Just bought one for 700 on sale from Best Buy! Excited to use it for class/work as a comp sci/math student and maybe a little bit of gaming (mainly emulating old stuff). Hope its worth it!!

This laptop is different compared to others out there. The screen is 14.5 inch 3K 120hz and it has a GPU for gaming/graphic works at such a small form factor which is rare. The bang for buck on this one is really nice.
I'm planning to buy this one, found it on eBay open box for around 650$ with the Ryzen 7 7735hs and the 3050 6GB, and I'm wondering how is the coding experience on this laptop
Awesome price! The 14.5in screen is perfect for coding on the go. I mostly use VSCode. The processor is fast. Plug it in to get maximum cpu clock speed.
thanks , finally get the exactly review for my personal use . I am just worried about the "regregirator fan noise" , I mean if you are compiling code or run app using wsl2 , will it got too intense ?
The laptop comes with the Lenovo Vantage app that lets you control the fan speed, so you can minimize fan noise. Note that the CPU will operate at a lower frequency to reduce heat. However, this happens on all laptops though to combat heat, either the fan does the cooling or the CPU frequency lowers.
So if u put it on 100% brightness how many hours of video playback will it last? Any idea if the none touch screen has the same problems with reflectivness?
I use it to edit and render CZcams videos at 1440p resolution and it works well. Make sure to plug it, and set performance mode and fan to maximum. I have the 16gb memory version, but I recommend 32gb.
The system requirement for Revit is very high. I don’t know how big and complex your models are at school, but I think you need a much higher end laptop.
Isn't 90C degrees too hot though?! I started playing an FPS and after 30 minutes it showed 99C and that was even despite having it sitting on top of a cooling pad with 4 fans. I like the laptop a lot but that high of a temp is no bueno.
Maybe a bit too late but if you have an intel cpu it will get very hot. If you're like me and have the amd variant put it in balenced mod and disable cpu boost (go watch watt performance video), then you will have temps in the 80C

Have you thought about installing a matte screen protector? It should work like any other matte screen then....even with more ambient light

Do you have any problem related to the laptop's hinge? I heard that the yoga line-up has bad hinge
I have not had any hinge problems with my 10 year old yoga.

You can probably get 5-6 hours. Non-touch laptop won't have terrible reflections.

Bestbuy has the Ryzen 6800 with 16GB RAM for $800, but I think your Costco deal for the 6900 with 32GB RAM is better.
