I think it looks breezy and relaxed. Like you just took off all the armor after a long day of training your dragon and are now just having an ale at the travern 😂🎉
While I personally think this looks very great on you ❤ the answer to your question lies in the cut and size. The shirt your wearing is your size, it fits you perfectly and flatters your shape. However to achieve the light and summery breeze look you need a shirt that's either at least two sizes bigger than your actual size or something your size with an oversized cut/shape. And to make it feel like your straight out of a Raffaelo ad, it has to be white, and either unbuttoned in the front or tied in a slouchy knot in the front. What also helps create a more relaxed, summery look is the type of fabric of the shirt is made of. Yours is a tightly woven fine cotton, giving a more formal/structured look. A thin linen or a musselin type of fabric seems more relaxed, has a bit of natural texture to it. And if you want it to flow/fall really nicely, look for something made with Rayon or Viscose. All of these fabrics are also very soft on the skin and habe natural cooling properties compared to synthetics and even synthetic blends.
*for Americans who (as I was shocked to learn when I studied abroad in America) don't have Raffaellos (or ads for them), think the message of a 00s tampon commercial, but like, with the visuals of a designer perfume, or the fanciest type of chocolate i would also add that while viscose is great at that airy feel and my #1 fabric for breathability in heat, it is also *incredibly* floppy and holds no shape whatsoever, so you can very easily end up looking sloppy too. (a mix between viscose and cotton might be the answer to this, but i haven't seen many blends like that)
@@alissa6380we have Raffaellos, not as well known as Rochers but very much available. True I haven’t seen any ads specifically for them, though, but I haven’t watched many ads in well over a decade. But I’m in Oklahoma, not a big coastal city or anything, and even my Walmart has Raffaellos & has for as long as I can remember.
Ok so I totally love how supportive everyone is being… and also I’m here to say I absolutely, 100%, can’t believe it…. Agree with the sentiment. I have fallen for the con that is the long tunic in an effort to appear bohemian, cool, casual, “breezy” as you called it. Then I look in the mirror and feel like a Teletubby. Breaks my heart every time.
Condolence, I understand that struggle. It is in a way a tendency of body dysmorphia, & I have this moment quite frequently too. Not just by the shape of the clothes but also by the colours (like bright colours made me feel like Barney and friends) One thing that I learned through it is that my body looks bad in certain cuts of shape. So I invested a lot of time and efforts to find the right cuts that fits the criteria of cool, casual & breezy for me. Then I used that as sample to tailor more clothes for me to wear. It was my way of coping. I hope that you found yours 🌸
I went through like a decade long tunic and leggings era and REALLY thought I had cracked the code to looking cute but I never got asked when I was due more often in my life. I realized maybe it wasn’t the look I should be going for and stopped wearing tunics. Never was asked again when I’m due
I’m a fellow plus-sized lady. I have a hard time finding shirts that fit in my “supposed” size. I usually buy my shirts a size or two bigger than my pants size. And I opt for button down shirts worn open with a tank or shell underneath. Problem solved! That said, teletubbies are awesome.
Riddle me this batman... why can't you see that 'other people' see you as light and airy and breezy and approchable, and themselves as a dragon rider? You are stuck in your head! You're BEAUTIFUL stop it!!!
@@foresthobo1166 this right here just changed my whole outlook on appearance. Next time I look in the mirror and start to judge my appearance, I'll determine it to be a mirror problem and not a me problem 👌 perfection at it's finest 🦋
First off- you look totally gorgeous as is. The garment itself looks really stiff and I feel that kind of makes it look more armoryish. Steaming it and a few of your fun accessories would probably help get more of the look you seem to be looking for.
I agree completely!; Although- I do feel like a size or two up would’ve probably given that “breezy” oversized look, that she was going for / looking for.
As much as i appreciate the medieval support network in the comments, it's the fashionistas for me! You all really came through with the size color fabric styling hacks ❤❤❤
My husband likes to say my size and look(which I'm larger than you) reminds him of a bohemian princess. It was very stylish and only rich women could afford to be that size. I love his thoughts on that.
I love that thought too. I used to work in a historic palace with paintings on the ceiling (clouds, cherubs, that kind of thing) and all the women were voluptuous
That is actually very factual information. Back then? The larger you were, the richer you were and were seen as the true upper class All for one reason. They could afford food and not just once a day but 4 to 5 times a day, every day Including going to rich parties where there was enough food to feed an entire village for the entire day. But, only the rich got to experience that. The poor was skinny because they hardly ate and could only afford food for maybe once a day, IF that Most likely, enough food for 3 maybe 3 1/2 days. IF they could make it stretch. Which meant, they only went hungry for 3 1/2 days. Unless there were kids. Then Mom ate maybe 3 times a week. 4 if she pinches her pennies and forgo everything else. Including medical treatment. It was a different world then.
@@alricaneshama 3 day soup! 😂 There's a song about it from back then can't remember all the words but it's basically buying meat for the first day of the "soup" because it's basically still just water that had to be boiled anyway, with a little more flavor and nutrition. Then when you got paid the next day buying a potato to add, I think day three was a rutabaga or something we don't eat much anymore. Saw it in a book of songs during the colonial era, but a lot of people settling out west growing there own food did it to make the harvest stretch so they could sell more of it/make it last through the winter.
It looks nice on you! If you want a more breezy look, you have to go with 2 sizes too big and cinch it with a ponytail holder underneath at the waist or chest
I am loving it! Its not that you look that way, its you feel that way. And who doesn't want feel like they are going to fight a dragon! I am here for it.
As someone who loves the breezy vibe, I'd say your shirt currently fits you perfectly, but I'd size up about two sizes for more dramatic breezing action - also, seconding the commenter who mentioned going for linen instead of cotton/polyester :)
I used to wear my parents old shirts as "aprons" of sorts when baking, so when I saw your outfit it reminded me of baking cupcakes as a child. I love your interpretation even more though, especially in combination with my memories: Defending the cupcakes with all your strength and steel 😂😂😂💖💖💖

Just needs some wide leather 'braclets' 😏 to accessorize 😁

I agree with all this but I think she could get away with just adding a pretty fabric waist belt to this outfit
