- in this video we finish harvesting our wheat and barley for crimp, the combine lifted a stone and jammed the header and also later on bent a finger and broke a section. on the 3rd day the barley was coming in at 18% which is way to dry so we started to add water to the barley as we rolled it and by evening the moisture had gone down to 16% at which point we started putting it into the shed dry. we also had some issues with the mill in the last field as the green grains of wheat were turning to goo in the mill and causing it to clog up, other than that it was a clean run all the straw balled and crops yielded well but the straw yield was poor.

Hi, Phil! I like the longer videos. You know, I think that the bird-scarer you have going in the yard could have been sabotaged by the crows and pigeons.
What they've done is cut the wires and installed a bypass switch. When they see you coming, they turn it on and everything sounds fine.
But as soon as you're back in the fields they're shutting it off and calling in their mates on Twitter. While you're busy harvesting they're feeding away on all that barley... ;-)

What is the use of a crimper?
The crimper crushes the grain enabling animals to digest it, otherwise it would just pass straight through them.They will probably mix it with silage etc in a feeder wagon.

I would wreck that tractor if I was driving it and something with 8 legs crawled out of one of those webs.
