Greetings from the US. Fortunately for us, we still have the pleasure of seeing Pam St Clement on TV since most US stations are like 8 years behind in episodes. Pat and her earrings are very popular here.
Really happy for Pam she deserved it. I miss Pat on the show she brought warmth and familiarity to the show and EastEnders hasn't been the same since her death.
This is where UK Soaps are still on the air and US Soaps aren't. They always have Storylines for Older Folks which I think is great. When you reach your 40's or 50's, it's pretty much over for you.
This lady was 100-million % gorgeous in every way and why so many male admirers and fans adored her so - very few men actually fantasize over the lampost varieties. Her PERSONALITY ENORMOUS and her well-spoken voice far too much an assett, she could have been anything she wanted to be!. Love her totally. and was way too smart for her role as Pat B in Eastenders.
When I look at their Scenes, it reminds me of Stephanie Forrester and Sally Spectra on The Bold & The Beautiful. They were both Fashion Mavens, whose Children married and divorced each other many times over yet they managed to make peace and become Friends. Sadly enough Darlene is no longer with us.
she obviously enjoyed hamming it up in that role as shes totally different in real life! Some soap "stars" are just playin minor variations on themselves
I still think it should have been Nick Berry doing the honors. Simon Wicks character defined who and what Pat is in EastEnders more then anything else.
