We hope you'll be inspired to build one yourself, or have someone you know who is handy with woodworking build you one. These things are a space saver for sure! We truly hope you enjoy the video of us taking logs to lumber, and then turning it into a useful tool in our home!

instead of making it more narrow, you could insert a strip of wood into the slot as a spacer to narrow the track but keep it flexible for larger can if needed.
Same in the back of the smaller cans to push them to the front of the cabinet. Liked the idea of recessing this in the wall on a new or remodel build. Jus sayin'
That is a great idea for can storage, very pretty. You could sell those
Definitely been thinking about it
@@SawyerRidgeFarm You could possibly make it a kit even if you had to find out what width and height to cut the frame pieces. For those without tools, finish then ship. But, for those of use that can, at the least, glue and nail, just ship the pieces labeled A through Z with a basic drawing and minimal instructions. I would buy the kit for sure.

I would buy a few of the kits

Seeing this in person is just BEAUTIFUL! Y'all truly out did yourself on this one!! I can't even talk trash on this video...haha 😂
O jason you are so kind with your words lolol
i bet you 'kinda' wanted to trash talk. 🤣
great project!
@The Crockers....Man, I bet that hurts Jason. (But if you'd tried we'd have 'flamed' ya!....LOL.) ps.....It's great to see you and Jared working together more. Y/T is da bomb. JMHO's.....~Eli.
Very nice and beautiful wood!! I’d never have that many cans in a year but a smaller version would be nice 👍🏻
Need no why Jason Crocker blocked me face book messenger always kind polite respectful towards him in my comments
When making cabinets my dad used a tack cloth to clean off the wood instead of water. That way if the wood was prone to turn a different color with water, it kept that from happening.
You can also use a tack cloth between polyurethane coats (after a light sanding). This makes the finish look like glass.
I remember being responsible for those steps when I got older... I did have to pass inspections between steps!
Thank you very much I will have to get that
I knew you were a marine even, before I notice the emblem on the shirt.💖Thank you for your service.

@@SawyerRidgeFarm thank you
@@barbarafentress2933 thank you
And you too Bobby
That’s exactly what I need to do. Too little cabinet space and my canned goods already takes up 3/4ths of it.
I admire this man, not everyone needs google sketch up to do a quality job !!
Thank you Bo
I showed this to my husband. We may be building one in the not too distant future! :-)
That's awesome linda
BEAUTIFUL.
I LOVED this when I first saw it, and now you made it even better!.... Now I just have to get my husband or son to build me one 🙂. Excellent job Jacob 👍
Thank you auntie ann
You can do it. Why ask for help?
@@jeffmiller7277 I have severe tendentious in both wrist, so I'm unable to do it myself
God Bless your hearts and your pup and pets!!!
Locust Grove, Ok. WOW! That brings back some memories. In 1980, as a 14 year old kid, we moved from Bakersfield, CA to Salina, OK. I remember going to Locust Grove a few times for lunch at a dairy bar after spending time at the lake between Salina and Locust Grove. Oh and I really like the can sorter and I plan to make a few for our new house build.
That thing holds enough cans it could stock the local Dollar General! Definitely need one of these!! That poly made those grains pop out!
Yes finally Jacob I need one of those soooo bad.
INCREDIBLE!!!
Looks great! I’ll need one for my tiny house. I bought a 12x32 shed and converting it to my home. I started watching Jason Crocker when he was reviewing sheds. He did such a good job that I bought me one. I enjoy all yours and Alex’ videos. Y’all are such a sweet couple. God Bless You and keep you safe!! ❤️from Tennessee!!!
Thank you trey
Absolutely beautiful job!
Beautiful piece. Can't wait to see the next project.
BRILLIANT!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Looks gorgeous! Good work and good stewardship!!!
I didn’t even know my family needed this before watching the video. But we have limited pantry space and the cans take up a lot of the space inefficiently. Absolutely going to build something like this. Thanks for the video!
Your welcome jerbear glad I could help
Brilliant.
Beautiful.
Great job, it’s beautiful
The solution to people that do not want to see the cans is to just simply put a door on the front
That's what I was thinking, hinged, maybe a message center.
And to cut down on weight, make it a thin frame with cloth stretched over it.
I was thinking the same thing!
Some folks want to stealth prep so as to not attract improvident neighbors.
Maybe a curtain ?
Thank you!
Beautiful!!!
Well done Jacob! 👍
That looks great, I love the cedar.
It is absolutely amazing!
Absolutely beautiful
You make a lot of good points! I appreciate you explaining all the issues and design modifications! Great video!
It's really nice. I love Cedar. Great for closets, and so many things.
Thank you sandra
Omgosh it's beautiful. I'm going to make one that slides between my freezers. And put it on rollers.
Pretty good idea
Martha, that is a great idea! I was trying to figure out how to make that work, between my fridge and pantry. I have a tiny pantry and getting all the cans out would be awesome!!!
Heat from fridge shorten can life. So would heat from stove & oven. Not long term storage.
You did a great job Jacob. Looks beautiful. God bless.
Thank you Dani
This is absolutely amazing!!!!! Beautiful job Jacob!!!
Beautiful
Beautiful and very creative ❤ y'all did a fabulous job. I love it.
It looks so beautiful! 😍 I love pine wood! I’m gonna have to get my husband to make me one now LOL

Dillion I expect you to go build one now.

