans? (they are a very different cohort from her and should not be confused with them); her desire to be more feminine as an adult transwoman is a projection of her own needs onto a social media saturated group of young people and as such, is irrelevant to their ‘care’. The transwoman has not addressed that the current cohort have a lot of mental health conditions, and nor that it is a very extreme case where someone should be putting their desire to look a certain way ahead of the risks and complications of being a life long medical patient.
Arguably, puberty is the most important physical change in a persons life and skipping that has profound, life long consequences.
The transwoman does not address the fact that 85+% of adolescents outgrow their gender confusion.
Why on this particular subject, “trust the science” goes out the window for Leftists and Dems?

I have to say, this was an excellent segment. Both sides were authentic and respectful of each other. My best friend transitioned as an adult and seems very happy, so I have every reason to think society should be as tolerant and accepting as it can be. I also prefer to live in a society where things are not so rigid that everything always looks and feels stagnant and uniform, where people who are different or extremely creative or artistic or flamboyant don't have or can't find a place. But I don't want non-empirical, ideological, non-falsifiable claims being taught to my children to their possible detriment, either.

Something that gets lost is why should insurance have to pay for such nonsense? I'm sure plenty of people would like to have cosmetic surgery. It's not medical care to help people achieve a certain image no matter how many definitions of words they change.

How many children who are still in school where they are constantly affirmed and treated as special and wonderful BECAUSE they are going through gender transition - promoting the “euphoria” - take longer to have regrets compared to the length of time that people OUT of school? If they have mental health issues and people surrounding them are constantly helping/affirming them BECAUSE they are transitioning, it’s going to skew the data.
I would like to know if Chandi has done any medical tranzition, and if not, why promote it for children? Because as far as I can tell, Chandi looks like he's had nothing done, except a wig and lashes.

I don't think it's that. These people are lying. Why would they admit "Yeah, I've seen most of these transitioners, and they all regret it." They're never going to admit the number is high. It ruins their narrative.

That's to stop their bodies trying to go through puberty before it's ready. Actually a very serious condition and probably where the transitioner crowd got the concept of "puberty blocking" from.
Being trans can be traumatic, and for some of us it feels like we were raised as the wrong gender. That feeling is sometimes a part of the trauma, and a lot of trans rights activists just don't want others to go through the same traumas that they went through. However, this is a projection. Kids explore a lot, and someone who is truly meant to transition is rare. We need to deal with this by processing our traumas, not assuming that we need to protect others from going through them when our intended protections end up being their traumas.
If you have your kids in government schools get them out. If you allow your kid to have a tablet or smartphone shame on you

The problem is that there have always been people who struggle with gender dysphoria. Up until recently those who pursued transition, like Chandi, probably could safely transition younger. The problem now is that kids are being pushed down this path of transition because it's become a social contagion. Nobody is questioning why.
