People like to try and clown Hammer for losing money but they fail to realize why he went bankrupt. He was giving so many others the opportunity to share in his fame. All those dancers had to be paid and many were off of the streets he wanted to give them an opportunity at a different way of life. He will forever have my respect for NOT being selfish.
I don't think anybody fail to realize anything it was plain as day he paid all his friends that's what killed it. It's amazing how many friends you have when you're paying them.
people talking him 2 investing in things he didnt know about, he had like 20 race horses wtf???. props 4 helping his people im sure he learned alot him and tyson both.Cause he was bigger than life.
These were Grown ass people dancing they ass off! ( and for 2 hours straight during his concerts) And u got these 20yr olds now who cant even get thru one song without being defeated! This video has some of the best choreography of all time! He also said he wanted his girl dancers(357) to be able to dance harder than men were dancing at the time...and boy did they ever! This man was a fucking genius!
I remember reading that they would take morning runs for a few miles to keep themselves in shape. You HAD to have some kind of endurance to do all this. They were awesome!
I dare anyone to watch a Hammer video and try not to dance. His music gets you hyped, feeling good and ready to bust a move no matter what. He got flak back in the day for selling out but to me, he was an unstoppable force and was bringing up his community at the same time. Hammer doesn't get the respect in the hip hop alumni and he should.
A lot of us couldn't appreciate Hammer when he was in his prime, but here almost 20 years later, I can appreciate how much of a beast he was back then...Hammer was killin' 'em!
This was the first song/video I ever saw from MC Hammer. Let's be honest guys, we never saw nothing like this before. He made the running man. Hammer was I'll with his. The last entertainer on stage.
+shizukagozen777 What I mean is the last entertainer who brought dancing and energy. I was referring to someone who came after Michael Jackson. Almost like if I saw Michael Jackson dancing and I made the same comment. Then you would say, "Well what about James Brown?" I'm referring to someone who came after the fact. In this case Hammer came after MJ, so I'm just referring to him being the last to invent New dances and being a dancer on stage. Hope that makes sense.
MikeMicable Yeah, it makes sense. I understand now. :) (Even if I think that there still are a few entertainers. Maybe they don't invent new dances but they are real entertainers though)
I know what you mean. I remember the first time I saw his video. It came on Yo! MTV Raps on a Saturday morning and after that Hammer blew the fuck up. It was new and fresh for us. We'd never seen anybody rapping and dancing like that.
He wouldn’t sell his soul. And he took care of his team. The wrong combination for the corrupt industry unfortunately. They want people who are willing to do whatever whenever and however for fame, even a few sacrifices here and there. I hope Hammer is doing well these days. I respect him.
Those dance moves are still sick AF! I remember many an afternoon watching Rap City trying to catch my favorite rap videos to video record them. This is one of my favorites. Thank god for you tube!
OMG! Saw this video in LA in '88 when I visited my dad! They hadn't started playing him in Seattle yet! This is when I first heard of Hammer! Not gonna lie... taped his videos onto vhs and spent many hours learning all of his dances!!! Lol! Love it!
Hardest first 30 seconds of dance you'll find. This was pure fire. Hate on Hammer for gettign caught up at the end, but it doesn't get much better than this. I couldn't even wipe the smile off my face the whole video. Straight fire.
Hammer is one of my favorite rappers. I am so happy I grew up in an era when music was made to PUMP IT UP. I remember when I first heard this song. My favorite lyric as a child was 'you a snake, I'm a mongoose.' I had to look up what a mongoose was, but I learned that day!
MC Hammer really don't get the credit he deserve for his influence on the music business.. hardcore rap/gangster rap and all that is cool but this guy showed that you can dance and have fun and be a rapper at the same time. So much energy and great moves. He ruled the 90s along with Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan and other greats of that time.
Some so-called gangsters were trying to act like they weren't feeling this, but when they went to the club they got hype to this shit. Hammer was that dude back in the day and he deserves his props.
I am glad to see that most of the comments about this song and Hammer are positive. When I first saw this video back in my early teens, I was blown away. From a dancing point of view, he was like a Michael Jackson of Hip-Hop. He was an entertainer and showman. And, for people who don't know hip-hop, if it wasn't for people like him or Will Smith...hip-hop would not be where it would be. He was hip-hop's first 10 Million Record Seller. PUMP IT UP HOMEBOY!!!
We saw him in Tampa on Lets get it satarted tour with EnVogue and Vanilla Ice as opening acts. Before Ice Ice baby. Me and brother sat in the last row was still best concert ever. I was 8 or 9.
