I am team no sink in the island. My island is actually a large peninsula and I use it for prep when cooking, but I also use it as a fabric cutting table for my many sewing projects. I need a large uninterrupted surface for this, and a sink or a cooktop would be in my way. Luckily, my sink does have a nice view of my backyard and the hummingbird feeder on an outer wall.

I guess a small sink with a garbage disposal wouldn't be too bad. Other than that, I'd rather have a lot of clear space to work. If there's no room to put a massive island, then a large sink makes no sense
