I know this vid is from a while ago , but I gotta say , I got my gem because of your comparison video and I haven’t regretted it . I stopped bowling 30+ years ago and took it back up last spring , and even cranked out a 299 not too long ago. You’re correct sir , that Gem 💎 is a 💎 gem. Thanks for all your content, I love it !

I mean I’m sure you already did some of these but comparable balls like phaze 2 or iq compared idol Helios then low ended stuff I. Believe you already have a lot of these on house would love to see them compared to sport shots.

I was wondering about the Altered Reality that you use ( I bought mine cuz of you) what polish/grit did you take yours to? We have a lot of oil in the middle to work with.

Bowling on the 2019 US Open #1 pattern this Sunday… which is 45ft but completely flat 1:1 ratio, I’m bringing the reality lol!

Luis, great vid. I have a Proton and I will cut it from my bag as it does not perform like it did new. Our house shot has way more oil than any of the other houses in my area. I tried putting surface on it and didn’t like the reaction. Might get the Gem. I really wish they made a stronger symmetrical core solid ball as I prefer symmetrical balls. I have a Phase 2, but it’s not strong enough when I get into heavy oil patterns. Keep up the great vids, great content. You get better every vid.
I heard thats where the axiom came in but sadly I never had that one!
The problem is you probably need to have your Pro Shop bring it back to like-new condition if you are Pro Shop cannot do it and pull all the oil out of it then someone else can.

Good video, our house shot is 44 feet, and everyone's average dropped about 20 points as its constant 10 pins. So it's good to see what balls you use on a long pattern. I've been using the Helios but after a game and half it feels dead. Would like to see what you'd go to next after the solids stop working.

Need your help again Luis :) Speed dom/rev challenged bowler, 1 my houses' league shot is 41' 25 mil house shot, so its "heavy". I've given up on my Super Nova. 500 to polished, its just always to slow for me. Lookin for a new #1 ball. Strongly considering exotic gem and prolly keep it @ 2000 guessing, for the fresh. Feels like I'm always wanting more shape on the fresh, why I'm thinkin the exotic over reg gem. Reality seems to shape well too but I always want my stuff to slow down and turn, so not sure bout the slightly higher rg reality vs Gems'. Thoughts? Thanx!
The problem I always see with solid bowling balls is the have way to much hook if I try and use them even if I throw a lower end pearl ball I put so much on it, it’s still going to hook just a little less compared to a solid that I can’t control what so ever.

I threw my Crux Prime on the 45' Dragon. It went as straight as an arrow. I struck a lot still but the lines are TIGHT!!!

If I had more money I’d add both the GEM and the Reality to my arsenal for situations like the dragon or shark pattern.
He on staff meaning he probably gets them for cost. Being 80 bucks a ball

My cost is higher than that. But it’s definitely worth adding them to the arsenal when you can!
Hy Luis great vídeo !! What layout You use in this video?? I hace the Reality pin up and the mass bias away from the thumb, but I'm no happy with reacción in heavy oil, the ball is too early and weak reaction in The backend (I'm left hand).
I believe when I short this I was still using the 45x4.5x45

They were all 30x5x30
Was that a fresh pattern that you started on? It looked like it broke down slightly faster than I would expect. Through 4 games I'm assuming I'll be switching balls a few times as I move left.
Seems long but thin, so transition is fast and a big move could mean big trouble.

Please think about bowling on lanes which have transitioned.
The lanes transition after every shot, and he threw like 40-50 shots, I'm quite sure the lanes transitioned, just look at the shots towards the end of the video if you want to see transition 🤷🏿♂️
The problem is that the lanes will transition differently every time you bowl depending on where you bowl which is why I bowl on the fresh
Considering on replacing my Proton Physix with the Gem. For some reason it isn't reacting on really heavy oil, even at slower speeds.
Gem is 💰💰💰
You need to find a pro shop that can bring the ball back to like-new condition. They can maybe even change the surface for you if you want

8 didnt think you have them all a fair shake. Like you said its transitioning quickly. You should've shot 1,1,1,2,2,2, and so forth. Aside from that, i feel like you could be went 8 with the proton had you tried. You should've kept going till you missed. I own the gem and the proton. I have thrown them in league house shot and tournament now and prefer the proton. My proton seems stronger but my gem is earlier. Both great balls and most people wont ever need both. And i would NEVER cut the proton it has amazing carry and it's alot of fun. I can roll it through 3 games of league. The gem not so much. I can roll the proton almost anywhere on the lane giving it way more versatility than the gem, i found. I am not a pro. I have been bowling since I was about 5. I bowl as many tournaments and leagues as I can afford. "Bowling is life!" But i love your videos. Keep it up.

Maybe you can make a comment for people letting them know what does not always best to buy a new ball. I am reading the reviews and a lot of people don't realize that their proton physics needs cleaned and the oil pulled out of it every so often or it will not react like it did when it was new. Either that or everyone that wants to sell their proton I will give them $20! Because it sounds like a lot of people want to get rid of it
