  • In this video I'm in Ortona, an Italian town in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo to visit the parish church of Saint Joseph. It is located in the San Giuseppe district south of Ortona. It was inaugurated on March 19, 1960 by the archbishop of Ortona Benigno Migliorini and was originally to be named after Pope Pius X. The church shows a linear and regular appearance, with reinforced concrete, bricks and glass for the windows. The stone-clad facade has a triple summit crowning with a triangular architrave with windows. A simple porch anticipates the entrance to the church. The single nave interior is very geometric with a rectangular layout. The presbytery, built according to the norms of the Second Vatican Council, is surmounted by a crucifix and a tabernacle supported by a marble column. Of particular interest is the group of 3 statues made up of St. Joseph, the Immaculate Madonna and St. Pius X. The turreted bell tower is separated from the church and has a concert of 3 bells. In the video we see the ascending plenum performed 30 minutes and 15 minutes before the mass (minute 3:13) and the nod mass with 20 touches of the large bell (minute 8:20).
    Bells notes:
    III - LAb4 slightly increasing
    II - DO4
    I - DO4 waning
    Good vision!
We recommend using headphones for more accurate listening.

A little bit dissonant but fresh as well.

Exact. Although the two big bells are dissonant they are still quite appreciable. The important thing is to appreciate the bell art for its function. Forgive me if english isn' t the best in correctness but I have given a foreign key to the videos also to involve other people in the sound of the Italian bells and in particular those from Abruzzo. Thank.

Ti ringrazio. Ho scelto questa musica perché le riprese le ho fatte durante il tempo di Natale e se noti ho ripreso anche il presepe.
