@@ninehundreddollarluxuryyac5958 Crop yields worldwide are at all-time highs with CO2 playing a very significant role. As CO2 levels rise, the stomata (pores on the underside of leaves) need to open less in order to admit the required amount of CO2 for photosynthesis. This has the added benefit of reducing water loss from the plant. The world is greening and many former desert areas are now thriving!

It'd be great if an actual scientist with a shred of integrity and discipline stood up and said "Our theory is wrong, so we're going to go back to the drawing board and figure out a better one" except there don't seem to be too many of those in the climate alarmist camp.

A couple of years ago shipping started going through instead of going around the Arctic because the ice is losing it's thickness.
We lose Arctic sea ice at a rate of almost 13% per decade, and over the past 30 years, the oldest and thickest ice in the Arctic has declined by 95%. If emissions continue to rise unchecked, the Arctic could be ice-free in the summer by 2040.

Simple! More CO2 would make our plants grow better (greenhouse owners already add CO2 to the air in their greenhouses). The plants would also be less thirsty, so we could grow more plants with the same amount of water. There is no danger of a catastrophic runaway feedback loop or the planet would have experienced it sometime in the last 4 billion years. The fact that we haven't is strong evidence that such a feedback loop does not exist.

Cubs0110 please, stop saying insane stupid things that are not based in reality. Global Warming is not causing Cooling. More Extreme Weather is in a 50,000 year Global Cooling Cycle, not Warming. Warming causes stability, but Cooling causes violent weather.
When a cold front moves into a warm area, you get violent storms. If the planet was warming, the warm areas would move north. This would make mild storms in the south.
Look at the current storm weather patterns. Those are the exact patterns it takes to build the 1 plus mile thick ice sheet over Canada and North East USA. Like it was some 40,000 years ago. That ice sheet would crush ever building in New York City. That takes a hell of a lot of storms to move that much precipitation to form such a major ice sheet. The Ocean was some 400 foot below what it is now.
      Global Cooling = Violent Storms
      Global Warming = Milder Storms
Look at the 450,000 Year Earth Temperature Graph and you will see the 100,000 year cycles. About 50,000 years of warming (the earth just ended in 1998-1999 and the next 50,000 years of cooling. Natural Cycles, not Man Made. The Earth is still in that Ice Age, because all the Ice has not melted. Some Inter Glacial Periods do not loose all the planetary ice. This one that just ended some 20 year ago, was not as warm as the last two.
What happens in an Ice Age? Well it gets warmer at the North Pole, because the Jet Stream Moves South East. This is because the Earth's Core slows down, because the Sun Spot Activity lightens up (Grand Solar Minimum). The core slowing means more violent volcanic activity and earth quakes. The Earth's Electromagnetic Field gets weaker and Galactic Rays get in more. This increases Clouds and the colder weather increases storm activity. All of these Natural Cycles are linked to Global Cooling and Ice Ages, not Global Warming and Inter-glacial Periods.
Please stop drinking the Fake Science Cool-aide, it's bad for you and everyone else.

Well said.

Dear George. I'm not exactly sure what you are ranting about here. If you want to talk about intelligence and education, a good place to start would be to engage in civil discourse. Starting off with insults is not very indicative of being educated or having any measure of culture. Sorry. My comment, for what it was, is simply trying to draw the contrast between a multi-national agreement that is completely voluntary and has no means of compliance enforcement whatsoever, which makes it in the end laughable. I was involved with the transportation industry in the 1990's and 2000's including being part of U.S. and international technical committees working to develop manufacturing and performance standards for hydrogen solutions. It will still take a lot of further technology and infrastructure to become economically feasible for wide-spread deployment - but I hope it will eventually happen. Hydrogen fuel cells could power cars, houses, a number of things. And, yes we could see nice reductions in carbon monoxide. Alternative energy sources are in the end worth pursuing - to further reduce dependency on fossil fuels and the associated effects of the various forms of pollution generated.

