【SILENT DOCUMENTARY】Duo hiking Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites | Propose on the trail

【ABOUT THIS HIKE】
In August 2023, we hiked one of the most well-known long-distance trails Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites in 8 days.
Our trip started from Innsbruck on Day 1 early morning. After 2.5 hours on the railway and a 25-minute bus ride, we arrived at the Lago di Braies - the trailhead.
We spent 6 nights staying at Refugios while camped out only once on Day 2 by the Lago di Lagazuoi. A number of awards go to Refugios where we had stayed as below:
The Best View: Refugio Scoiattoli
The Most Warmhearted: Refugio Vazzoler
The Cosiest: Refugio San Sebastiano
The Lowest Cost-Performance: Refugio passo Staulanza
There were 2 decisions we made regarding the safety.
A washed-out hampered us from completing the rest of the way to Refugio San Sebastiano from Refugio Vezzoler on Day 6, despite we found out many others we met at the Sebastiano Refugio later that day managed to cross it. It was truly a bummer but we're happy with this decision. Alternatively, we hiked all the way down to the bottom and treated ourselves to a nice grill and spent 85€ asking the owner of Rifugio Capanna Trieste to drive us to the Refugio San Sebastiano.
It should be noted that we took the advice from the owner of the Refugio San Sebastiano to hike the next day to the Refugio Pian de Fontana through an alternative shortcut which is pretty wild and almost got us killed. So I would recommend only sticking to the official route if you're planning to do this hike or any other hikes. We massively regret this inconsiderate decision we made.
