suggestion top ten English landmarks outside of London
Cameron Hutchinson better British outside london
I took a trip to London about a year ago. My residence was located right on the Thames, so everyday on my run I would run by many of these, such as the London Eye, the Globe, and London Dungeon. This video was a great throwback!
This is heaps appreciated! I just booked a flight to london and this is exactly what I needed. Thank you guys heaps, love all your videos :)
The view from the Shard is pretty cool.
Surprised the tube didn't make the list. Oldest underground rail network in the world.
I think the disclaimer 'Landmark' answers your question
I've lived in London for my entire life, and I've learned some things about here from this video!!
I was told to watch this at school and I feel happy that it's a channel I'm subscribed to for once
Wouldn't be WatchMojo without a few mispronunciations.
Am I the only one who found the music in the video funky? It made me laugh :)
i live about an hour north of london and Ive been to paris, munich, berlin and new york. london is by far my favourite city due to its rich history its a awesome list!
Great top 10! I lived in London for 5 months last year and I love that city. I missed, though, a reference to Shoreditch and Brick Lane - awesome places!
Welp, now you gotta do all the major world cities....
New York, Paris, Tokyo, etc.
im from london yay thanks watch mojo
Ya, I totally agree, excellent list. I love London and the last time I was there was 10 years ago, had never been before but can't wait to go back!
London appears to be one of the most intriguing places to visit. I hope I visit these locations one day.
Regent Street, Bond Street or Oxford Street and why no museums, I was just there and the museums were my favorites
Carnaby street should get a mention as well
Good list. Pleased to see that cultural landmarks prevailed over the likes of recent skyscrapers. I think I'd have put 10 Downing St in over the London Eye though.
Really enjoyed this video. I also see you have done other similar videos before could there be a series of top 10 City landmarks from different cities around the world??
I'll be traveling there in two weeks. Thanks Mojo!
Wow, a video about my city yay
Shard, Harrods, HMS Belfast, Millennium Dome, Thames itself, The Mall, Canary Wharf.
My class went on a trip to London a few weeks ago, we went everywhere on the list and it was wonderful
are you guys going to make more of these about capital city's? because this one was awsome!
I'm english born and bred, and miss London whenever I am not there. It's nice to see people pay attention to english cities and not focus their energy on what's further afield in places some people will never get the chance to see
Beautiful London :)
Greetings from Greater London. :) Like this list.
I love your list; I live in the UK and I try to visit London regularly.
I hate it how everyone has one stereotypical "british accent." There's lots of different accents in Britain. I have one of the many Scottish Accents which is also a british accent.
Greatest city in the world in my opinion, would have included The Blackfriar pub as at least an HM though!
Wow awesome video! I really hope I can visit London someday :)
Also what makes London a great place is how it has buildings/landmarks that are +100 years old along side some very modern buildings/landmarks as well as being a major business capital, and it works!
Not even an honourable mention for the Shard, 10 Downing Street or the Gherkin?
Well you can barely see 10 downing street as it's gated off. so it's hardly a landmark.
I think Kings Cross Station should have got a mention as it is now really well known around the globe thanks to Harry Potter!
They used St Pancras station in the films (for the exterior) because they didn't think King's Cross looked grand enough before its refurbishment.
***** That's a twentieth century myth
I visited many of these places while studying abroad in England 4 years ago!!
This is helpful as I am going to be on holiday in London tomorrow
The Shard and The Gherkin at least deserve honourable mentions?
To be fair, the Gherkin isn't really "visitable" for tourists. I agree though, the Shard should be in the top 5 at least!
Yeah
Ben Parker they are landmarks not tourist attractions plus i think the gherkin deserves 8
E N G L A N D !
Very Impressive List I Agree 1000%
Visited London June of 2013.
I'd love to go back one time.
Huh, I'm surprised the Gherkin didn't get an honourable mention. Even more surprised that I haven't seen anyone else comment on its absence on this list. :L
The gherkin isn't really a tourist attraction
softcat20 yeah but it looks like a gerkin
softcat20 "Top 10 London Landmarks", not "Top 10 London Tourist Attractions".
