I will never warm to the rose gold sovereigns or any gold coin that isn’t yellow for that matter.
I get that, 24 carat has better appeal, but have to say they don't look as pink as the pictures make them out to be

I prefer the older bright yellow sovereign coins ,they have an enchanting history and character.
I agree, I do prefer the more yellow colour of the older sovereigns but this is what we have at the moment 😕
I buy sovereigns with lovest premium possible...
We all like shinning/sparkling coins, but real value is in the gold content...
Sovereigns I find always seem to have the lowest premium 😁
I would rather pay a bit more and get a back dated double sovereign with a completely different design.
Ive just acquired a Brunel dbl proof sovereign for less than £900.

I think if you buy a product like this then you need an idea of if/when the time comes where you would sell it, for instance a bullion merchant is likely not to care about which box it comes in, the finish of the coin or if it comes with a nice leaflet, basically a merchant is likely to just give you the bullion price, snap your hand off, then make a huge profit on it. This is why I do not buy this type of product even though I do like them, I just buy the bullion grade coins. Not for me.
That's very true and always worth considering when you buy these coins. I got the special design ones but for this just going to get the bullion versions.

@@speckledjim_ it is slightly more pink than the older sovereigns would be nice if they went back to that mix over the copper one.

I think these are the same prices as last year... maybe you got yours cheaper from another dealer .. but I think Memorial was £720 or so .. plus gold is high.. I wouldn't expect them to lower prices.. good to see they've dropped the mintage figures ..
Oh was it really? Mine was £695, maybe they had a small discount then over the mint. Still find it odd that other places can offer them cheaper than the mint, to me shows that the mint is all about profit. Is good to see the mintage drop though, just a shame they are so expensive.
@@the_islandstacker I think buying the half proof and full bullion sovereign makes more sense.. for the price and metal content .. best of both...
@@chrisb.h4605 the half is still massively expensive as well, but guess you do get the better mintage with it. I'll probably just grab a bullion.
@@the_islandstacker I think .. or hope the gold price will drop or stabilise soon .. it's like.. the Seymour Unicorn 1/4 .. just can't buy at that price .. I'm just going with the proof half for now.. and see what the future brings price wise ..

Prices are absurd. Wait a year and pick it up much cheaper at auction. Never buy from these bandits.
I know it's just crazy, I was at a coin fair today and pf70 were going for RRP price so definitely worth wanting
