The one man who probably deserved the Medal Of Honor, simply for his leadership above and beyond! And one who probably would have been our greatest general had he so chosen to make the military his career.

Dick Winters is a true American hero, along with all the men he served with. Americans owe a debt of gratitude for everyone who served in the war, when you see someone who is still living thank them for there service. Rest in peace, see you in heaven.

@Tyler Riggs that's cause celebrities don't really matter much outside of their fame and screentime, while Heroes like Dick here are few and far between in the world and have done something that benefitted all of us.

I've met a few WW2 veterans who were part of the Asia Pacific campaign and they all decided to live in rural places and remained in solace for the rest of their lives.

We owe these guys so so much and to hear their words today while we still can is most fortunate. We owe so much of what we have today because of them and the others in the past, then, WW1 and before. Their experience illustrates our century in close memory. I was born in Jan 45 so this war was always important to me, echoes for me as it was in the recent history in films, books, news, etc. My parents lived through the great depression which weighed heavily upon them and me, My father was born in 1907 so was somewhat old at the time for WW2 but he tried to enlist but had a heart murmur, so he worked in the Long Beach shipyard during the war where I was born. i served in the Navy during Vietnam.
These were tough nuggets to crack, not ordinary guys, believe me having endured boot camp myself(very minor comparatively ). They needed to be tough and proved themselves accordingly. They needed not only to believe they were better, but the best to endure what lay ahead. In the Battle of Bastogne, the Germans feared to attack them, the Eagle Heads as they were called. That speaks volumes, LOUDLY! We always need people like this in our front lines, ready to stand up to those that challenge our freedom. Listen America as if you never listened before as this is a call, a challenge to the best, the strongest, the bravest amongst us. Stand up and be counted.
