  • WHAT HAPPENED WHEN 381 PEOPLE TRIED SAW PALMETTO FOR HAIR LOSS - SEE THE SHOCKING RESULTS?
381 people took saw palmetto, and this is what happened. Hi, my name is William Gaunitz, and I'm the CEO and founder of Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology Products. I'm a fellow with the World Trichology Society, and I've been helping people regrow hair for over 21 years. Now, I get this question all the time: does saw palmetto help with hair loss? And realistically, when you look at saw palmetto, you have seen it being utilized for hair loss, benign prostate hyperplasia, and hormone balancing for many years, but does it actually work?
In this case, we're looking at 381 people who actually took saw palmetto; this group was made up of both men and women. There were five clinical trials, and two studies showed that saw palmetto, used internally and externally, ranging from 100 milligrams to 360 milligrams, actually had a positive effect on androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium.
The results included 60% better hair quality, 27% more hair, increased hair density in 83.3% of the people who used it, and a more stabilized condition by 52%, which represented overall less shedding. This was for both androgenetic alopecia, otherwise known as male and female pattern hair loss, and telogen effluvium.
This concludes that saw palmetto is a very powerful adjunct to any treatment scenario that includes androgenetic alopecia or telogen effluvium. My recommendation for saw palmetto for hair loss is actually the Advanced Trichology DHT Blocker with Immune Support, and I've been utilizing that in my clinics for over 15 years.
This product not only has saw palmetto but it also has green tea, stinging nettle, pygeum, and immune support. Collectively, if you are looking for a supplement, that is my recommendation. When looking at the overall strategy for treating your hair loss, you need to understand the underlying condition.
If you have questions on this or anything hair-loss-related, go ahead and leave it in the comments. If you like content like this, please go ahead and subscribe to this channel, and I'm happy to help in any way."

I experience this 3 months after having all our babies. We have 5 children. After every pregnancy I have postpartum alopecia. I am positive it’s the dht causing weak hair follicles. I get ready to be bald every time I feel my scalp being tender. When I brush my hair in a different direction it hurts and shortly after my hair starts to fall out. Our last daughter just turned 2yrs old and I’m yet again on the journey of hair growth. I’m just trying to get on a routine and grow my hair back like it was before I started to have children.

A hairdresser years back said i have fine hair but lots of it.
My problem is lack of volume,it doesn't grow hasn't done for years and i think it's getting thinner where i part it(middle parting).it sheds alot and breaks.
I'm currently going through menopause and it seems to be shedding more.
I have quite a healthy diet with a good amount of protein.
I did have a frizz problem which is a bit better since starting wearing a sleeping bonnet.
I'm using semi permanent colour at the moment so wash my hair with cold water once a week with herbal essences and use frizz ease, only use dryer, straighteners that one time.use argan oil twice a week.

      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  Před 5 měsíci +4

Great question... if you were losing hair exclusively from the top of the head or more so from the top of the head that is most likely due to a androgen hormone imbalance. If you are losing hair from the sides or the back of the scalp it is most likely due to a vitamin deficiency. Vitamin deficiency will impact the top of the head as well but if you notice the loss on the sides then you can typically confirm that it's nutritional.

Not necessarily. Finasteride is a DHT blocker, but it’s pharmaceutical and blocks DHT systemically. That's great to hear that you're experiencing some positive effects from taking Saw Palmetto! Saw Palmetto is a popular natural supplement for supporting hair health, particularly in addressing androgenic alopecia (pattern hair loss). Here are a few key points to consider:
      Benefits of Saw Palmetto:
DHT Inhibition: Saw Palmetto is believed to inhibit the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to hair loss.
Improved Hair Quality: Many users report improved hair texture, reduced shedding, and increased hair density.
      What to Expect:
Consistency is Key: Natural supplements like Saw Palmetto often require several months of consistent use to observe significant results.
Complementary Treatments: Combining Saw Palmetto with other hair health practices, such as a balanced diet, proper scalp care, and potentially other supplements (like biotin), can enhance results.
Monitor Progress: Keep track of your hair growth and shedding patterns. It can be helpful to take photos to visually document any changes over time.
      Additional Considerations:
Dosage: Ensure you're taking the appropriate dosage as recommended by the supplement manufacturer or your healthcare provider.
Side Effects: While Saw Palmetto is generally well-tolerated, some people may experience mild side effects like stomach discomfort or headaches. If you experience any adverse effects, consult your healthcare provider.
Professional Guidance: If you have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications, it’s a good idea to discuss the use of Saw Palmetto with your healthcare provider to ensure it’s safe and appropriate for you.
It’s promising that you’ve noticed some improvement with Saw Palmetto. Continue with your current regimen and consider integrating additional hair care practices for optimal results. If you need personalized advice or further treatment options, consulting with a trichologist or dermatologist can be beneficial.

The studies involving 381 people who tried Saw Palmetto for hair loss, as mentioned in the video, included five clinical trials. Two of these studies demonstrated positive effects on androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium with doses ranging from 100 mg to 360 mg of Saw Palmetto used both internally and externally. These trials showed improvements such as 60% better hair quality, 27% more hair, and an increase in hair density for 83.3% of participants. Additionally, 52% of the participants experienced less hair shedding, indicating a more stabilized condition.
These results suggest that Saw Palmetto can be an effective component in the treatment of certain types of hair loss, particularly when used as part of a comprehensive approach that addresses the underlying conditions of hair loss. If you're considering using Saw Palmetto, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider to ensure it's appropriate for your specific needs.

    Is this bad for liver?

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  Před 4 měsíci +1

Saw palmetto is an herbal supplement often used for managing symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and other urinary symptoms. While it's generally considered safe for most people when taken at recommended doses, there have been rare reports of liver-related side effects associated with its use.
There's limited scientific evidence on the direct effects of saw palmetto on liver health. Some studies suggest that it might have hepatoprotective properties, meaning it could potentially protect the liver from damage. However, other studies have reported cases of liver toxicity associated with its use, albeit rare.

Saw palmetto decreases libido and testosterone and can cause testicular pain, it's really important to chose dht blockers that maintain or boost testosterone while blocking alpha reductase otherwise you're going to put your body in an hormonal shift, lowering too much testosterone creating many more problems.

I'm not saying it will happen for everyone but it's definitely not entirely safe cause well it happened to me and was pretty serious, was taking saw palmetto (500mg) and turmeric (300mg) at the time, you can find other cases of people having the same problems on google, i still haven't recovered by the way. @@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist

That's all the problem, there are only a few. The best one coming to mind is green tea, problem is at long term and on potent dosage it might arm liver, then there is ecklonia cava, but same you can't really take it long term, the only dht blocker safe for testosterone and for life is probably pumpkin seed oil but unfortunately it's dht blocking ability is moderate. @@rrrrr369

I did my blood test results and I was low on D3,B12 and ferratin.
she recommended a number of supplements but the problem is that these supplements are too expensive for me. so, can I just replace these supplements for similar supplements from my local pharmacy and for DHT should I just take oral minoxidil.....
