Firstly: Sometimes you don't know you are really in "the struggle" of a certain sin until someone points it out . Yes, it may be one of the most major additions and sins in our time like (lust, fortification, lying, greed, envy, jealously, etc.). What Henery is saying is also right because everyone has a speck or a stick in their eye but where he went a little wrong was where he didn't mention that not everyone has the same type of spec because not everyone struggles with the same thing - just to be realistic here-. We can advise those who are struggling to overcome it when WE OURSELVES have overcome it. It is always better to work on something together and tell people what you are struggling with, and God will use people to help you, but God deals with us personally and at the end of the day we have to put in the works that carry our faith.
Second thing: We all come from different backgrounds with different people and with that comes different interpretations of the bible, we also have to include culture. Things that are considered a sin may not be to others.