I always think of 28 days later when I see those iconic places from the movie. If I ever go there, i would like to visit those same places when no one is around. To get that sort of feel like the movie
That would be incredibly hard there are over 8 million people that are also visiting those landmarks.
Alexander Gavin
yeah i remember watching the movie commentary and they said that when they filmed, they filmed at the earliest, like 4am. they still need security to push people away from the camera view.
Wehay I saw Coventry City on the Piccadilly Circus screen, I never thought we'd get on a Watch mojo video
I've been to London on my summer break once!
Ello ello. My neck of the woods getting a shout out. Nice!
In the words of the great comedian Russell Peters - "I'm from Eeenglund. Aawwwwwhhh".
Is that Haruhi suzumiya?
TheJames208 No this is Patrick.
MegaSOSbrigade Well hello there Patrick.
MegaSOSbrigade Is this the Krusty Krab?
South bank? It's an iconic place in skateboarding history
Absolutely love London. Love this history, and West-End theater, which is second to only Broadway. I would live in London in a heartbeat.
Michael.
cool video, please do berlin, paris and rome too :)

Hitman spotted!!!!
Top right.
Lol
Ha
Toop
No 221B Baker Street?
I love London, I live about 2 hours away and only get to go about twice a year max but its amazing every time!
im 2 hours away ive went 3 times my whole life once at the main bits but im going tommorow so yeah
perfect timing as I'm going to London in 1 week
Yeah don't mind the council estates or anything.
Sometimes I hate being a Londoner and other times I love it!
Great video stop on !!!
More vids like this please
What about the Shard?
What about Tate Modern? What about The Shard? Come on guys. I get you like history but those are really impressive attraction to public.
I remember the shard, I remember finding that in my ActiveLearn book: exploring London
i've been there for the third time on 2014 nye..awesome city, I absolutely LOVE it
The Shard should have gotten an honourable mention. :c
I want to go!
u should come ;)
Ashik Gurung That's what she said.
dreason23 I believe there is a difference between want and should. "Want" is like desire and "should" is insist. If she desires, i just insisted. As a British citizen we welcome any curious tourists. :)
It was a joke. People say "That's what she said" when something can be interpreted into a sexual reference.
you will probably be disappointed its not as good as people over in America say it is. It has its problems and rough areas.
aww yea, London People represent!!!!
Yes this is wonderful
My must sees. Wembley, Emriates, Olympic Stadium, Stamford Bridge, Selhurst Park etc
I'm British and have been to London many times, but Big Ben really is not that great, in fact, my family and I pretty much walked straight past it without admiring it. In my opinion, my favourite things in London is the Shard (tallest building in Europe), it gives you an amazing 360 view of all of Central London and is just amazing! I also love the Candem Markets although they are not really a landmark. Anyway other than that nice choices :) #proudtobebritish
I am British too, and I think that there are a lot more landmarks in England overall that they haven't put on here. They should make a top 10 landmarks in the UK. #proudtobebritish
The Shard is the tallest building in the EU, not in the whole of Europe. There are taller buildings in Moscow.
oh sos :P Also I agree *****
Big Ben is the nickname of the bell, located in the Elizabeth tower. That is what you see when you walk through London, not Big Ben.
London is my favorite city in the world! I've only been there once but I felt so at home! And I love the praise that I sound like a true Englishman whenever I talk to anyone ^^
My parents went to London a few years ago, they enjoyed it very much. My mother liked Big Ben & The London Eye. :)
Being british I cannot comprehend just how wrong so many names have been mispronounced.
Now imagine how our non-English viewers feel when we pronounce words in foreign (i.e. non-English languages ;)
Yet,for a British person ,your English is not good.
+Grace Madejski His English is fine
+Grace Madejski his English is fine are you American?
No, British
Where's Diagon Alley?
Ella Feist Yes, I am.
If you want to see Diagon alley, J.K Rowling based it on a street in Exeter.
+James Clarke York pal
James Clarke In Watford is the actual set
love, love, love this city.
Top 10 Barcelona landmarks would be awesome!
Big Ben is one of the bells, the tower is now called The Tower of Queen Elizabeth II after her diamond jubly
....as stated in the video...
Luvly Jubly!
As an Arsenal fan, I will definitely return to this great city. I've been to some big cities, and London is probably my favourite so far, even though New York is also a fabulous place to visit.