Hammer to us growing up in the late 80s and 90s was the equivalence of what James Brown was to 60s and 70s..... they were the masters of getting DOWN 💯!
These videos in this era were the best, never duplicated today ever. Hammers moves were flawless, and there will never be a another Mc hammer, 2 Big Mc, Or Oaktown 357. You would have had to come up around this era to know real old school. also speaking of the other artist in those times too. Original
I saw this when I was a kid, learned every step, and still no one else moves like hammer. solid. i wonder if he can still do this... i love that its not over produced, over costumed, etc.
Back in the day, late 80s and early 90s, we danced hard like that at the club--men and women. We weren't concerned about sweating out our clothes or our hair, or ruining our makeup. We, as women, just wanted our lipstick and our earrings to stay on. We went just as hard as the fellas did. Sweat flying, folks backing up to give us room so they wouldn't get hit when we got loose. Lord, them was some good times.
@3:05 and 3:14-3:21, they went hard and killed it. I remember practicing these dances when it used to air on video soul and video vibrations. A classic video I can never get tired of watching.
Let's Get it Started was a dope azz album.I remember as a kid arguing at who was the best dancer, MC Hammer or Big Daddy Kane. I used to watch "Let's Get it Started" and "Pump it Up" on the Video Jukebox/The Box all day long. I used to bump "They Put Me In the Mix" all the time. I always respected him for his grind and hustle even if he was never the best rapper but he came hard on this album. People criticize him for going pop but he did the right thing. The music industry is ruthless and cutthroat. You better make as much money asap. Your career could be over as soon as it begins. The mistake he made was trying to take care of too many people and being too loyal . I never liked the fact that he dissed Run DMC, them dudes was true pioneers. I would have loved to see him go at LL and/or Big Daddy Kane, younger dudes who was hungry for battle. I know he mentioned LL name but from what i remember, LL didn't even think dude was significant enough to respond to. it's all fun in hip hop battles. Personally, I think LL and/or BDK would have eaten him up for lunch lyrically but Hammer could always put on a show. And BTW, 357 was fine back there.
Hammer said he wasn't a rapper he was an entertainer. He got the crowd hype and dancing and that was his mission. The same ones that dissed him for being pop are the same ones that are now pop. 'LL and Bdk are pop. Shit nobody came at Run DMC for going rock and roll with a rock group. And the funny thing about it is that hammer is the most gangsta out of all the rappers you named. in real life hammer didn't play
This was my workout everyday. I would get off work, turn my TV on to BET and waited for this video so I could try to dance like the background. I probably looked like a mess, but I worked off 30 lbs dancing to this video. I thought Hammer was the man, he brought the moves!
A lot of the country loved this, we loved RUN-DMC but was tired of the east coast not giving respect so was necessary along with Turn this mutha out!!!!
As an old school hip hop rapper and pop locker, I would never have purchased an mc hammer record due to his weak rhyme skills. On the other hand, I used to record his videos onto vhs tapes and play them regularly due to his outstanding dancing and entertainment style. This was one of the videos I had, and I am so happy that this was uploaded to youtube. Peace to Hammer, from LJ.
There will never be a rapper that entertains like this. Truly, he should go in the music hall of fame. You cant even go to a club and dance now, everybody got a fitted cap on or they too dayum cool to dance. This was back when rap was actually entertaining and nobody died. Go Hammer Go!
I am a MC Hammer fanatic!! Gotta love this man for everything he put into entertaining us his way. I remember listening to his music and interviews on KPOO.
Oh how i wish i could go back to those days. The music, clothing styles, hair, everything was just on point at that time. Not to mention the fact that i was young. These videos have a way of keeping memories alive.
There are no rappers in the history of rap with his dancing skills and only 3 or 4 top selling entertainers in history that have the dancing skills of Mc Hammer. True entertainer!
The first concert I ever went to was the MC Hammer concert. My sister wanted to go and my mom took me along. I was only 3 at time but the crazy part is Hammer was so much of an entertainer, I remembered it. Not all the way but definitely remembered the shiny suits and million dancers.
It took me a whole year to learn how to do the running man in high school! Lol! I had old white women using oxygen tanks out hammering me! Thats when I knew GOD forgot to give a brother rhythm!
Back when your 'Hype Man' was as essential as the 'Front Man' and the group was about the group - pure friggin' dance energy. Thank you, CZcams. Respect - Jah Bless. D. (the 4th Letter)
Remember coming back from spring break 1989 in Texas and seeing this and saying damn it boy!!!!!! Was fresh really fresh and props to those folks in Converse,Tx who introduced this to me!!!!!!
People like to try and clown Hammer for losing money but they fail to realize why he went bankrupt. He was giving so many others the opportunity to share in his fame. Agreed

