It's nice to know that MGEX wasn't just a one-off. Not too interested in the Strike Freedom but i'm happy for those who are hyped. I'm just wondering what else could even be made as an MGEX, aside from the Banshee and Phenex from the Unicorn kit. I'd like to see an Akatsuki since we have no MG of that. Sadly i get the distinct feeling MGEX will just be protag MS like RGs.

I'm hopeful for an Akatsuki as well. I have a feeling we'll get a MGEX Infinite Justice or Destiny (specifically Destiny sine we got the two special editions of SF and Destiny when the old MGs came out). But the Akatsuki is probably my favorite design from GSD. Hell I'd be happy to get one based off of the MG Strike Remastered or MG Freedom 2.0/MG Eclipse.
stunningly beautiful , strike freedom has always been my fav design , because it is the only main gundam that is perfectly symmetrical

No price tag listed yet, leaves me somewhat suspicious. Usually that's unveiled with the release info. 15,000 yen would be reasonable for this, but I have a feeling it's going to be closer to 20,000.
It's gonna be 25.000. Coating is one of the most expensive feature of Bandai. We all remember the ridiculous price tag of the PG Phenex (44.000 yens instead of the 22.000 yen classic Unicorn). It really sucks beacause if you can paint, the coating is totally useless. I'm more into other features.
@@Nicowblast yeah but most of the frame isn't coated and the mgex unicorn included a led unit so this mgex shouldn't be that expensive

Just my opinion. I doubt it will be chrome plating like phenex. Because it will make plastic thicker with layers of clear coating, specially for parts of inner frame. I assume just normal coating like hyaku shiki ver 2.0
@@epsilon13th39 nah if u can see in the images its more shiny than the hyaku shiki so its gonna be premium but not premium like the phenex.
I hope they have some other gimmicks besides the amazing gold coating because most of it will be hidden but regardless this will be gorgeous on the shelf. Maybe this might also open up the possibility of a Destiny MGEX or 2.0!
If this thing comes with the wings of light and a way to display the dragoons, I’m all in. If not, I’ll just stick with my full burst MG.
I doubt it. Unicorn didnt came with all the full armor bits, but it is compatible with the older release accessories so you might have some hope
MGEX have better design and details though, it practically 2.0.
And its gonna cost 25.000 bucks

glad to see you're excited for this one. I'm seeing mixed reactions on this and cant tell why that is, just seeing that frame picture was enough for me to makeup my mind.
Because it will be uber-expensive like the MGEX Unicorn, almost like a PG price in a single MG kit.

The chest cargo area, cows, missiles, weapons.
The core fighter with all the articulating wings and cockpit canopy.
The steering vanes on the back of the legs. Just everything has articulation to the point that the Turn A is almost techno-organic.

The issue is that, the Unicorn has a PG kit, and doesn't the SF?
As a personal opinion, these seem to be based on PGs, so I don't think we'll see any other suits that don't have PGs getting this treatment.

I mean it seems a weird way to go for the mgex. "we added multitone coloring" isn't a selling point for the hobby because well, we can just paint it. You might respond with what if they did it for you in which case, would i pay another 100 for detail i could've done myself. Just like unicorn, i need more than this for me to say its worth the price. The unicorn was easier to swallow though, the LEDs are expensive and would be hard to do on your own. This is literally just 4 toned gold paint. i have like 9 tones sitting across the room from me, it needs more to sell me on if its gunna be 250

As soon as this kit goes live I am getting one. Was going to use my tax return to pickup the PGU or the PG Banshee Norn, but yeah, this kit is more impressive to me. Hoping we get a release date and possibly a pre order link.

I knew a new Strike Freedom was coming, because a few months ago, or last month, they released a silhouette of what looked like a strike freedom, along with other kits they're coming out with.
Strike Freedom 2.0 was my first kit, and to see a MGEX kit, now that is awesome. If it's less than $200; it's an instant buy for me. I need to know the release date though, this is one of those kits that will be gone in an instant. If we get a pre-order date or something, that'd be ideal.
Just waiting for them to release the wings of light effect parts along with action base, and we're "golden".

Completely agree with you about the price hike. This is a way for Bandai to make the availability of the kits and fan base more specialized. More expensive, less glut. Letting the scalpers grab them and go broke.😛
I am glad we are finally getting a 2.0 of this. I figured they were eventually doing it for this and the Infinite Justice.
So here is to the Infinite Justice 2.0 and hopefully an MG Legend.
Nice to see bandai stepping up with this. Although there's still a lot people hating on this move and probably questioning why this kit. Regardless i'm happy and i'm getting one. Hope that they do like similar thing to lets say a hyper god gundam with the variety of gold, though not like this but similar just a bit lower than this
Hopefully there isn't as much plastic as there was with the MGEX Unicorn. That should set the price a little lower.

I bought my unicorn MGEX on amazon this Christmas at 160€ ! Sooo glad so fun to build but the led was a pain in the B.
It's really a shame to put the armor on, I totally agree, it's a 1/100 Perfect Grade... I really have to pick this up... I was going to wait and not pre-order it (just because the MGEX Unicorn isn't hard to find today), until this one was reviewed but I don't think I can wait... with the actual release time frame being so close we should be getting the full release announcement really soon, which will give us the price... that's only the only part I'm kinda worried about, because I think with the way prices have been rising the MGEX Strike Freedom is going to be more than the MGEX Unicorn, especially if you pick it up locally (in Canada, for myself) or factor in shipping from Japan...