A satellite view of London shows that it's blue mate, Chelsea rule London :P
I would highly recommend covent Garden and Camden town got some interesting culture stuff really
London is an amazing city. I would highly recommend living here.
Dear Mojo,
It's 2014. 480p just doesn't get it any longer. Come on, Mojo, step up your game!
Sincerely,
Just about everyone
The audio is what matters. And your "Just about everyone" holds 3 people.
30 St Mary Axe (The Gherkin)? The Shard? Nelson's Column? Canary Wharf?
The Shard is too young and not as iconic as the ones in a this list
The Kaled Doesn't matter. The tallest building in any city is considered to be a landmark for that city. It doesn't matter how old it is. It should have at least got an honorable mention.
dreason23
Bollocks. Tourists do not head to london to visit the shard.Canary wharf??! The Gherkin? Just a bunch of offices lol
They're still some of the most recognisable buildings in London.
dreason23
yet not worth being listed
There are so many more parts of london that arent even mentions, such an amazing city
yeah MI6 is a good one also i love Borough market full of Londoners, wealing and dealing
proud to live in London !
ImperialPepper Mint me to
WatchMojo doing a video about another country... This should be good.
this is great
The Gherkin looks awesome
Britain for the win! |Even if our government is idiotic.
That's why were called 'Great Britain'. We are fricking awesome!
Christos5120 I dont think scotland will leave.
joe sadler 'Great Britain' is called 'Great Britain' as to not be confused with the french peninsula 'Brittany' which is smaller. so basically by saying 'Great Britain' we mean 'LARGE Britain'
If you were an American and said "America for the win!", people would lose their shit.
Jake Harrington Ah yes they would. Especially British people (us).
I have lived in London for 21 years and have only been to 6 of the 10 attractions. I know I am terrible!
i'm moving there this september! woop XD
Been there once and will be there in 2 weeks, but not too many places can compare to SoCal (San Diego specifically).
welp.. this video has settled it.. Im taking my family to London at some point in life.
^_^
I did beat pokemon X but im over it after that. Its just not my game and way to hard to record on 3ds..
***** I also really enjoyed the British Music Experience.
Covent Garden?
the shard should be on this list because you can see for dozens of miles over 300m (over 1000f) around the city
Going to England in September and hopefully I can go to London again. Also forgot Kensington palace.
I stay in alot due to my lame ass city.. Id go out more if i lived there
Which city do you live in?
to actually live here is fucking boring , trust me
normally, you wont go out when you first get there, my family moved to alot bigger city and my mom expected to go out all the time, but you just never actually do it
RandomHelpingGuy
London Ontario Sucks!!! There is nothing to do!
Darknessrising4 I lived in England for two years, and I loved it there. It's usually all about the people you hang out with.
Odd order, I'd say. And Canary Wharf?
there are high risers everywhere in the world. People wouldnt come to see canary wharf mate!
No, fair point. But if you were in London I'd wanna see the tallest building more than the Albert Square.
Lol dude. I live in london and I find the neo classical buildings much interesring. Canary wharf is just a coeporate building where people work. :) just my opinion dude...
Fair shout, I guess you wouldn't go there to see it, but I go to London every now and then , and the first few times I always checked out Canary Wharf. But I get where you're coming from mate.
142doddy Sorry to tell that Albert square isn't actually in London, it's only a fictional site in the London based soap drama EastEnders. However there is an Albert square in Manchester.
the shard is awesome
the Shard is pretty cool to visit , one of the largest buildings in europe and is the only building that large of its unique shape
Why not do a top 10 English landmarks? There are other places in England that aren't London...
i agree this is a list of stereotypical English landmarks there are many better across the country, its not as if these are traditional either as we don't hold the old English tradition anymore
TheSharpgamingTV i agree, there are plenty more intresting and places to visit, but they have shown most of our most famous places.
yeah
No 221b Baker Street? Is there no love for Holmes here?
Don't forget John and Mrs Hudson!
+Monsieur McPherson Hate to break it to you, but there is no such place.
Kew Gardens and Richmond Park are a bit of a way out, but a great opportunity for some wildlife and nature!
I am from England and I approve of this Top 10. =)