Tell it Tell it TELL IT!!!

They was killing it on the dancing
A lot of us couldn't appreciate Hammer when he was in his prime, but here almost 20 years later, I can appreciate how much of a beast he was back then...Hammer was killin' 'em!
Hammer had the cleanest moves out of everybody, like he really was the leader
THIS IS A DAMN WORK OUT!! Always love his energy! THO HAMMER!!
i can still do the roger rabbit...lol
This was the first song/video I ever saw from MC Hammer. Let's be honest guys, we never saw nothing like this before. He made the running man. Hammer was I'll with his. The last entertainer on stage.
What ?! "Never saw nothing like this before" ? "The last entertainer on stage" ?..
Never heard about *MICHAEL JACKSON* ???? -_-
+shizukagozen777 What I mean is the last entertainer who brought dancing and energy. I was referring to someone who came after Michael Jackson. Yeah, it makes sense. I understand now. :)

I know what you mean. I remember the first time I saw his video. It came on Yo! MTV Raps on a Saturday morning and after that Hammer blew the fuck up. It was new and fresh for us. We'd never seen anybody rapping and dancing like that.
MikeMicable me too it took me by surprise...a good surprise

🤣😂🤣😂
I remember the box lol
Im a rap music check me on 3rd bass and check me on CZcams and you will like 3rd bass and name is mc and im 3rd bass😀
I love his energy and those dancers were a force to be reckoned with!
THIS WAS IN THE DAYS WHEN HAMMER WAS ABOUT TO TAKE OVER THE MUSIC WORLD.
He wouldn’t sell his soul. And he took care of his team. The wrong combination for the corrupt industry unfortunately. They want people who are willing to do whatever whenever and however for fame, even a few sacrifices here and there. I hope Hammer is doing well these days. I respect him.
MC. Hammer was definitely an entertainer.
Those dance moves are still sick AF! I remember many an afternoon watching Rap City trying to catch my favorite rap videos to video record them. This is one of my favorites. Thank god for you tube!
Gotta give it to Hammer, he had swag back in the day.
Even Ice Cube addressed the fact that MC Hammer was HARD before he went POP. This song and video are seriously DOPE!!
I remember what Outkast said about Hammer..."If you think Hammer is a punk..run up on him and see what happen"
furiousstyles27 Yeah. I remember that interview too. I wasn't surprised.
BigDaddyRakim Redman has a hell of a story about Hammer sending people to kill him ...
I knew about the 3rd Bass beef but not about this one. Have to check it out.
People forget that Hammer was in the military before rapping. I'm quit sure he can get down.
Gotta love Hammer's energy.
OMG! Saw this video in LA in '88 when I visited my dad! They hadn't started playing him in Seattle yet! This is when I first heard of Hammer! Not gonna lie... taped his videos onto vhs and spent many hours learning all of his dances!!! Lol! Love it!
Terrible T was my favorite back up dancer. I'd spend most of the video watching her dance, lol.
Which one was Terrible T? I always focused on the shorter girl. Had a huge crush on her.
Yeah She Was The Best Dancer In The Posse
an Era when it was okay to dance at a party. it was okay to sweat (from dancing).
Not only was it ok to dance you better know the latest dance lol
Its hard to sit still with this on! LOUDER!!!!
Hardest first 30 seconds of dance you'll find. This was pure fire. Hate on Hammer for gettign caught up at the end, but it doesn't get much better than this. I couldn't even wipe the smile off my face the whole video. Straight fire.

When it comes to entertainment it's Michael Jackson, James Brown, Prince and Hammer
Ahem! Don't forget the MC DJ Flavor Flav!
This was MC Hammer. Before he became Hammer! Everybody was rocking them baggy pants & them patent lether shoes!
MC Hammer was dope I loved his videos. That brother could dance his butt off
I know I'm in my 40's now....but I can still do most of these dances...I do get winded though! Lol!
Me too!
Да
This first 30 secs of Ring Em still give me chills from my childhood!
You can't beat old school rap music!
Some so-called gangsters were trying to act like they weren't feeling this, but when they went to the club they got hype to this shit. Hammer was that dude back in the day and he deserves his props.
The way they all do the choreography differently but hit it just perfectly.. 🤯
I am glad to see that most of the comments about this song and Hammer are positive. When I first saw this video back in my early teens, I was blown away. Back in da day 1988! This was the flyest joint Hammer ever dropped. Brings back memories of high school in Anchorage, AK. Thanks for posting!
2023 this is legendary no one did it like HAMMER !