Gore guzzles more electricity in one year than the average American family uses in 21 years. Gore paid an estimated $60,000 to install 33 solar panels. Those solar panels produce an average of 1,092 kWh per month, only 5.7% of Gore’s typical monthly energy consumption. Climate change IS real, the climate has always changed since earth came into existence(talk about covering your arse) BUT is global warming real? I think you should add significant to that question and then its debatable. Since i was born(1949) winters are not so severe (in the UK that is) but summers are not so hot or long, so in 68 years(in the UK) i would say yes a little warming in the winter months but not in the summer, so i would class that as NOT significant. I predict little significant change in the next 68 yrs using the last 68 as a gauge. I could be wrong after all i'm just an average you tube viewer and all i have behind me is yrs of experience but no PHD or other such qualifications. I do know (according to ice cores) that CO2 was 10 times more than it is now, and in the middle of an ice age not an inter-glacial period like we are experiencing now. I also know that more CO2 equals bigger yields from crops and the reduction in desertification also those high CO2 levels in the past DIDN'T cause runaway greenhouse effects, infact CO2 rises follow temperature rises (by sometimes 1000's of years). So if Temp rise comes first how can CO2 be the cause. If you investigate sea level rise you will find that the rise is almost identical in the last 100 yrs to the previous 100 yrs. If the climate is changing(significantly) i think they need to look beyond the CO2 hypothesis and maybe sulfur or even methane would be a better candidate or dare i say it(shock horror) the sun or even the earths core itself, not fashionable i know(but what care i for fashion) but all the heat that this planet gets is either from the sun or to a much lesser extent the earths core so as neither of them are a constant maybe they have some small part to play. None of this effects me really although i obviously care for the sake of future generations, but seriously do you really think tax's are the answer, that is a politicians way of dealing with anything/everything and another thing i have learnt over the years is that politicians rarely do things to benefit the people, they are usually too busy with their own careers or bank balances. The sad part of the climate hysteria is that it has distracted politicians from acting to solve real and immediate environmental issues, from cleaning up our rivers and oceans to improving air conditioning and sanitation systems. The term "climate change" is meaningless. The climate is always changing; it warms and cools in a cyclic pattern every 51,000 years. Technically, we are still in an Ice Age because we have polar caps. At times in the past all of the polar ice melted. The last glaciation event ended 10,000 years ago, and we are now in the warm part of the cycle. But over Earth's geologic history, Ice Ages are more common than warm spells. Enjoy it while you've got it.

Climate change is real, but there's nothing to do about it. Why? Because it's going to keep changing. I live between 2 great lakes. My sister in law, lives in Alberta. She has stated that -10 C feels alot colder here than at her place. Why? Humidity. Water. The humidity makes the cold, feel colder, and the hot, feel hotter. That, and the climate in my area can change drastically in a few hours. Especially when the season is changing. I've seen a snowstorm on Halloween. I've seen green grass at Christmas. Oh No, the climate is changing, quick let's stick or heads up our butts so we can stop or farts from affecting the atmosphere, so we can save our planet. HEADS UP BUTTS TO SAVE OUR BUTTS, HEADS UP BUTTS TO SAVE OUR BUTTS,HEADS UP...

It's nice to hear this reasonable position where Frakking is talked about as a necessary bridge to better energies, since it's far from perfect, but at least it sounds like a viable first step.

The cities are full of pavement, especially asphalt. So the cities ARE much hotter than they have been. And therefore the perception of most city dwellers is that the entire planet is warming up. But this only happens in the cities. Average temps in the majority of the country have stayed the same. Also, the former Soviet Union has twelve time zones, and hundreds of weather stations. When the Communists went broke, ALL those weather stations went off line. So the averagely low temps they reported fell out of the mix of average temps worldwide, and the world temp seemed to go up.

Talking with a 30 year airline pilot who looks down on the northern latitudes all the time, he stated nothing has changed north of anchorage.
