    One of the easiest installs and some of the highest quality components I’ve ever seen for this oil catch can by Mighty Mouse! If you have a RAM you should consider it for sure!

  • @doughooks7411
    @doughooks7411 Před 2 lety +2

    Justin, the Mighty Mouse catch can was part of the build I did from Vengeance Racing last year. My 2016 Z06 ended up with 681/675 to the wheels, which is not massive, but I like the extra protection it provides. BTW, Love the XPEL PPF and ceramic coating on our C8 even though you were not the installer (because you were not our local company). Happy customer here! 💪🇺🇸

    Thanks for the video. Just about to install mine. I had the bracket powdercoated red to match my truck. Seems easy enough.

    Great video, thank you for sharing! Do you happen to know the length of each of the 2 hoses after you cut them for the install?

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you. They weren't long, there's more hose sent than you actually need.

    Some people complain about modern desiel engines having an EGR valve and carboning up the intake, just get a air oil seperator catch can, a popular modification in Austrialia. OEM don't because it's a maintence item that many people are not used to and it has to be done and at possibly irregular intervals.

  • @thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921

    Yes you do need one, especially if your using your car on a regular basis for performance. You dont want that oil burning on the piston at any time.

  • @flamethrowers5722
    @flamethrowers5722 Před 2 lety +1

    Been thinking about adding one to mine but worried about warranty and dealership service department seeing it. I guess I can swap it back to factory pretty easy when taking in for any issues or warranty work/recalls.

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Před 2 lety +1

      Super easy to swap back if need be but with that said it’s unlikely they would void any warranty over this.

  • @petercarey6883
    @petercarey6883 Před 2 lety +1

    As always, these performance related videos of yours are more than educational to say the least. Plus, as soon as I say "Mighty Mouse" in your thumbnail, you had me. Why? Because back in the day, all my Vette's were not Big Blocks, they were Mouse Motors and were known as the Mouse that roared and I had a built 327 cubic inch mouse motor that was built for the quarter mile with 12.5 to 1 compression pistons. No fuel additives needed in that it ran on pump gas. Yup, Sunoco 260 pump gas. Wish I had hoarded that gas away back then. Lord only knows what it would be worth today and what kind of power the new generation engines would make. Heck, today's engines might even blow up using that gas. 🤣
    Back to the Catch Can itself. I can't imagine any dealer ever recommending a Catch Can install. It just wouldn't say much for the manufacturer's engineering. I'm like you in that having one is certainly not going to damage the engine, so aside from the cost, what do we have to lose? It's already on my "To Purchase" list, but I have/had another brand of Catch Can in mind. I'm switching gears, no pun intended, to Mighty Mouse. I love the "little things," like the sight glass! 👍
    Questions on the Mighty Mouse. I'm guessing these are brand/model specific? If so, I guess there are different brackets as well for differ cars, like our Vettes and then possibly generation specific? FWIW, I like your mounting bracket. I'd be tempted to highlight it with a red paint or red powder coating especially since you already have a touch of red on the engine from the factory.
    Well, I see my timing is perfect. The end of your video and the end of my mug of Chock full O'nuts! Great upload Justin. 👍 Save the Wave 🙋‍♂

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Před 2 lety +1

      They are brand specific and they do make one for the ZR1 but it doesn’t have a fancy bracket like that, unfortunately. The only other one I know they make a bracket like this for is just a normal SRT hellcats.

    • @petercarey6883
      @petercarey6883 Před 2 lety +1

      I guess they'd have just their Catch Can though for a C6?

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes most likely. The kit they make for the ZR1 uses existing bolt holes to mount. Likely the same for your C6.

    • @petercarey6883
      @petercarey6883 Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks again Justin. Would the install as far the hoses are concerned be different for a Dry Sump vs. a non-Dry Sump system? As you may remember, my GS is a Dry Sump.

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Před 2 lety +2

      It would be a slightly different install but still pretty easy. My ZR1 is a little bit harder since the pcv is under the super charger

      @@HorsePowerObsessed I love your videos first and foremost and I’m a fan… I just don’t personally see the benefit to catch cans. It’s not an expensive part, but the overall value is hard to see and feel even when talking HP. As a car enthusiast I don’t see why anybody who had a few bucks to spare wouldn’t put one on….
