    Thanks. First detent is wind, second is date, third is time, wonder why the owners manual doesn’t say that?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před měsícem

      It should! To be honest, though, I don't remember reading the manual as I'm quite familiar with these movements.

    I've seen some people suggest that when locking the crown one should turn it anti clockwise first, until it falls in the first thread, and then clockwise. But Seiko don't seem to mention this at all themselves.

      I suppose that's good practice, but it's not completely necessary. You should always be able to feel when it's screwing in and when the crown has completely tightened down.

      Hey there,
      Yes, this tutorial work for that Seiko Turtle model as well (they have the same movement)

    Super helpful. With manual winding, how can you tell when you have wound it enough?

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +3

      Hey Brad,
      That's a good question. It's really mostly about "feel". As you wind the crown and the mainspring winds tighter, you should start to feel more and more resistance when winding via the crown. Most modern manual movement have a system in place to prevent overwinding, though older manual watches can be broken if they are wound too much.

      @@Bespokeunit Thanks for that. Yes it's really hard to tell on this watch. I feel like I'm in a movie pretending to crack a safe open with my ear against the door.

    Should the watch be winding as I screw the crown in? This is my first watch that has hand winding

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 7 měsíci

      It probably will wind a bit as you get the crown into the crown tube screw, but it's negligible. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Why is it in English and Spanish? Would that cause for it to go from Mon to Lun that is Monday still rather than Tues???

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem +3

      It's a common feature of Seiko dive watches to have two different languages for the date, so you can set your date to either.
      Just to clarify, it doesn't alternate from one to the other. So the date disc reads Mon-Lun-Tues-Mar-Wed-Mier etc.... When the movement changes the date, it hops over the other language to maintain the same language you configured it to.
      Hoping this makes sense.

    It seems that the bezel and chapter ring is misaligned? Hmm..

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před 5 měsíci

      On the King Turtle? I didn't notice it. The bezels aren't exactly precise; each of the positions have a slight bit of play so it's possible that's what you're seeing.

    If I adjusted the time counterclockwise, do you think I damaged my Seiko king turtle? Then afterwards I adjusted the time clockwise.

    • @Bespokeunit
      @Bespokeunit  Před rokem

      Adjusting time at any point. either CW or CCW, is incredibly unlikely to damage the movement. The same cannot be said for adjusting the day or date, which can indeed damage the movement if done at the wrong time.
