âIâll come for you before youâre taken by paradiseâ such a chilling line.
Its such an amazing contrast.
On one hand you have the word paradise, symbolising the world beyond human comprehension where only the good are and nothing bad happens. Yet, with the tone of the black man's voice and the fact that he says he is going to come for her before she is taken sounds like he is saving her from paradise, implying paradise to be a villain or demon coming to take your soul away from the earth
Goddamn I love anime
@@Visibletoallusers12 I think the simple word "by" does a lot to make this line chilling, rather than saying "to paradise" the use of "by" personifies paradise, giving it intent and the ability to act. Great use of language.

This was a different type of crying for me. This one hit home. Dementia resonates with everyone and we all have grandmas we love and lose. We all grew to love Pioran after a cold start as she developed as a character and ended up teaching Fushi many things and passed on much wisdom on how to live life. The happy silver lining is she went out on her own terms no nokker no hayase just a death as is suppose to be. I am looking forward to her return.
Yeah this hit me harder because I can relate my grandmother currently has dementia and alzheimers so this hit too close to home prolly the best episode for me imo
The way she had fushi âfetchâ something so she could pass on was really emotional for me.
My grandpa did the same to me, told us to go get something to eat, while we were waiting for our food he told my grandma he wanted to go to mom, then he let go.
Appreciate your grandparents while you can.
Major spoiler below
When she returns she will be horsing around alot
Was that really dementia? I thought it was fake in an attempt to push Fushi away. Like she felt like dead weight to him and wanted him to continue his journey without her. It's kind of like the stray puppy that won't stop following you so you scare it away for its own good or w/e. I couldn't tell if it was actually dementia or a ploy by her.
But yeah I could be wrong, she was in her 90s haha

So sorry you had to go through that. I feel for you đ
During an interview, Yoshitoki (the author) said she came up with the name once she learned her grandma may die (she was ill). Anyway, hence one of the reasons this work reflects so much about the ideas of life and death.
I was crying during half of the episode already knowing what would happen and seeing Pioran like that didn't help at all. As a nurse, and sometimes contacting with elderly patients who have all sort of mental diseases or some kind of disability it hits differently. Reminds me of some of my patients.
I've met many elderly people and my family and it always pains me to see their mind deteriorate until they become someone they're not. I respect them all.
