Erling Haaland says it is time to "move on" from comments he made earlier this month in which he said Borussia Dortmund were pressuring him to make a decision over his future.
Haaland, who scored before going off injured in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Hoffenheim, has a contract with Dortmund until the summer of 2024, with a £64m release clause understood to come into effect this summer.
But earlier this month Haaland said Dortmund were "pressuring" him to make a decision over his future sooner rather than later. Manchester City are thought to be frontrunners for Haaland's signature should he decide to move to the Premier League.
Kaveh Solhekol and Dharmesh Sheth reacted to this interview as part of 'The Transfer Show' and gave their thoughts on where the Norwegian may end up in the summer.

I think the Dortmund board need their heads examining if they think that nobody’s gonna activate that release clause in the summer. Most top teams would pay three or four times that amount to begin negotiations.
They might aswell just accept that he’s gone & they have an extra 64m to spend. It’s inevitable & if they work in a top level team like Dortmund then they should already know this.

    • @exquisitelemonade3039

German clubs are weird, they have some kind of belief that the way the modern game operates doesn't apply to them. Look at Schalke, instead of getting money for these hot prospects they birthed they let their contracts run down and they left for nothing. Max Meyer didn't pan out but he was considered one to watch and they could have bitten someone's hand off. They let Goretzka go to Bayern out of contract. Kolasinac wasn't great but they could have got a healthy sum for him, but let his contract run down. They got money for Sané but they let even more contracts run down until eventually they were in the hole and got dumped out of the bundesliga last season with spectacular results.

    • @20KingofKings10

They and he knows he is leaving. But they need something on paper. It's a business. They have to plan. They cant just spend 60mio because he leaves 90%. What if he gets badly injured? Or for whatever reason he decides to stay. German clubs handle finances a lot better than others big clubs considering with how much less they have to work and they are not attractive for top players

I disagree that it’s quite as inevitable as you think. The release clause is only one part of it. There are going to be tens of millions that also need to be spent on agent fees. And with such a relatively low release clause, Haaland is going to ask for an incredibly high salary. And he is likely going to ask for either a shorter contract length or a contract with a high but meetable release clause (like $200m) so he could leave if he so chooses. Clubs may not want to meet those demands, especially this year, and so he very well may choose to stay in Germany another year. It doesn’t hurt him or his potential at all.

Either way Haaland would score more as Mbappe would play LW and would've to pass to Haaland unless he chooses to become a Benzema which I don't see him doing as he's a better finisher. So sad that people have to defend the truth or honesty these days.

There's no way Barca or Madrid will buy Haaland and give him a release clause of only 130m or 140m. ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE. After the Neymar fiasco, the absolute minimum release clause will be atleast 300m or as both Barca and Madrid have done for a while, keep it at 1 billion.
However, what is more likely is that Haaland goes to one of the big clubs for a 5 year contract and then after 4 years or maybe 5, he can move to another club whilst he will be entering the biggest peak of his career at 25-26. So yeah...
