Just started watching these farming videos recently, so much better than watching broadcast television. I left the farm fifty years ago to join the Navy, your video and others bring back great memories of life growing up on a family farm. Nothing better than watching families working on a farm. Like Bob Hope use to say, "Thanks for the memories!"
this reminds me of when i taught my GF to drive a 4430 tractor over 25 years ago
I've gotta teach my "friendgirl" to drive my John Deere B. She doesn't know what a hand clutch is, but she is a farmer! I bleed green, my stepdad red so we don't always see eye to eye. But my 75 year old hunk of iron never lets me down!

That is how you learn! drive it until you are comfortable and then you move up a notch learning how to make everything work.

Happy birthday Jamie . You two make a cute couple . I have a 4630 that I taught my grandson to drive when he was three ,he hit the power shift up to 8th from1st .He is now 17 he knows how to drive good . See Jamie it only takes 14 years to learn.

Happy birthday. Awesome to see. Hang onto that one buddy, any girl that is willing give something like that a go and learn that fast is an asset to you. I worked on a big Same tractor a while ago that had wooden blocks attached to the pedals to allow the farmer's elderly wife to drive it. Hope you both a bright future.

Hey, lets not be mean like that, I started when I was 6, pulling a cart around with a 4240. I'm 21 now, but hey, about 1/8th of the people in the United States know what a clutch is, so I give her props for that!
That’s a good tractor to teach on. My dad taught me how to drive our 4430. You really can’t break those tractors unlike the new tractors

Great video in your How Farms Work series. I retired from John Deere and never had an opportunity to drive our tractors.

Great job Jamie!! Happy Birthday! Just a few more bells, buttons and whistles but it's like driving a car and you will master it with a few lessons. It will make you feel great when you are actually doing it by yourself and adding something for completion of the work. Won't be long before you'll be running the auger in the grain cart and helping get corn in the new 20,000 bushel grain bin. :)

Happy birthday! Now I'm jealous - I've only driven tiiiiiny tractors (compared to that one)! I own a Massey Ferguson 135, and that is the biggest tractor I've driven. And I am a 37 year old man... JEALOUS! :D Good job, and good luck! Show him who's the boss! :D

I like those 4640's! Power! The people i work for have one with front wheel assist and when you hit the toggle switch it pulls like a tank in heavy tillage. Reminds me of the star wars millennium falcon going to light speed. Only issue is the lights are not quite enough for hwy driving in traffic, i toggle back/forth to field lights when making turns.
I love this video, I have never seen how a big tractor runs.

Gj Jamie i learned How to Drive a tractor when i was 6 or 7 yrs old it was a old Case its hard a First but u will get the Hang of it Don't worry wait tell he Teaches U how to use the PTO (Power Take off) and Stuff like that Once u get the Hang of it u will be Fine but Gj on ur First Run with a tractor oh and Happy Birthday

I remember my first time driving a tractor, i was twelve, a hydro line blew and i had to fix it in the field.
I wrecked our 4430 in the ditch first time driving it. Dad just laughed it off as he left me with the tractor to go get our combine to pull it out. Don’t ask why (we had other tractors, don’t know why he needed the combine but whatever)
