This is going to be helpful for me, living in New Zealand with a lot of native plants that don't have correspondences.
My only complaint - It's Mars not Ares.

I'm so glad this video is helpful for you!
Haha, that's a fair complaint - I only went by the name that the research article says, and it says "Ares (Mars)". I guess the researcher equated them, as many tend to do!

I have a question about your comment that magic is everywhere: which I agree with!
But in your video “there is no wrong way to practice witchcraft”, I feel like you contradict yourself a little bit. In the sense that you explained that if no way would be a wrong way (aside from the discriminating, appropriating and unsafe practices) that that could be possibly disrespectful to certain cultures or maybe witchcraft itself. And this video made it seem to me as if practicing is limitless and that is indeed no wrong way to practice.
Please tell me I’m wrong if I am! I’m really just beginning and trying to understand.
I find your videos the best ones I’ve seen so far. You’re so educated, eloquent, very open minded, inclusive and intersectional. I really really appreciate all the hard work you put into sharing with us!
So please, correct me or explain it further if you are up for that.
    Thank you! 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for coming to me and asking this question!
So the aim of this particular video is to highlight how the craft is your own personal journey. Witchcraft and any occult spirituality is rich with symbolism, and correspondences are symbolic associations of each material (plant, crystals, colours, etc). As witchcraft is a personal journey, what comes with that is your own personal symbolism - what certain things mean to *you*. The way *you* view the world (perceive plants, feelings towards them, associated meanings) is going to be individual and unique to you!
In my video describing no wrong ways to practice witchcraft, I outline that culturally appropriating in your craft is harmful to the cultures and marginalised groups from which you are appropriating from - which I think is what you're referring to.
Here, in this video, that still applies! But I find that in the process of introspection and finding out to you what /you/ personally associate with certain plants or other materials, you form personal connections that, of course, don't interfere with closed practices or other cultures, as you are deriving meaning and symbolism from your own experiences. I guess if you have experiences of cultural appropriation, then I would suggest taking steps to decolonise your witchcraft and reading literature from either the culture you currently relate to or researching open practices and see if that symbolism relates to you.
I hope that makes sense! Let me know if I can clear up anything further.

Hi there! As a non native English speaker I just wonder, what exactly 'correspondences' are! I first thought, it would be contacts you have with other witches to exchange information, herbs and seeds etc. But now I am left totally confused 🤭 Could you perhaps bring some light into this darkness? Thank you so much!

"Magickal correspondences" refer to the associated symbolism or "power" of the tool or ingredient. For example, love is a "correspondence" of Rose Quartz, or the plant Rose! It just refers to what the plant, herb, natural material is associated with, in terms of how we'd use it in our magick.

You mentioned posting the link to the resource you used for your article on the rings below, but I don't see it. Could you comment it here? I'd also love to see your article!
(Btw, the ad after this video started off saying "It's not magic, it's science", and I found that funny and wanted to share)

This is what I hate about modern witches. All these little girls playing at being occultists. This entire video shows their MO - make it up as they go along.
