- As part of our #OurHouseToYourHouse Masterclass series, Royal Opera Jette Parker Young Artist Filipe Manu is coached through arias from Rossini's The Barber of Seville (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and Così fan tutte by Music Director Antonio Pappano.
This session sees Filipe rehearse 'Ecco ridente in cielo' from The Barber of Seville and 'Tradito, schernito' from Così fan tutte, accompanied by pianist Mark Packwood.
The Jette Parker Young Artist programme supports the artistic development of talented singers at the beginning of their careers. Young Artists are employed as salaried members of The Royal Opera and immersed in the life of the Royal Opera House over a two-year period.
The specially-tailored programme includes extensive daily coaching in languages, stagecraft and vocal techniques, alongside training for cover roles, performing in concerts and for smaller roles on the main stage.
The Jette Parker Young Artists Programme is generously supported by Oak Foundation.

Sir Pappano, you are the BEST!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sir Antonio.
Sir Antonio Pappano is a great maestro , Filipe Manu what a beautiful bel canto voice , a joy to hear !!!
Wow! I wish I had him as a musical technique coach! The transformation from song to story with heartfelt emotion was drawn out magnificently. Filipe was marvelous, taking each improvement and bringing a living soul to the aria.
Thank you for showing these, Royal Opera House!
I love Filipe's voice, such a beautiful tone.
My goodness ! This is fascinating ! So much goes into opera singing. You cannot be detached from it. It's a whole feelings thing. I am learning that your tongue must roll with the feelings. The message. Wow ! 😍😍
😊 I love the instructor. He’s so sweet and charming.
It is very refreshing to see a voice teacher who isn't themselves a singer, yet distinctly knows what they're doing! And encouraging variation and improvisation! How wonderful. 😊☺️ You are a wonderful public service to Britain and the World 🌍💕
Pappano is a pianist and orchestra conductor, he is not a singer, but in addition to knowing and having directed a lot of opera repertoire, as well as the symphonic one, he is the son of a singer and singing teacher, he knows many things about singing technique for that .
The back and forth, the give and take, the depth of the music and the expression, it's a joy to watch.
“I think you need to invent something, like ti aaaahhh ta tata tiii”
And does exactly Florez’s variation. This man really loves him 😂
Absolutely magnificent!!
Bravo! Fantastic Pappano! Compliments to the pianist and last but not least to Filipe!
An awe inspiring masterclass, thank you for educating me in this wonderful art.
Incredible!!! Love this guy!
I truly can’t wait :)
What a joy to hear such an inspiring masterclass. Thanks for sharing!
Stupendous!!
Corona e quarantena erano in una situazione difficile, ma è stata una grande benedizione conoscere il lavoro meravigliosamente artistico e prezioso del Maestro Pappano alla Royal Opera House. Grazie mille ☺️
Magical!!!! Great representation of the Pacific Islanders communities. All the best in everything!!!
Fantastic !!!
Thank you so much!!!!
Que profesional Pappano! Que enriquecedor escucharlo!
This is amazing. This shows the hard work, the craft and passion needed. Thank you for showing this. Wonderful.
Like it or not the guy definitively knows the voice!!

Love from India ❤️
Filipie Manu ❤
Love Filipe voice 🥰 simply amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Love from Turkey
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Filipe. He has one of the prettyest versions of Rodelinda's Pastorello. He has a beautiful voice y he is also very fun and musical. However...he needs to work on technique. He couldn't do basic passages of the Ecco ridente. Y would expect a more developed student in royal opera studio.
masterclass it is
The sliding music stand.... I feel your pain
Pappano is a genius.
He should be an actor in Hollywood
#DCFTB proud as toko

Un peu engorger quand même !!! Et pas assez accroché ... mais Jolie voix et bogosse 💜 et Mozart lui va bien 🤙🏿
Mr. Pappano And Filipe Look at The Various performances of Juan Diego Flórez as an example to sing Rossini in The right Style 🎵🎵🎵
Tu dois travailler sur souplesse et non sur la force !!!!
I think there are a lot of technique misconceptions from both of them... And THAT was not a terrific high c. Even if it is an eleven o'clock high c.
Very nasale
He is a disgusting victim
This guy sounds like a Florez clone. That’s not a good thing.
So nasal... 😣
Like Florez hes a lyric tenor....and hes on a scholarship so hes learning. I watched Joyce Didonato taking a master class at Juilliard and she made the comment how brave it was for the participants to take part
@@michaelewens6441 Florez and Di Donato, two bad singers destroying young voices.
@@celibidache1000 from the acclaim and recognition that these two have achieved in their fields i would suggest you have NO FUCKING IDEA.I watched a class that Di Donato did with Jakub Josef Orlinski where she spent most of the time working on his breathing....but of course in your opinion he cant sing either
@michael ewens You’re the one who has no idea. They are so nasal it hurts my ears.
Another nasal tenor with knödel and no chest voice, coached by a conductor who wants singers to whisper and speak.
Your classifications ???????????????????????
I mean qualifications ?????????????????
@@michaelewens6441 what about them?
@@celibidache1000 your qualifications to make such criticism
@@michaelewens6441 where are your qualifications to know whether my criticism is correct or not?
