Rose đč can't hate the man, he is the definition of relentless and hard work despite he will never be where he was. Favorite player for that reason, his 50 point game and the emotion at the end is a must watch.
D-Rose man.. What couldâve been. Youngest MVP in NBA history at just 22. Then tore his ACL in his knee and heâs never been the same player. His team was up by 12 with only a minute left at the time of his injury. Shouldnât have even been in the game.. Youâre gorgeous btw

Derrick Rose was the reason why I was so hopeful as a Bulls fan in the early 2010s. They could've had a dynasty if it wasn't for those injuries Rose faced. I'm glad he's still playing at a high level today.

Rose is great. I love the guys heart and intensity. I miss those old days in Chicago though, that was a fun time.
Lol, I love how your face was like "wow" during and after every play! As a Chicagoan, I loved it. Derrick Rose, before the devastating injuries (which began in 2012), is often considered the fastest/quickest, most athletic point guard of all-time, and his potential was incredible. As someone also mentioned, he's also the youngest MVP in NBA History at only age 22.
There's no telling how many championships the Chicago Bulls might've won or how many more memorable games/rivalries against LeBron James and the Miami Heat, had he not been injured. Those injuries occurred when the Bulls were a top team in the league. He's since made an inspirational comeback, now at age 31. Since, you're getting into Derrick Rose reactions, I recommend next that you react to his 50 point game from last season (career high). It was one of the best feel good moments in sports. He's worked himself back into being a very good, All Star caliber player.

You've probably never seen him play before because he only played three seasons as that kind of explosive MVP caliber player. He had a devastating knee injury at that point that severely limited the most critical elements of his game in his speed and explosiveness. He's actually still in the league or at least he was as of last year, but he's a completely different player now. He spent like five or six years toiling away as a part time role player after his injury not being very good. He actually had a really solid season last year though, but you won't see any highlights of him blowing by guys or scraping the ceiling throwing down savage dunks on centers. His body just isn't capable of that kind of play anymore.

If it weren't for his terrible luck with injuries Rose would have been considered one of the best of all time. In addition to all the talent and athleticism he has the heart of a champion and is a cool guy to boot.
When he entered the NBA, he had the potential to be one of the best ever. Unfortunately, he has been plagued with injuries throughout his career and has never really lived up to his potential. And, I hate to say it, but on highlight #15, he got away with goaltending...

Being a kid from the south side of Chicago and experiencing D Rose was like the basketball heavens said " hey hey hey . I'm sorry about Michael . You couldn't have him forever lol . Here's a little something special . Oh his name is Derrick lol . "
I was at the buzzer beater vs Houston(#6) and the game that he tore his acl for the first time.
This guy was a magician at the rim; pulling off some seemingly impossible layups or dunks in heavy traffic. However he probably wouldn't have blown out his knees multiple times if he stopped leaping into heavy traffic, each time landing on one leg in some odd and contorted way. A case of one's greatest assets (speed, body control, vertical jump) suddenly becoming liabilities.
Unfortunately he tore up both his knees with all those dunks, hasnât been the same since but everybody loves him DRose1
The way you land after those dunks is really, really important. Sucks D-Rose had to learn that the hard way. I kinda cringe every time I see him land in his old highlights, because he was unknowingly chipping away at his own athleticism every time he did it.

Itâs less of just the dunks and more of how he lands on any jump. He always landed flat footed on 1 leg. That puts a lot of pressure on the knees and ankles.
I had the same issue when I was younger and paid the price for it by slowly burning out my knee.
Derrick Rose was the 2Pac/Biggie of the NBA he was truly great even at a young age. His short time on top will live in the hearts of NBA fans for ever. We only got a glimpse of what he could have done then he died.

Watching these without king and funk announcing isn't the same. Those two are so good together during this era
Of course I may be bias, since I am from Memphis where he played his college ball and lead us to the NCAA title game, but D Rose was a better more controlled Russell Westbrook, and yeah he suffered injuries, but I think what some people are not paying attention to is that the last 2 yrs he has been making a come back, he not the same athletically, but he is avg 22 ppg and make great plays again in Detroit.

The D-rose we have now is not the mvp version but a whole new tougher version. No excuses just hard work.

Injuries destroyed his MVP carrier basically. To me he was not #1, but for many he was .He was like top3 for sure for few years and maybe would be better at peak, but injury. He was lower hight than Lebron, Kobe or MJ. So you have to give this man respect, too bad injury, we will never know now ;(
