aurangzeb and shivaji did go along pretty well untill aurangzeb decided to insult shivaji by making him stand with 5000 rank soldiers which made him furious, shivajis father worked for mughal, shivaji worked for mughals as well in the invasion of bijapur and even asked for jaagir, moreover shivajis son was killed by aurangzeb and shivajis grandson was brought up by aurangzeb as well, not many people know this.

I find it surprising that nobody gives credit to Sher Shah Suri when talking about the glory Mughals would achieve. The Mughals were able to achieve greatness because of the revenue collection system put in place by Shershah. Shershah was a visionary, in addition to his investments in civic projects like the Grand Trunk road, also put in place a very fair and efficient tax collection system, which was subsequently utilized by the Mughals to achieve greatness. Another what if of history, had Shershah lived, we will never know.
