  • Using weedless lures at night for Bass -
In this video I head out at night in the search of bass on the lures.
Night fishing for bass using lures can been extremely productive and great fun.
The lures & techniques used in this video are ideal for beginners that are looking to fish using lures for bass at night.
My good friend Mick owner of my local tackle shop Mr Fish had just had some new lures produced that he would have liked some feedback on.
So I thought I would rig the new lures up on some different jig heads and weedless hooks and go give them a try.
These lures are very similar to the Evo bass lures which are proving to be absolutely deadly for bass at the moment.
With high demand from his customers that we’re struggling to find any Evo bass lures in stock he had these made up.
The paddle tails on these lures are slightly softer in comparison and offer a great rolling action.

bass generally hit twice, first time they stun the prey, second they swallow so if you get a hit, dont strike, keep reeling as you were and then they will Mullah it.

Really interesting seeing the underwater footage, I think the straight worm.looks better than the paddle but we sell a lot more paddles than straights, I think anglers just feel more confident feeling the lure doing something

The underwater footage certainly helps me that’s for sure.
When watching it back it’s interesting how much of an affect a slight twitch or pause can have on the lures movement.
Well done on designing these I really enjoyed using them matey… and catching on them too.
I’m sure lots of other lure anglers, novices and veterans of the lure fishing community will enjoy using these micks stix!
I’m excited to see what other designs you might be planning!

Those evobass sabre 130 are brilliant at night had loads of fish on them 👍👍

These aren’t the 130 sabres matey but they are very very similar.
My local tackle shop was in high demand for the sabres but due to low stock from the supplier he couldn’t get them on the shelves so he had these made up.
      Pretty much the same though.

What makes these different to the evovbass lures? Seem like a carbon copy?

Mick's stix are slightly smaller and I think they use ground glass instead of salt in the mix which gives a slower sink rate 👍

    • @FISHISLANDTV
      @FISHISLANDTV  Před 2 lety +3

Mr Fish could not get the Wave worms after trying to get orders from them for the past 10 years, so he gave up and designed his own… well a very similar one.
Then the EvoBass is also a copy but they have changed certain things they made the shank of the tail thicker to help stop the paddle from spinning, they made the mid-section softer so the body swims better, and they replaced the salt with crushed glass powder so it sinks better and doesnt rust the hooks.
      Hope that helps bud
