    A scuba diving suit is apparently very important for the GUE Fundy class. But what is the best scuba diving suit for GUE Fundy? Is it a wetsuit? Is it a drysuit? And which features of the suit are important? In this video I tried to cover the most common questions when it comes to the best scuba diving suit for the GUE fundamentals class. This is a whole series about how to be best prepared for the GUE Fundamentals Class - so make sure to subscribe and don't miss upcoming videos that will help you to show up prepared for the class!

      I have the same D7X as you, but I am in Australia. I researched a lot before buying and really wanted that suit, but could not find a store with one to try-on. Had to order direct from Waterproof via their sizing chart only, and import it. It took >3mths to arrive and was such a huge gamble but it fits perfect and I love it - I got very very lucky I think ;-)
      The only fault I could say is that the boots fit my foot correctly, but are a bit large/bulky externally wrt removing RK3's or Jet Fins, like before climbing back into a boat the fins are very hard to take OFF.
      PS: I recently fitted a Light Monkey P-valve to mine which is good quality construction, and compact.

    Wish I knew what I was looking for when I bought my (first) drysuite. I own a bare aquatrek. Was the cheapest trilaminate suite. But it's not very rugit and very thin. That makes it prone to leaks very easy and had a bunch last year. Most likely spend the price difference for a bit better suite in repairs. It's very flexible though. Makes v-drills a bit more easy.

    In your description of neoprene dry suits you correctly point out that they compress at depth; however you make no mention of the availability of compressed neoprene dry suits that largely avoid this problem. Is there a problem with using compressed neoprene for tech diving?

    • @DoktorBEN

      No it’s not. However, there are only very few manufacturers making real crushed neoprene suits like the DUI CF200, more compressed neoprene.

    • @DoktorBEN

    Hypothetically, if there was a GUE expedition on a live aboard ship, and only doing single tank dives, would most GUE divers choose to dive dry or wet if water temperatures were 27C? Thank you !

    • @DoktorBEN
      @DoktorBEN  Před 2 lety

      Depends on the people essentially. Given that many GUE divers do stinky not own wet suits, maybe they’d dive dry suits. Still I could imagine being in a wet suite in these conditions.
