there's also an option to clean the drivers and shutdown the rig, meaning there's no need to boot in OS and shutdown manually. plus, it only takes one attempt to clean out the drivers, and you're good to go. make sure you unplug your ethernet or turn off your wifi, to prevent windows from downloading drivers.
AMD and Nvidia drivers can be on the system at once and be fine. They don't conflict with each other. So something else must be going on with his system
I did this like yesterday or so, thanks for me switching to amd. I used that. It kicked my pc into a nice blue screen, but came back alive without a single problem. Works flawless.
You don't need to do this actually. Just put in the new gpu and install new gpu driver. It doesn't matter whether you still have previous gpu driver installed. But there is a perform a clean install option, and it will remove all previous versions of old gpu drivers. And you wont get bsod.
But when you go back into Windows, there is a chance that windows installed generic Gpu drivers. Please unplug your Lan Cable and then install your Driver
Generic drivers are unaccelerated drivers that are needed to give a VGA output (don't quote me on the VGA) when the full driver doesn't exist. It's already installed in every windows installation and doesn't interfere with anything. If those drivers didn't exist, your monitor would just show a black screen as long as the accelerated drivers weren't installed.

Best practice is..... Download the driver for your gpu (dont install yet), disable wifi or ethernet or both so you have no connectivity, then restart windows into safe mode and run DDU, "clean and do not restart" AMD, intel and NVIDIA GPU drivers, and then restart the PC and install the correct driver, after which you can turn internet back on
As others are saying, safe mode, DDU everything, swap GPU, done. This guy is a great example of why people who dunno what they are talking about, shouldnt make guide videos.
Had to use DDU for the first time on my laptop after i kept getting a 'GPU not detected' error on a PS2 emulator i was using. Repeatedly updating drivers, such as with the game-ready drivers from Nvidia can cause some weird errors, so DDU is a useful thing to try if you think the issue is driver-related.

After uninstalling all gpu drivers, I go to device manager and refresh. Uninstall gpu driver and check delete driver box 2x. Then I power off and switch gpu.
@@justboycottlife9044it's not possible to swap GPUs from a laptop, but a GPU can be added. So if you add an additional GPU I think both the drivers should be included and not be bothered.
Can someone help me out? I've switched from Nvidia to AMD, before swapping I have uninstalled the Nvidia drivers with DDU. But whenever I played some games my AMD GPU kept on getting disabled by Windows, and I got a black screen. I don't know how to re-enable the GPU back on because I can't see anything. U can delete the old drivers , even amd software gives u an obtion to delete all old drivers when installing the new one HOWEVER be aware , there will be plenty of issues in game and with the softare u will use , no mater if u switched to AMD or Nvidia For example i had an GTX 1080, and bought an Rx 670/ xt , and i was too lazy to indtall windows , i used the app the guy shown in the video Every single time i had problems with the app from amd, it wasan't detecting the games , it wasan't showing the fps in the game but it was showing it when i was just in windows without any programs running, i had some lag, and usualy whenever i started a game i had to wait 2 minutes for the textures to load on the GPU (i had lag and huge frame drops for that time) One month later i installed windows 11 (before i had 10) with a fresh install and all of the problems just disapeared

The 5700G is enough to pair with the 4060 so no bottleneck, a 550 psu should also be enough since ada lovelace is very efficient, and the x63 would be way more than enough for your 5700G.

For NVIDIA we have Noevau to install the real proprietary drivers (though with NVK it might replace it), and for AMD (and intel) YOU DONT NEED TO INSTALL DRIVERS BECAUSE THEY ARE OPEN SOURCE! Windows seems so old compared to Linux

Cpu doesn't really matter too much if you're just gaming. i recommend r5 5600x as the cpu because currently it's $150 usd and for 1440p, rx 6700 xt/6800xt/7800xt. For new parts, the 6800xt and 7800xt are around ~500 usd so i would recommend 7800xt if you're buying New and not used gpus. 6700xt is around ~$300 usd for new and it's still a good contender for 1440p though just not as good of course

already did DDU from watching other youtube channel. went to safe mode remove all drivers and then boot normal mode install driver.