I Really Like Your Channel. And I forgot to say GOD BLESS!
Looks really nice Jacob. I'm going to see if my son will make me one. The cedar is beautiful. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS
Beautiful work.
I just love projects like this. Wonderful idea and very skillful Jacob. Be blessed son in all you do. Know this Granny sure have enjoyed watching and learning from you, thank you.♥️🙏
Us Grannies are thinking, yes I want to build that too! Next thought is hummm.. can I still get up and down and squat and get on my knees?! Yeah it will be worth it ! I’ll just soak those aches and pains away in a hot bath and of course you have the “trusty heating pad,”to help out the back ! 🤣Blessings!💕
I LOVE this! It is beautiful and very much needed in these days. The whole video is great. .. the music, the dog, ALEX, and of course, Jacob, you did an amazing job!
Thank you crocker parents
Beautiful dog ! You can tell Judah is well taken care of and very loved , just look at that healthy beautiful shiny coat ! 🐕🦺 Blessings!💕
It is really so pretty!!! I just love cedar
Love love love this!!!
Great job Jacob. You made the DIY build very simple and explained it very well. This would make a great DIY project for anyone.. That cedar looks awesome. You and Alex did a great job on the finish too. And something you can be even more proud of is you milled it from right there on your own property from start to finish. If I had plenty of cedar on my property it wouldn't take long for everything in my house to be cedar...lol
Thank you Gerry, I feel like our house will all be in cedar soon.
Absolutely beautiful Jacob and Alex it's cool idea. Now do your trim around your door to match your Cedar. 😉
Always another project to do ! Lol Having the door trimmed in that beautiful cedar would be lovely! Blessings!💕
Very beautiful and so functional!
Fantastic!
Slick idea ,love the wood ! I love tomato paste and odd can stuff but a great idea and project . Your pup is growing fast ! It is beautiful and the wood looks stellar ! In person it must be smokin !
JACOB AND ALEX THIS IS VERY NICE AND WHEN THE WEATHER WARMS UP AND I CAN GET IN MY SHOP I AM GOING TO BUILD THIS VERY NICE. ALLOT BETTER THAN PUTTING IN CABINETS AND UNDER THE BED HAHA,. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR BUILD,
Thanks stan
Excellent idea
Thank you for keeping it simple.....
That is a beautiful project! I think you should make yourself a gun cabinet with that cedar wood. Then, a cedar chest for Alex for a special anniversary. You two work pretty well together.
Donna those are great ideas
You think you can modify and make one for Jason’s ramen noodles..Ha 😂 all kidding aside, this is a great project and I would love to have one for my own use.
The red cedar is so gorgeous!! Love it!!!
Love it, beautiful!!!!
Alex Juda's paws are as big as your feet ha ha
Jacob ❤ that storage idea.
I love this idea!! I wonder if a person could put 2 together with hinges on one side so the top one would swing out so you could get to the bottom one. I will have to think on that.
I would think it could be done.
I am thinking the exact same thing.
@@biffgee6797 Great minds??
I was personally thinking of making one short but long one for the back and two half as long for the front then joining them together so all the cans face inside and the two shorter ones open outwards like a cabinet. It would need some really strong hinges but that way I could hang it on the wall or attach a nice top to the back one only (that covers the front ones too, obviously) and use it as an extra work surface.
Heck, now that I think about it, you can turn that into a thin kitchen island maybe, if you build two cabinet style ones and place them back to back. He said it's about 4 inches deep, give or take, so four adds up to about 16 inches deep (maybe 15 inches if you eliminate one of the back panels and build the two in the middle as one piece) , and if you give it a top with a few inches of overhang, it would make a decent work space. If you add some heavy duty lockable wheels at the bottom, you could even move it around quite easily. Hmm... might be interesting for those with smaller kitchens. 😅
So awesome!! The cedar looks so beautiful on it !! Great job!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤
Looks awesome!
Jacob, you guys did an outstanding job with this. I'm very proud of the way you have transformed yourself. One added suggestion I would say, if you have a closet you don't use offen. You can build it into the sides or into the back of that closet. That would conceal it from prying eyes and incorporate more long term storage without taking up a lot of room. You could make every closet, along term pantry. LOL . Next vedio project could be a well organized root cellar, concealed up in the mountain. Like a hobbit house. Digging into the mountain for it, would keep the food nice and cold. G-D Bless you guys.
Good idea Angel's
@@SawyerRidgeFarm Your welcome. Keep ears and eyes open. Food shortages are going to get progressively worse. Plant grains.
I hope you're not giving us "the run around" about it, but the "run down". 😉
Brilliant 👏 👏
Great job. I love cedar.

Incredible work. Thank you for the idea.
I always wanted to build something similar. To able to use old before new. Prevent dents. Improve weight and space use. Been trying to problem solve a few issues you showed. Thank you.
Looks 😍 beautiful!!
Sooo happy you got this done. It was worth the wait!!!! You explained everything great. I, a 70yr old grandma, will be trying this once the weather breaks.😬 Thank you. It’s beautiful!