Strike Freedom used to be my favorite because of Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2. I prefer the OG Freedom as of now. But damn, this actually made me want to buy at least the RG of SF.
Well it's good for anyone who was waiting for a newer MG Strike Freedom. As for me, still waiting on that Exia 2.0 or any MG IBO kit. This kit looks cool for sure but I was never a huge fan of the design of the Freedoms. Now a MGEX Infinite Justice...

Fully agree 2S. I love the Gundam Unicorn OVA/TV series much more than Gundam Seed Destiny; even the nostalgia factor for me doesn't push it past unicorn. I passed on the MGEX Unicorn because it was cool but like, the RG Unicorn is a great kit and I already had it so eh. But I was loosing it when I first saw the MGEX SF. For sure ordering one!
Sf freedom got 3rd in the gundam poll 4 a reason. Problem with unicorn mgex was people were sick of it and variants, and the suit and the series aint that popular. Plus leds probably may need batter change. This doesnt

I’ve already laid my hands on the Freedom 2.0 and it seems better than the Strike Freedom. I get that it’s supposed to be a better mobile suit, but I still think that the Freedom is better. That doesn’t stop me from wanting it. I hope it doesn’t have a steep of a price point as the Unicorn
Well Strike freedom is better in every way to the freedom. Now if you like the look of the freedom more that's different.

tbh I only ever built the old MG to round off my gundam seed collection; skipped the PG because I heard of the horrible weight issues; the RG had early RG syndrome, and the HG wasn’t even on my radar to begin with…

As a business perspective it's less profitable to keep up with the amount of detail that some of the older, or even PG kits have.
So I don't mind the fact that MGs have less detail, because they're objective is to make profit, which sucks as a fan.
Also, I'm waiting for something more worth my money to buy MGEX

All this gold, they can make an MG Akatsuki. Which they should btw. Very soon.
Im not rly a fan of Seed, but I'm a huge fan of the suits from it, the Strike Freedom being the pick of the bunch to my tastes. I've held off for YEARS hoping for a 2.0 on the level of the Freedom, but this is even better. Holy crap. There's no way Bandai doesn't release a clear armor add on like they did for the PG Unleashed. I don't really care about that kinda stuff but no doubt others are and I'm sure Bandai would be happy to sell it
I wonder on the pricing. Considering the Unicorn came with a huge array of accessories and I imagine this won't, I'd like to see this cost a little less than the Unicorn did.
Edit: the Unicorn did come with waterslides. A fuck load of them. Took me weeks to apply them all. Ver Ka kits always come with them. No way Strike freedom here doesn't come with waterslides at it's price point

What's up with 5 different gold color plates. They are not even showing. It's all covered under armor plates.
With all this gold plating and the led in the head that it looks like it might have ,then they are going to charge $300 for it easy i hate the fact that the over charge for plated plastic !

Might be an unpopular opinion, but this is such a bummer. Never been a fan of the Strike Freedom, it's just trying too hard imo. I will say that I'm hyped for fans of this suit, just as I would be if it was a Stardust Memory or Zeta kit.

No way I’m paying $250 for this, Unicorn went on sale for $180 at the end of the year when I picked it up. I could definitely see $125. They want to put LEDs in even if just in the body, then maybe $175 at launch.

I'm huge fan of Strike Freedom but knowing Bandai suck at gold colored MS I will wait until some gundamtuber make a review of this kit to make sure it's worthy or not.
nope this time around to combat the cost they're going to release just the frame and charge you $150 for thatthen they release the armor bits is a premium Bandai only thingalong with some lighting and then charge you $200 for thatand then they release a stand along with some water slides for another $50 🤣🤣🤣 but for real I think this kit is much better looking than the Unicorn and let's just hope it's better priced especially what they did with the rx78 Unleashed That was a way better kit and a fraction of the price of the Unicorn

Zaku warrior is very good design imo, the freedom 2.0 is amazing but i prefer the fm100 more
I don't get the hype for this one. The Unicorn was cool because it has some new tech to enable easy lighting and movable joints with wires inside. This Strike Freedom just has a bunch of different gold colored parts. Not every impressive.
I'm pretty sure no one wants to buy mgex unicorn because they prefer the perfectibility at this point

Disagree right there. As a fan of the basic SF design, the old MG had the oomph by representing the anime SF properly without crazy stylization. This MGEX is just like the MB SF: crazy stylization that stray further from the basic SF design. Although with how stylized MG Zaku Warriors are, this is to be expected. All these heavily-stylized MGs made me appreciate my old SEED/Destiny NGs & MGs a lot more for the more faithful anime design.
As long as it looks good.
Anime designs anyway are hold back by taking in mind that people had to draw it a shit tons of times.
The Xi and Penelope had to cgi them even in movie budget.
I mean... I'm glad for those who want the Strike Freedom... but I honestly couldn't care less. I forced myself to watch this.

Just my opinion can Bandai research other mobile suits. The strike freedom is kinda getting boring.
While I love most gundams , but I'm so down for the perfect strike freedom.