+le sigh Saw him concert that same year. Good ole days!
Hammer to us growing up in the late 80s and 90s was the equivalence of what James Brown was to 60s and 70s..... they were the masters of getting DOWN 💯!

A Lot of rappers owe a debt of gratitude to this brotha. Big Ups to HAMMER!!
I saw this when I was a kid, learned every step, and still no one else moves like hammer. solid. i wonder if he can still do this... i love that its not over produced, over costumed, etc.
Go Hammer, Go Hammer GOOOOOOOO! Love MC HAMMER, and this track is the Jam.
With Oaktown 357 dancing in back, this was on point
Back in the day, late 80s and early 90s, we danced hard like that at the club--men and women. We weren't concerned about sweating out our clothes or our hair, or ruining our makeup. We, as women, just wanted our lipstick and our earrings to stay on. We went just as hard as the fellas did. Sweat flying, folks backing up to give us room so they wouldn't get hit when we got loose. I still love listening to the one and only MC HAMMER. I had all his choreography along with 357 down packed. Good memories 😊
His whole operation was extremely phenomenal, out of this world!!!! 2021 thank you for your dedication and hard work true talent. 💝

@3:05 and 3:14-3:21, they went hard and killed it. I remember practicing these dances when it used to air on video soul and video vibrations. A classic video I can never get tired of watching.
Miss dancing in vids, when everyone was having fun...1988-92. Oaktown 357 and Hammer were nice at this shit!
The background dancers! Them girls was killin' it!
This was my workout everyday. I would get off work, turn my TV on to BET and waited for this video so I could try to dance like the background. I probably looked like a mess, but I worked off 30 lbs dancing to this video. I thought Hammer was the man, he brought the moves!
This hit never gets old!!
I don't care what anyone says, Too Big MC was the second-best hype man after Flava Flav
A lot of the country loved this, we loved RUN-DMC but was tired of the east coast not giving respect so was necessary along with Turn this mutha out!!!!
MC Hammer ruled!
Awwwww, when Rap was good.
And fun to dance to. Bring the music back from the 80's.
please dont hurt em Hammer!!!!! my high school days memories!!!!
Again folks forget all the joints he had before “U Can’t Touch This” Hammer has classics
at 2:02 that marching move was hype!!!
I always come back to this video! The beginning is still hard af 😂 2020 and I'm still here. I remember memorizing these routines as a child.
Class is now in session youngness!!
There will never be a rapper that entertains like this. Truly, he should go in the music hall of fame. You cant even go to a club and dance now, everybody got a fitted cap on or they too dayum cool to dance.
This was back when rap was actually entertaining and nobody died. Hell even LL Cool J used to dance his azz off in his videos. I feel sorry for the younger age groups, they will never understand how great it was to grow up in the late 80's and early 90's.
Go Hammer Go!
I am a MC Hammer fanatic!! Gotta love this man for everything he put into entertaining us his way. I remember listening to his music and interviews on KPOO.
God, I miss college.
Going to a MC Hammer concert makes you tired just watching him
Oh how i wish i could go back to those days. The music, clothing styles, hair, everything was just on point at that time. Not to mention the fact that i was young. These videos have a way of keeping memories alive.
Hammer was the ultimate dancing machine!!!! I admire him when I was little, was no shame in my game.
Still A Classic Song
The best dance moves, work it ,work it! I really like this video, one of my favorites from the 80's!
There are no rappers in the history of rap with his dancing skills and only 3 or 4 top selling entertainers in history that have the dancing skills of Mc Hammer. True entertainer!
He had the moves

The first concert I ever went to was the MC Hammer concert. My sister wanted to go and my mom took me along. I was only 3 at time but the crazy part is Hammer was so much of an entertainer, I remembered it. Not all the way but definitely remembered the shiny suits and million dancers.
It took me a whole year to learn how to do the running man in high school! Lol! I had old white women using oxygen tanks out hammering me! Thats when I knew GOD forgot to give a brother rhythm!
Kevin Lewls 😂😂😂😂 I needed that laugh
Back when your 'Hype Man' was as essential as the 'Front Man' and the group was about the group - pure friggin' dance energy. Thank you, CZcams.
Respect - Jah Bless. D. (the 4th Letter)
