    Such a weird review to me. The car has good looks, is way cheaper then others around it and has more features. The range on 1 charge is really good. The screen an absolute eyecatcher and compared to other brands, you dont have to get out of your seat to control it! Really the only downside to me is the lane departure warning system. This has to be turned off, because it is way to aggressive

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  Před 2 lety +4

      Have you used it? It is not cheap for the range you get. Not amazing charging. High consumption. Horrible infotainment system. Not a lot of power. It has decent space and drives ok.
      But for that price it is no match to many other cars on the market.

      I have, multiple times. And i have also driven An id3 and ev6. To me, a Marvel is better equipped (only if you pay way more at vw or kia it is the same)and has way better looks (that's everybodys personal opinion of course). Kia has better fastnet charging possibilities, but i would never drive to spain or italy so that doesn't matter to me.

    Im an owner with more then 5000km of use and it's true that the central screen is laggy. This review makes it a big deal. I don't think it'a a big deal. After a month of use you get used to. It's like using the touchpad of a macbook and then try to use one from Asus. The one from Asus looks laggy.... At the end, it works very well, the overall satisfaction with the car is VERY HIGH. High standards of confort compared with other EV SUV from other brands. Did a Roadtrip during 10 days of a total distance of 1500km. The consumptions In highway around 20kw/h, at local roads 16kw/h. So im extremely satisfied. For daily use (~50Km/day) you can use your domestic plug. Everything controlled from your mobile app. The value for money is HIGH. I recommend and i think this reviews is trying to tag the car to the old idea that everything from China has poor quality. It's wrong. I understand the pro-german car narrative, but it's not true.

      @@BatteryLife As i said. i did a 1500km roadtrip using the mg map and the only problem i faced was some outdated issues that i know that can be fixed (new map update is available). The screen is laggy, I admit, but not in a level to say it's the worst infotainment ever. I don't agree with that... Oh my god! there are hundreds of awful infotainments examples.... @frangrau3750 Před 10 měsíci +3

    Man, I agree with some of the other reviews. I've tested the car and this is not a professional review or anything close to it.
    I've seen some of your other reviews, and this one seems really biased, like you want the car to fail constantly. The best thing you have to say is "fine", when other cars do not have half of the features of this car for even 10K more.
    Most other reviewers praise the suspension of this car, the seats, and the options you have.... things that for you are not good enough. "The worst infotainment system" when you come from owning an ID.3, which is agreed on the industry to be the worst, hands down: could not do OTA, it rebooted while driving, way more laggy that this car, completely unfriendly and hard to find anything (come on, you cannot even connect to a WiFi without getting lost on the menus)... and the App? the MG app is orders of magnitude better than anything that VW has to offer.
    I am not sure why you did this review, but it would be more informative to compare to a similar priced car and see which one comes on top.
    Sorry, very disappointed. I think you should have a review system and follow that same system for all cars.

      @BatteryLife I'm sure that was not your intention, but looking at the reviews, you can see that the perception is odd.
      First units of any car can and will have glitches. This is something you need to weigh in when analyzing and relativize.

    @aleksandarsrdjenovic2487 Před rokem +26

    A very strange test, I would not agree with most of what was said, I tested the car yesterday and I can say that there is nothing better on the market for that money. And if I ordered Polestar 2, I'm a little sorry that it wasn't Marvel. The ride was very comfortable and the sound insulation was at a very high level. The quality of materials, equipment and the experience of luxury was very good, when we look at it (luxury with 180 hp) it is at the level of the initial prices of id.3 and e-megan... My only complaint is the trunk and that I expected it to have lower consumption, because it has good prediapositions because it is quite light for an EV and it is the only one on the test site next to the Taykan that has a gearbox...

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  Před rokem +2

      That is why it is called an opinion. You can have a different one. The car I tested was ok, not better than any other car. But the infotainment system was a horrible experience. They hopefully updated it.

      @@BatteryLife At work, I drive Kia esoul and id.3 every day, I don't feel that these cars have a better infotainment system, and they are in the same price range. In particular, I would like to add that the id.3 is the ugliest interior I've ever sat in, including cars from the eighties, somehow it's more like sitting in public transport than in a modern car, there's terrible cheap plastic everywhere, the screen in front of the driver looks like someone attached one of those first mobile phones with a touch screen, and the seat material looked like it was made of plastic bags. With Kia, the situation is somewhat better, but the overall impression is very cheap. Both cars are good to drive, but the Marvel is really two classes above in terms of driving experience. Noise isolation is at the level of Etron and BMW ix at Marvel. Plus, I would add that MG gives a 7-year warranty on the whole car, really for that money you can't do better and more, if we're being honest...

    strange that you are 180cm, I am 183cm and your head touches the roof but mine doesn't. I went to the showroom yesterday, and so many things you have problems with worked just fine with me. I don't know if it's the car for me (maybe a little too big from the outside) but it seems a much better car than you say it is. I feel you started the review determined NOT to like it. By now I've seen many CZcams reviews on this one, but only one besides you said it wasn't a real contender. All say the car has several flaws, but if you don't take into consideration that you get fantastic value for less money than other brands, you're not being fair in my mind. Keep in mind that in every day use you can get around many of the flaws any car has. For example: if it takes a few seconds for the car to start up, just press the start button before putting on the seatbelt, and when you did that the car will be ready. It is still something to mention, but it hardly is something that will hinder you if you're used to it. You can't expect a Rolls Royce for €50000.

    The Fastned (Alpitronic Charger) has 4 bays populated with a 75kW module each. The way these modules/power are distributed between the outlets depends on the configuration chosen by Fastned. If they chose 50/50 distribution or first in first serve. The first case give an even distribution between cars. Second case priorities the first car and give full power. In that case an EV6/Ionic5 can use all 4 modules and a second car has too wait. It’s hard to tell which config fastned has chosen. If possible don’t use the same stall as another car. You will always have the most power available if no one else are connected to the same Alpitronic charger.

    I agree with your verdict. Sadly, this MG is a marvel in name only. 😳 With the similar size VAG crossovers being expensive, there is a market for an affordable competitor. The Marvel has good specifications on paper including new dedicated EV platform with RWD. Unfortunately the execution is not up to the VAG standard. Maybe the BYD cars on their new EV platform with blade battery might provide affordable options. Otherwise, the smaller ID.3 seems like a good choice, considering that it is quite spacious inside, comfortable and surprisingly quiet and stable at highway speeds. 😎

    Great looking car, but sadly quite a few flaws, one thing that struck me was that the wheels look too small, would like to see bigger wheels on this, wonder what that would look like and if that affected the performance

      What is the thing with the wheels? Why those need to be 27" and profile 15? Last 20 y 15 and 16" was totally adequate size, but not anymore. Bigger wheels and lower profile: more noise, more wheel and rim damages, consumption increases, more expensive

      I have 21inch wheels on mine 🙂 looks really nice. 0-100 performance did not change, and my average consumption is 21kwh/100km, thats ok.

    You make the infotainment look horrible but is’t only you who can’t handle it. I’ve tried it out actually and it’s far FAR from that horrible that you make it look actually. So in future learn the car before showing it off
