thanks for the review, saved me what probably would have been a massive headache trying to get the asetek la prima pedals setup with the incline.
Highly recommend the square tube model Dave mentioned and getting a fixed bucket seat
Helpful. Thanks mate 👍
looks good, better and a step up from my playseat challenge , could be the push i need to get back into racing,
for a 400€ rig which includes the chair ( assuming the chair would cost about 100-150€) seems like a good deal. maybe the pedal area can be modified to fix the pedals upside down.
Anyway to fix that frame flex by drilling extra holes and using additional bolts?
I have an old T500RS, I see that the wheel is compatible but I don't see the pedals that came with it in the pedal list. Does anyone know if my pedal will fit anyway? Maybe they"ll fit in the T300RS holes?
Do you think I will be ok with the theustmaster load cell pedals …
Quite surprised to see the GT Omega Art being compared as worse. I have one (about 6 months old) and I have to say it’s fantastic. I’m running a DD Pro 8nm and a set of CSL elite v2’s. I get no flex anywhere apart from the seat back does move a little under heavy braking. It’s a great rig for the money 👍
Same for since 1 few weeks and I love with pretty much the same gear really a good value and I'm going to get the stability bar at some point
This has been the cockpit I’ve been looking into. Are you using a reclining or fixed back seat? Been seriously thinking about getting that along with an NRG bucket seat/brackets/sliders because it’s cheaper than basically all SIM manufacturers seat setups, roughly $300USD altogether
I think the only reason this would be seen as better is the price is a decent bit cheaper and with lower level equipment both would perform about the same the only thing is the omega is better suited to handle upgrading to better equipment whereas this won’t scale up as well
@@evantalley4388 I’m using a recliner seat. The default one that you can buy with the rig. It’s barely an issue really. Doesn’t affect the racing at all 👍
Dave ‘I’m not a reviewer’ Cam.
Love the videos
Can this be used with fanatec clubsport pedals v3?
Honest words! 💪 that mid part of the rig going up when pushing the brakes is a no go for me… a tad more flexibility (options to modify) with the pedal tray and wheel base tray would’ve made it more attractive, imo. Have a good week, Dave! 👋
Informative and honest review, Nice! Just a question, I have Thrustmaster TLCM pedals and a T818 DD wheel, do you think this cockpit would be fine with this kind of hardware (especially the pedals)? Thank you!
Yes! The GTRacer is compatible with both of these products!
@@NextLevelRacinghi, I'm looking to buy this rig to run a TS-XW alongside T-LCM pedals.
The T-LCMs are already at an angle so my worry is that the pedals could be uncomfortable because of the angle of the pedal mount.
Could this rig be good enough for my setup?
I am looking for my first cockpit have you any recommendations I am 66 just get into sim racing
What would you call entry level i have a moza R5 not sure if the pedals will be positioned bad on that.
Great honest review here mate. Another company pricing themselves out of the market for me. For an extra £50 you can get an aluminium profile PSR3. The GT Omega Prime lite is about the same price or even a bit cheaper and same story with one of the Trac Racer cockpits. To be fair they don't come with a seat but I'd get a decent rig and a scrap yard seat over one of these. I owned the discontinued GT Omega Pro cockpit which is almost identical and I struggled once I got my DD. So yea again perfect review... Entry level gear only but why would you when you can get a proper decent rig for the same sort of money. I just don't get these companies 🤷♂️ They know people do their research, I can only assume they think that parents may buy their kids them for presents 🤷♂️ I'm struggling to see where they get any other sales
The only way you are getting rig that’s better than this for the same money or less is if you only buy a frame and get either a junk yard seat as u said or a cheap aftermarket seat. If you get an OEM seat with the frame you r looking at over $500 so I’d say this is actually pretty reasonably priced
For the target market it seems quite a nice little rig.
However if you decide that sim racing is for you then when you start upgrading to higher end equipment this will show it's weak points.
Been there and done that, but I am sure this will be a good rig for many people.
