I still remember Nelson's interview in the film Companion South, where he expressed that heroes don't accept the exact vision of the director rather they make corrections to have their own mass appeal. I think this might have happened to Beast, Vijay or Sun Pictures might have tampered with Nelson's screenplay a lot for hero appeal, and it got backfired. I can clearly see that none of it has happened in Jailer showcase and it looks like Rajini Sir has completely bound to Nelson' vision

I've heard that Rajini sent Nelson to K.S.Ravikumar a few times to tinker the script. There would have release date pressure + Vijay Stardom pressure + Sun Pictures pressure for Beast but it's also Nelson's fault to write a weak script. In the same interview, he also mentioned that he can't work on a script more than 3 months without getting bored. His style is good but i'm not confident about his writing.
@@atwunz That's what I have mentioned that the pressure given by Vijay & Sun Pictures for hero mass show has backfired. So sun pictures would have said Nelson this time to go with his formula

Finally, someone is talking about it. I have the same POV on the Jailer showcase. In Better Call Saul, they have Clearly showed the backstory of Mike Ehrmantraut, who was a retired police officer and had a son who was killed by some fellow police officers, and he had a granddaughter. Here is the same retired jailer with a son and a grandson. Both the characters look very similar, and Nelson's Breaking Bad-influenced movie will never disappoint.

Breaking Bad is a 💎. People who watched it will hate to watch its reference scenes. Need subtle direction to implement that in kollywood.
Like this video mentions, there are Breaking Bad references in Nelson's films. I have only seen Doctor and I found out after my second viewing that the twin characters (played by Raghu & Rajeev) were reference to the Salamanca twins from Breaking Bad,down to the axe they use. Also there is a scene where SK's character pretends to be a human trafficker who uses a bakery as a front for his business. As someone who has seen Breaking Bad and appreciates it for being Perfection, I didn't catch the Gus Fring and his Los Pollos Hermanos reference in that. So it is possible to reference Breaking Bad subtly in movies.

Great video. Yes looking fwd to Nelson's comeback. Just wanted to say, I think pa ranjith did do a good job in showing us an understated rajni in his 2 movies. Was a refreshing change at that time.
