She was 15. By the way she's an adopted girl. Her real mother almost killed her in the bathtub when she was 3 years old. And then she threw Diana in the street in winter time. So then Diana spent 2 years in an orphanage, she didn't say a word, that is lost an ability of speech. When she was 5, she was adopted by an employee of this orphanage and on the advice of her friends she took her to a vocal teacher and so, and Diana first restored her singing, and then began to speak again. As you see, she has a special fate. She sings first and just then she speaks. In other words she needs to sing to just talk. So you can hear the results of her soul trauma in her manner of singing though she has actually overcome it and transforms it into something genious.

That’s all true. She had a horrible childhood until she was finally Adopted.
Still to this very day she’s very afraid her real mother will find her. When her adoptive mom took her in she said to Diana we’re going to have to move very far far away.
So glad the story has a happy ending.
She starting speak When she was 5 years old.
She’s so young, and in complete command of her huge instrument. Diana is a gift. I wish a great career, and a happy life.

This girl had a profoundly disturbing childhood from what I have read in comments from her other songs. She seems to have channeled that pain into
her performances and it may account for some of the 'maturity' you point to in her vocal offerings. God bless her!
I agree. She is amazing, and it built her up so much.
I often wonder if her biological mother who left her on the street in the cold like garbage realizes who she is. Most likely not because of the adopted name change. If she's active on the internet it's possible because the backstory is known so well but I doubt she does. I really wish she could. Although this type of person wouldn't feel sad for depriving herself of this beautiful soul, she'd just feel bad she can't cash in.
@@ronaldmcrae4896 From what I’ve read in comments (not sure how accurate they are) her biological mother has tried to contact her after she found all of her fame but Diana has said she already has a mother who loves her and won’t have anything to do with her biological mom now.
@@babybirdhome I've always wondered if her mother was aware of who she was because of the name change or even knows of her as a performer. I've only run across that comment once. So like you I question if it's fact. I certainly hope so. The thought of her being able to give that bitch a smack down makes me warm and fuzzy. Life is full of irony though. If not for her tragic start she might not have even survived her childhood or if she did never amounted to anything and the world be deprived of this wonder person/talent.
She was beaten and abused most of her early life, and at 3 she was found abandoned at a bus stop in the cold, with a broken collar bone.

I cannot even describe how impressive this beautiful little lady is when she performs....
There's no other way to describe her singing but supernatural. It just grabs you on the first few notes and shakes you like a rag doll in a trance. It's so emotional my spirit feels literally drained afterward listening to her! I'd love to hear her sing with someone like Jeff Castalucci...the two of them together would blow out eardrums as well as speakers.
Watch her "Havana" cover, where she reminds you that she's still a kid who can have fun. And the video of her birthday party... She's just so precious.
Listen to the one when she’s on that talent show. That to me is her best performance of this song her voice is other worldly and her vocal runs and vibrato along with her tone are just immaculate. 👍🏼👍🏼

The only way I can describe her performance with full honesty is, there is an uncanniness to the beauty of her singing and a beauty in her unsettling performance that just captivates my attention. Maybe its the context of the song [though I don't know because I am not knowledgable with French] but despite her smiles there is a profound and deep sadness that oozes in her voice. Truly ear catching to an emotional level and beautiful in an otherworldly way. I can't even sum her up as a pleasant surprise of a random youtube find, she truly sounds one of a kind in a hauntingly magical way.

You should enjoy this one. Looking forward to it. Maybe you have noticed that both Dimash and Diana both are not afraid of silence while on stage. First when no music happening the silence is used as another tool. 2nd both are not afraid to not be singing but still be in character while music is playing while in character. I think that is part of both of different types of charisma. You should appreciate that. It goes beyond the technical and technique of singing to preforming on stage both in classical, broadway, yodeling, concert etcetera.

The story about her almost drowning in the bathtub sounds real to me. I've worked with people who had severe post natal depression with psychotic features. Tragedies like what almost happened to her are possible if people do not get treatment for this very treatable condition. I am happy she survived and is now thriving.