I know you said it was better than the GT Omega Art, but i disagree totally and feel it's an unfair comparison. My son has the Art with a CSL Elite & the V1 pedals and it certainly doesn't buckle in the middle when the brake is pressed, plus you can angle the pedal plate. There are struts you can buy that strength the base plate which makes it even better and lower the flex.
Agree 100%. This one is just bad engineered, that middle flex and no pedal adjustability is lazy.
I’d stay away from this even if it costed 50 euros.
It's better than the ART I had but admittedly it was a little while ago
@@davecamm contact GT Omega for one and compare the two its a great piece of kit for the price and has its own monitor stand. At least to compare.
@@deep_water believe it or not I never ask anyone for anything.
@@davecamm No bother, I've sent an inquiry to GT Omega tonight in the hope they take up the challenge and send a review sample to you.
This looks exactly the same like the old GT Omega Pro cockpit which has been discontinued... I would never recommend it to anyone, the good old saying buy cheap buy twice goes hard for this rig. In line with so many simracers doing the typical upgrades going from low to mid to high range, wasting money along the way. This rig was my waste of money. I had it for half a year or so before I upgraded to a proper 8020 rig, and the thing is worthless in after market, the flex is horrendous, etc etc. Oh well, some sucker will buy it and find out for themselves I guess.
Me and you both. Once I got half decent pedals and wheel it flexed so much all the time. Have an 80/20 profile rig and will never need another.
This rig is old. Funny how reviewers don't mention this. They do get it for free. It's different if they bought it with their own money.
You clearly have better options out there.
@@mazyata9958the gtracer came out very recently and is definitely one of best choices for this price but is certainly designed for more entry level equipment
All this wiggling and flexing may be OK now but I'm pretty sure will end up creating slack over time. Even with lower torque wheels...
I doubt a lot the durability of this product in the long run...
If your that's your concern torque the bolts and add some lock tight
Looks like this will be a no go for me. I really like the looks and reviews of the Playseat Trophy, but it’s pricey and not readily available in the USA.
The trophy is easy to get just buy the Logitech version same price
I’d go for the GT Omega Art over the Trophy it’s cheaper and more adjustable
Decent enough for mid range sim gear but deffo a no for DD wheels!
if only games got released as often as all this hardware to be used on…
Why does it look absolutely identical with the GT Omega PRO Cockpit? same design and same structure but just a touch more expensive.
That was discontinued in 2010 apparently 😳
@@davecamm not really, I've bought one from GT Omega in 2020 259£ if i can remember
They come pre branded from the same fabric thats why
Doesn't look inverted pedals friendly either.
Is beet powder a scam
This thing sucks. Put cheaply in a package, it will never last through a 10nm battle. I've had the wheelstand 2.0 at home for 5 years and it can handle my 8 nm, braking forces from hell and nothing bends. So stay on the ground, you don't get anything for free, from 10 nm always a rig!
When you can build an 80/20 rig for just over $200 these make zero sense
i'll be honest, it looks bloody terrible. £100 more to get to the playseat trophy is a no brainer for anyone considering this
first 👀
Nice to see for a change 😂 ok I'll get my coat 😊

Well, if you got premium pedals and wheel, you won't buy this....
La prima isnt 'premium'.
@@davecamm well, the bundle is three times the price of the sim rig...I'm poor, so that's premium for me
@@sdejong9165 I see what you mean but all I'm saying is someone could easily have some la prima pedals on the floor or wheel stand and think this would suit them. I'm poor too.
@@davecamm I was thinking bout buying the nlr f-gt...it's only 60 more and seems very nice to me...what do you say?
@@sdejong9165 it's the rig I use and I really like it. Had it for almost a year now and no flex but for the seat: it does flex a little bit. Doesn't bother me because the back of the seat is up against the wall so I never notice it, but I might if it wasn't. Also bear in mind that I'm using a Moza R5, so not load cell pedals and not the strongest DD wheel. One other thing: In "formula" mode, it's actually quite similar to a GT seating position, while the "GT mode" is closer to a road car position. I'd recommend though if the above isn't deal-breaker-ish to you.
lol lets be honest its trash
